Wife and I went on an overnight casino jaunt to Caesar's Windsor. I live in Cleveland so we stopped at the new Hollywood Casino in Toledo on the way. We then proceeded to the three Detroit casinos and finally Windsor.

My magic moment came as we were driving on Interstate 75 approaching Detroit. The city buildings were in full view and the motor city blue collar vibe was there. Then J Geils Hard Drivin' Man comes on the radio. He gets to the part about we got the Detroit demolition and I'm just getting that you had to be there feeling. What a great driving song to hear entering Detroit.

I'm sorry, it doesn't take much to amuse me. Sometimes a song at the right time can be priceless.

    Nice one.

    Here's my similar story:

Heading down a long, somewhat desolate, stretch of road on the way to visit a relative. I've got the wife in the front seat next to me and my daughter (about 8 years old) in the back seat. I've got a Talking Heads CD going but other than that, everyone is quiet. Suddenly my daughter says "Where are we?". My wife and I look at each, both knowing the upcoming line of the song, and we simultaneously sing along; "We're on a road to nowhere". My wife and I thought is was hilarious. My daughter just said "You guys are weird".

I like The Horseshoe in Cleveland but I don't love it. All of the employees make we feel welcome and are very friendly. All I need is 15 base points on the total rewards card to get my parking validated at the garage parking facility. That means you need to run $150 through the machines. Not too difficult playing video poker. There is no full pay VP, but not airport type pay tables either.

I have been there twice and lost both times. I mostly play VP and some slots. VP sessions are mostly losers, but if I hang in there the tables will turn and the big wins will come. Patience and bankroll.

$10 tables are the lowest I saw during the week in the afternoon. Plenty of video slots but not enough of the old fashioned 3 reel kind like double diamond. Lots of dollar slots sitting idle and not enough .25 denom.

This is supposed to be only a temporary casino until the new one is built. In that regards it gets the job done.

I was at a Tom Tom Club concert at First Ave in Minneapolis (you know, Princes Purple Rain club) back in 2000 and after their set Tina came out in the crowd and kinda hung around with people. My old roommate and I stood and bs'ed with her for about 5 minutes. Very nice person. After all the stories I have heard after the Talking Heads break up, I whole heartedly agree with Tina and Chris about David Byrne.

Was standing at an ATM one day doing some banking. When Pink Floyd's "Money" comes up on random on the MP3 player I was listening to at the time.
