Just curious. I’m in a rather unique position as me and my BF are both MLife members so we both get offers. I am just wondering about how they decide which casino is your “home casino”, and by that I mean Mlife sends out offers and they seem to come from only one casino. Me and my BF both just got the Gift of Spending e-mails a few weeks ago, and mine is from the Aria, his is from the Luxor – which is where the question came up. We both used to stay at the Luxor just using his card. On my first trip with my own card, I stayed at MGM Grand so that became my home casino. Then last September we both stayed at Aria, so that became both of our home casinos. Then I stayed at the Mirage this past March, and that became my home casino. Now all of a sudden and with no other trips, I am back to having Aria as my home casino, and my BF is back to the Luxor. The other thing we noticed is that while Mirage was my home casino, my Aria offers tanked and my BF started getting better offers than me. (even though I had earned drastically more tier credit than him at the Aria - 227,000 vs. 82,000) . Now that Aria seems to be my home casino again and my BF is back to the Luxor, my Aria offers are again better than his. So does Mlife decide this, do the casinos fight over you – or in my case say, "you can have her back, we don’t want her". Any insights on this?
I would imagine demographics & data mining are a big part of it - so it's likely not so much where you've last stayed as it is a combination of your age, location, spending/dining/gambling patterns from past visits, etc. - basically, everything they know about you probably gets fed into some formula that marketing uses to determine where you get offers from, when & why - particularly once you've stayed at more than one or two different properties.
My offers have moved around. First Vegas casino to send me stuff was Bellagio. Then Aria. Then M-Bay. Finally after many visits, Mirage sends me stuff, where others have slowed down. Weird stuff.
Mlife is so screwed up, it has almost became a joke. For some reason I get more emails from hosts at Mandalay Bay (generic ones that I am sure they send out to many at once) than any other property. I have NYNY as a "home" casino which they have right, but i don't receive nearly as many offers from there. My parents receive offers from Bellagio being their "home" casino even though they have stayed there a grand total of one time. I'm with you, as in I have no idea how in the hell they base this.
What I have learned from my host is that starts with who you signed up with in the beginning. Then depends where you stay and play the most. Cheers Deb
Maybe I was switched back to Aria because I earned more tier credits there than I did at the Mirage - because I haven't even set foot in Aria since my trip last September. Same thing with my BF - he has played far more at the Luxor, but hasn't been there in several years. Strange. But like I said, seeing offers for the 2 of us - you get a different perspective. WHO KNOWS. I don't even know why I try to figure this stuff out .
yeah it has to do with where you stay and play the most. most of my trips over the past year have been at MGM, so that's where i get all my offers now. i haven't gotten a property specific offer from any other property in a long time. originally i got offers from the B because my first few trips were all at the B.
What is the "gift of spending" promotion you were referring to? What does it entail? Do you play tables or slots?
Slots. Here's my offer. Join us at ARIA and be treated to complimentary accommodations. Receive $350 in Gift Cards or FREEPLAY for playing the slots you love! Plus, earn an additional $50 in Gift Cards or FREEPLAY for every 5,000 points you earn. Here's my BF's. Join us at Luxor and be treated to complimentary accommodations. Receive $250 in Gift Cards or FREEPLAY for playing the slots you love! Plus, earn an additional $50 in Gift Cards or FREEPLAY for every 5,000 points you earn. The earning period is from 8/9 through 8/19.
i got this in both and email and mailer from MGM. $2k in gift cards to Saks, Neimans or one other place. or you can take promo chips. it also did say that you could earn more gift cards with your play, but didn't specify the details on that. it was 8/14-8/31.
