Well I have to say I am impressed, just got the following email from Bellagio:

    From: Cosner, Rosemary <[email protected]>
Subject: Bellagio Introduction & Contact Information
    To: [email protected]

    Hello Mr. Pimp Daddy,

I would like to introduce myself, I am an Executive Slot Host at Bellagio. I would be happy to answer your questions below.

Our M life system is set up in the following tiers, based on tier credits:
    Sapphire - entry level
    Pearl - 25,000 tier credits
    Gold - 75,000 tier credits
    Platinum - 200,000 tier credits
    NOIR - 1,000,000 tier credits

You are currently at the Platinum tier and have 214,328 tier credits. There are 6,667 tier credits which will expire on 7/31/12 and 58,107 tier credits which will expire on 8/31/12. Your last trip was on 6/4/12. You will remain at the Platinum status until at least 6/4/13. The tier credits which will expire at the end of July will not affect your Platinum status. The tier credits that will expire on 8/31/12 will drop you below the 200,000 Platinum level, however, you will still hold the Platinum level until 6/4/13 (one year from your last trip). If you play slots at one of our MGM resorts properties between now and 6/4/13, you will earn more tier credits and it will possibly take you back over the 200,000 mark. In that case, you will have a new expiration date which will be 1 year from the new date that you played at at one of our properties and earned your Platinum status once again.

You stated below that you are a VIDEO POKER player. At the Platinum tier, you earn 1 point for every $7.50 you put through the video poker slot machine. The reel slot machines earn 1 point for every $1.75 you put through the machines. The video poker machines are considered "skill" machines, therefore you earn less points playing that type of slot machine. You may convert your points into "point play dollars" and download the point play at various slot machines throughout our casino.

In addition to tier credits and points, you also earn Express Comps. At the Platinum tier, you earn 2 cents for every 1 point. You currently have $3.12 in express comps on your account. You may use express comps for room, food, beverage, entertainment, spa, salon and cabana rentals. You may not use express comps for retail or tips.

I hope this answers your questions. Please feel free to contact me directly via e-mail or on my cell phone at (702) 591-1220 if you have any further questions. I would also be happy to assist you with any of your future room reservations here at Bellagio. If any of your friends would like to sign up for an M life card, please feel free to give them my contact information as I am happy to assist them with their room reservations as well.

We look forward to welcoming you back to Bellagio soon.

    Best regards,

so it sounds like someone really does know what is going on and they obviously really do have access to more specific information than they previously let on.

I do still think she got that reel slots amount wrong, I think its $1.50 not $1.75 but I was impressed by the effort and the fact my facebook post was sent by their "Interactive Marketing Manager" to some higher ups including the director of slots marketing.

wow, so it seems like the expiration date is rolling, so each trip where you end above a tier, you get that tier extended for another year. i thought that's how it was, but it didn't make sense.

the thing that's weird is last trip i got a new Noir card because my old one wasn't working in the slot machine and it had some random expiration date like Nov 12. obviously i've had several trips this year and have over 5M TCs and have had a couple of trips where i earned over 1M TCs on that trip alone. so i would expect that the expiration would be 1 year from my last trip, but it wasn't.

I like the fact that they use a rolling year to maintain your status. I don't like how CET resets on the 1st.

Yeah that rolling year is sort of a clincher for me. Well the nicer properties are the clincher in reality.

Kind of find myself debating between Aria and Bellagio now. I am mainly a bartop VP player which immediately eliminates Wynn and Palazzo from consideration for my play. Bellagio has worsened for me with the elimination of most of their bartop stations. The remaining, at the baccarat bar and sportsbook have very limited space and bad machines. Old machines with fewer options for games and sticky buttons. I like the machines on Bellagio floor but you can't get a drink out there to save your life.

My ideal trip is stay at Bellagio for hotel augmented with some play at Aria sportsbook bar. I wonder how Bellagio views heavy play on their trip at Aria. Would I be better off just to get used to staying "off-strip" at Aria?

Really? I've found the rolling 12 month a pain in he ass. I like that I start at 0 on Jan 1st and have all year to build up points. I'm 20k points away from platinum and it seems ever time I stop by an MGM property I'm just earning the points I lost from the previous month.

Since we now have some more solid info on LV point earning can someone explain why my gambling dollar is worth 1/3 or less when I gamble in Tunica or Biloxi compared to Vegas? While it could be argued that Mississippi (and pretty much the rest of the south) is almost a 3rd world country... they do take my American money.

It sounds like this person does know what she's talking about, but I'll believe it about the rolling year when I see it. I have called and specifically asked that question and was told it wasn't a rolling year. I earned Platinum in September of 2011 in one trip. So my expiration date is September, 2013. My trip in March of this year did NOT extend out my expiraton date and I was told that after that year, whatever my tier credits were at that point would determine my tier and I would keep that tier until credits fell below 200,000. Only if you drop below the tier and "re-earn" it, did your date extend out another year.

But I guess time will tell.

That's how I read it. Thanks for the info BeeeJay. I would be interested in personal experiences. The Mlife site does not show tier expiry dates so presumably it is only by getting a new card that expiry dates can be identified.

After re-reading it, I don't think she says one way or another. She is only saying what would happen if you went back after your tier credits dropped under the 200,000 point. She really isn't saying what would happen if you went back before the 58,000 tier credits dropped off at the end of August - and earned enough to maintain platinum - if that would extend out your expiration date or not.

First off, great email from somebody that appears to know what she is talking about. Beyond comprehension that some of this information does not appear on their web site.

Anyways, that "expiration" date thing. I find it still confusing. But, I did notice when I got a replacement card recently, it had Nov 2012 as well. Seemed strange, but possible. Still no idea when it will REALLY expire.

As to points on slots, what about "specialty" machines. Did not see that mentioned.

Got a nice email from M-Bay today.

Says "Summer Retreat at Mandalay Bay"

Can be booked through Sept 30, travel by Dec 27th.

Not sure if that is a summer offer, fall offer or winter offer. in any event, it is a sweet offer with $1k in freeplay, etc.

When I went to Vegas in early June my TC had fallen to 165000 or so but was still platinum. I had played last year reaching plat in April and then keeping my TC totals over 200000 during a june and october visit. I lost a large chunk of points in April this year but didn't lose plat status even though I was less than 200000 when i got my card on this june's trip. What all that means, no idea:) Just sharing my MLife experience.

but if that were the case, if you were so far above that you never fell below, you could never re-earn, which obviously isn't correct.

i will tell you that a couple of years ago when Noir was invite only, every time i got a new card on a trip it had an expiration date that was 1 year from that date. it just kept extending itself. but this last trip it didn't work that way. when you earn 1M TCs on a single trip and your expiration date isn't extended, you wonder what it takes to extend it? not that i'm really worried about it, but it just seems like a very complicated system whatever it is.

I don't read that as you have to drop below to re-earn, exactly.

I read it as they determine the date you earned it based on your play within the rolling 12 months.

    For example, if you earn

    50,000 on Jan 1
    100,000 on Feb 1
    90,000 on Mar 1
    60,000 on June 1

You would cross 200,000 as of Mar 1, so your expiry would show as Mar 1 of 2013. Even when you played in June, your expiry would still show as March because that's when you "earned" platinum.

BUT if you checked the following January (when your 50,000 points came off), the system would then think you had crossed 200,000 in June, and would then show your expiry as June of the next year.

Just a guess, but I'm assuming that's how it works.

So for Josie, her expiration date may not show as extended now, but may show as extended when enough points expire that her March trip makes the difference.

I like that theory - let's stick with that :)

I still don't think it's rolling. Why? Because then you would have people using other people's cards to extend their current tier status. I could mail one of you nice people my card and $10 and have you use it - BOOM. Tier date extended. You couldn't do this forever.

Take me me for instance. I went in 09/11 and earned 227,000 tier credits - tier will expire on 09/12. Let's say that was my most recent trip. I could give someone my card in August of 2012 and have them play $10 on it and now I've got that tier for another year. Sure eventually the points are going to run out - but I get to keep it for a year longer.

I just came back from Vegas and had this exact discussion with a supervisor at the Aria MLife desk. I am a Gold member (my expiration is Sept 2012). Some of my tier points had expired since my last trip in April and I was below the 75,000 points needed to maintain Gold status. I did a lot of play this trip and more than exceeded the points needed to stay Gold, so I went to the desk, presumably to get a new card with a July 2013 expiration date since I had "made Gold" again and was told that it does not matter how many points you accumulate before the expiration date (unless I were to make Platinum of course) - I would have to wait until the expiration date of September to get a new Gold card and the new card would be based on the current expiration date, and whatever tier credits were on my account at that time.

Even though I am now at over 75,000 credits, if any accumulated tier credits were to fall off between now and September and drop me below 75,000 tier credits, I would no longer be at Gold status, no matter how many credits I had prior to September. It goes by expiration date. So I made sure to rack up enough points to cover any that might drop off (even though I am planning a September return).

IMO MGM/Mlife should have left the 18th month rolling period in tact, I'm not sure why they changed it to 12 months.

I like CET's program better, but wish their properties and playing conditions were as good as MGM. Both programs seem pretty easy to understand for me.

That said, am I the only one LMAO that she addressed you as Pimp Daddy? Also, your e-mail address is hilarious.
