I'll be at THE hotel solo mid July, and was wondering if there is a fairly quiet bar or pub a solo guy can go to perhaps chat with nice, laid back people (not "working" girls, this happened to me and it sucked) had some luck meeting people from the U.K. and Australia at the MGM bar in the casino, is the small bar at THE hotel any good? perhaps a decent pub somewhere?? thanks.:peace::cheers:

THELounge, next to THEHotel check in/front desk is very mellow and relaxed. It seems like each time we go, there were only a small handful of people at the bar. Based on your description, it sounds like the right place!

Laid back is exactly what this place is. Don't count on seeing much "action".
You can sit at the bar (NO bar top poker there) or they have some nice big chairs (careful not to doze off!!) and you can even play a solo game on the pool table for free.

    Have fun!!

The Lounge as mentioned is very quiet. Actually I don't recall ever seeing more than a couple of people there.

You might want to try Eyecandy. It can be laid back (not dead) before 9pm on weeknights especially.

Re-Petes Bar on LV Blvd(strip) and Warm Springs.

Also, the Bootlegger Lounge near the Outlet Mall, classic old LV style, local hangout for Carrot Top.

A couple extra miles you may want to try Deans Place on Dean Martin Drive, behind the Silverton.

The Pub at Monte Carlo is usually a pretty good bet. They've got lots of beer choices and mighty tasty pub food in a casual, laid-back atmosphere. Just avoid it on game day, when it can get pretty loud and crowded.

You might also want to check out the bar at Dragon Noodle Co. in the Monte Carlo. It's a nice, bright place with excellent sushi and service that turns into a cosplay bar at night. It might be a good option for a couple of drinks, a snack, and a quiet conversation or two.

You should try the West Wing Bar in MGM Grand. Also, great happy hours!

Chandelier Bar at Cosmopolitan was very laid back.

I went there with a smaller mixed group a couple of months ago and had a very relaxing enjoyable late evening. (LOL, and early morning.) :)

Would recommend The Pub at Monte Carlo as well, as someone has already said great beer choice and great food as well.

Nine Fine Irishman is also a good pub and good entertainment as well, they also do some good food.
First time we were in Vegas nearly 4 years ago they didn't have a cover charge, when we went again in 2010, they started to charge after a certain time unless you had a meal in there during the day then you got back in for free with your recipt.

Is it still the same band that play in there, because they were good.

Stig, I do enjoy Nine Fine Irishman and have had some fun times in the place but it can be pretty loud.
