    My Trip Report

Just back from Vegas 7/17-7/22. Exhausted but had a great time!

    Hotel

Stayed at Caesar's in the Augustus tower, our first time staying there. We had one room comped there and the other room we had booked the cheapest rate in the Roman tower. When checking in we gave the check in person $20 dollars and she was able to put us both in Augustus tower high floor overlooking Bellagio fountains. Rooms were very nice, location is great close to strip, spa and pool.

    Pros:
    Very nice pool
    nice rooms
    great location

    Cons:
Not crazy about restaurant choices, and not much open 24 hours
    verg big and spread out
some of the dealers/pit bosses have an attitude

All in all we prefer Paris or Planet Hollywood for much better dining choices and smaller feel. Would stay at Caesar's again in the summer if we were planning to use the pool.

    Pool

Spent a lot of time at the pool this trip. Caesar's pool is great and even though odds are not great, swim up blackjack is fun and you get free drinks while playing. $10 tables is a great way to get pricey pool drinks.

On Friday we rented a cabana. It was $690 including $100 of food and beverage credit but worth every penny for our large group, and would totally do it again with a group. Leo was our cabana attendant and he was awesome! A good tip netted us some extra perks and most of the group was at the pool 10-12 hours and had a ton of fun.

    Spa

Caesar's spa and fitness center was great, but I found my massage to be less than average. Did have a Sunday - Thursday special for a 50 minute massage for $114 plus tip so the price was definitely reasonable, especially when the awesome spa facilites are included for the day.

    Meals

These 3 places are absolute musts each trip and we found we really missed having them right there when staying at Caesar's, didn't find any new favorites at Caesar's, and had a very hard time finding something we wanted after about 11:00 P.M.
Earl of Sandwich (Planet Hollywood - love this place reasonable and awesome food)
Sugar Factory (Paris - Fantastic Chicken Barbeque Pizza)
Sea Thai (Bally's - East West Shrimp is awesome)

    Other meals-
Caesar's diamond lounge (chicken wings, some other hot type dumpling thing, bread, pita bread, dips and desert - ok quick, easy and free, great drinks)
Hash House a go go (IP - big food, not that great won't be back)
Gold Coast buffet - Ok not a big buffet fan
Caesar's pool (ate here 3 times, suprisingly good food for a pool, foot plate was fantastic)
Caesar's - Cinnamon rolls and fruit from somewhere, ok

    Shows

Went to significantly more shows than normal, we were there an extra day

Vinnie Favorito - (Flamingo - 4 free tickets with diamond card, paid for one about 60 bucks. Show was ok, he really picked on a couple of people the whole show and in some cases he is just plain mean.
Anthony Cools - (temporarily at Bally's, normally at Paris. Two free diamond tickets, other two were about $30 each with BOGO free coupon. Show was ok.
Garth Brooks - 2nd time we saw this and as fantastic as the first time. Love Garth!! Very similar to last time but Trisha Yearwood did come out and sing a duet with Garth and one song on her own. Awesome! Highly recommend this show!
Terry Fator - I have never seen America's Got Talent so I wasn't really familiar with Terry Fator. I enjoyed this more than I thought I would, this is a good show.

    Gambling

Between all of us we mainly play black jack, slots, craps and Pai Gow. Played lots and had fun nobody got rich.

All in all another great trip, weather was hot, casinos and strip were empty during the week but packed on the weekend. The characters on the strip drive me crazy, they are horrible and it is Vegas, not Disney!

Thanks for the report. There is a small food court just before the forum shops that has some nice options. Not sure how late they stay open though.

Where is the Thai restaurant in ballys located?

The shrimp and chicken fritters at Sea are amazing. We ended up eating there three times on our last trip and were never disappointed. First trip one order of fritters, second = two orders and the third tirp we got two more. They are that good. Sea is fast, convenient and always provided excellent food. The dining area is also unique.
