Aria Las Vegas

In my opinion this is one of the worst, most overhyped casinos on the strip.

The rooms don't have true blackout curtains. This means the lights from outside the building shine into your room, and in the morning it's very very bright.

It's noisy. During nights when their nightclub is open you can hear loud bass.

Housekeeping slamming doors, at all hours of the night.

The food is gross and overpriced. Tried both American Fish and the Cafe. The only good place was the pastry place.

Everything is way overpriced.

The table minimums are $50.00 for most tables. The slots are extremely tight.

I think what people pay for rooms often skew their judgement. They will often write rave reviews about a place just because they spent a lot of money. They can't admit they picked the wrong hotel.

 

Hope it isn't as bad as you say as we are staying there on our next trip (wife chose). I am hoping minimums aren't that high or I won't be playing anything but slots or vp.

 

Wow, that is very different than my experience here. What games were you playing with only $50 minimums? And when was it? The only time I have ever seen $50 as the lowest table minimum is at mini-bac on a saturday night. But even then, every other game in the place had minimums much lower than $50.

I have never had a problem with the blackout curtains. Did you complain to the front desk? if so, what, if anything, did they do to fix it?

 

We have stayed there three times. Might go again, but only with a great deal.

Still, I agree the blackout curtains are marginal. Even at night, there is light due to light on outside of building. Not sure how they could have done thousands of rooms and not realized that problem.

Food is overpriced, for sure. We did have good luck at American Fish, at the bar. The sports book was not bad. Priced high, but not so much for Vegas.

Room locations must be the reason for nightclub noise. We never heard it. Nor did we have a housekeeping issue.

 

Yeah I'm not a big fan of Cafe Vettro nor the Buffet. Cafe Vettro has a nice decor but the food is average and way over priced. Same with the Buffet.
It's nice looking but has below average food and stale desserts. Some of the food pairings that should be close to each other are poorly laid out.
I'm not crazy about their Spa either but I do like the rooms. I didn't like the casino at first but it is def better than being next door at Cosmo.

 

Wow... which Aria did you stay at?

We found the rooms to be absolutely perfect... quiet and luxurious. We had no problem with 'blackout'. In fact, near the bed, there is a "Goodnight" button to push when you are all tucked in. Pressing the button turns off the TV, closes the sheer curtain, closes the 'blackout' drapes, and slowly dims down all lights to total black... I mean total black.

We never had any experience with noise, and when we met them in the hall, Housekeeping personnel were very polite.

In the casino, we mainly played at $10 tables, that many went up to $25 as night drew on.

We loved that place

 

We've absolutely loved Aria both times we stayed there - don't feel we picked the wrong hotel at all [and that's after having spent the previous 6 years always staying at Wynn].

So I'm curious - just so we can get an idea what you do like as a basis for comparison - what places have you stayed at in Vegas that you thought were so much better, and why?

 

table minimum is not 50. ive seen 25 and im sure at differnt times during the day its less

 

Playing in a daily poker tournament at the M, I had 20 people ask me if I had ever been to Aria, every one said that was easily the best poker room in town

 

We never experienced any of these problems at Aria Sky Suites. Our suite had blackout drapes which functioned perfectly. We stayed 6 nights including one of the busiest weekends of the year and most tables were $25 minimum in the evenings. We never heard any noise (nightclub bass, housekeeping, or anything else) in our suite. Housekeeping was unobtrusive, yet provided excellent service.

In your opinion which restaurants in Las Vegas offer a good value for the price?

 

Yeah, not to pile on, but the $50 minimum thing is just not true. I have seen less than $25 at blackjack and craps during the day every time.

On the other hand, it is true that the food wasn't great and housekeeping sucked.

 

I think the rooms at Aria (especially the beds) are great--sorry you had such a terrible experience. My blackout curtains worked great.

The Cafe Vettro food is average Cafe food. That said, did you eat at Julian Serrano's? Their food is fabulous and the service is great too. We would often walk over to Crystals and eat at Wolfgang Pucks and then charge it back to our room. If you're looking for a great chicken pot pie, then Todd's English Pub is the perfect place for that.

My knock on Aria is around room service....slow service and not great food. To each his/her own and we'll be back at Aria later this year.

I am sorry you don't like Aria.
We have stayed 11 times, 2 more trips booked as well there.
Other then very minor issues our stays have been wonderful.
Love the rooms, beds, Cafe Vetro, and a lot of the slots there.
House keeping has always been great as well.
Drink service is usually very good other then a few dead area's.
It is amazing the different experiences.

 

We had a "base" room at Aria last November and I say we enjoyed it more than our Bellagio "lake view" room. The best part of it was the bed- most comfortable bed I've ever slept in.

I am a "cheaper" eater normally; we just did the buffet (great for our holiday dinner not so for the one breakfast we had there). But we did walk through the indoor connection and ate at Monte Carlo food court and little cupcake shop.

We are "slot only" players and the slot floor has an amazing amount of room between slots- you don't feel like you're sitting in someone's lap. That being said, the slots were not kind to me (I do love Bellagio casino layout and payback).

However, I would totally stay at Aria again and give the casino another chance. To each his own

 

I agree that the food is not the best, especially the dearth of inexpensive quality options. But the higher end restaurants have been improving.

Glad to see there's a consensus that the $50 minimum statement appears inaccurate. I was a little concerned that the weekends minimums had increased radically since I was last at this property in May

 

Maybe the OP was talking about the "Table Minimum" at Cafe Vettro haha! :evillaugh

 

Sorry to hear about the bad experience. Have stayed at Aria several times now and heading back there soon as it has become our favorite.

 

Disagree with the OP on almost everything.
I've stayed in both Sky Suites and the regular hotel and the blackout's worked fine.
I was at Aria in June and can't wait to go back!
The $50 table minimum is simply false.I have personally played at $15 tables.
As far as the restaurants go,American Fish is considered one of the top 20 restaurants in town.
The only thing I will concede is Cafe Vettro is pricey.
However,it is not more expensive than the coffe shops at Bellagio,Wynn,Caesars and many others.

 

I also enjoyed my experience at the Aria. The rooms were comfortable and I loved the automation.

I stop in to the casino at least once per trip even if I'm not staying there. The table minimums tend to be similar to Bellagio. You can find a $10 BJ table during off times, and a few $15 tables during peak.

I have only ever eaten in the sportsbook which I found good but overpriced. With MC, Bellagio and Cosmo so close I usually gravitated outside of Aria for food options.

I would stay there again in but the $25 resort fee is enough to turn me off.

 

So what you're saying is that someone has finally found a golden goose......and turned its eggs into an omlette!
