I had booked a few weekend stays at LVC. I had stayed there a few times back a few months ago when i was there. Someone mentioned here that someone said that LVC is closed. Can someone confirm if this is true or not? I'm worried because i booked many weekends and don't want to find out its closed.

I think that person mean its closed on the weekdays??

The sign says in one of Sam pics that it is temporarily closed "for the season" . Which we all know likely means permanently. So, if you booked a room there, you will have to go across the street to the Plaza likely. And they will probably wann a stick you with the new resort fee. And the most recent reviews say the aircon doesn't work in Vegas Club very well.

It must be pretty recent. I was on Kayak.com today looking for a january booking and they were offering stays at the LVC. Perhaps it is for renovations which will be completed by then. Perhaps I will stay at the Downtown Grand. Perhaps pigs will fly!

I also saw LVC come up on hotels.com searches. But, you actually have to be doing something for renovations to take place. It would probably be unpleasant to stay in a hotel that had simply been shuttered for the summer season. Then again, recent reviews did mention that renovation activity had been going on, and one reviewer claims to have been put in a room with exposed wiring and other work in progress. This is all very very strange.

Wish they would come out and say what they intend to do one way or another instead of all this limbo..

I cut through the Las Vegas Club yesterday 7/13 to avoid the rain walking from the CAL to GN. There were people at the registration desk checking in and walked passed a gal checking out.

If it's not, it should be. This place attracts panhandlers inside the casino more than any other. Without a doubt, each time I go (usually a short stop when I go downtown to try different places) someone always comes up and asks for a quarter or they missed the bus and need spare change, etc. It's gotten out of control. However, on my last trip, I did hit for $1000 on the wizard of oz slot near the pit. Nice way to start the trip, however, it barely lasted in my pocket for the night.

I just went on line to check availability of rooms at the Vegas Club.
No reservations available during the week, Fri., Sat. & Sun. only for the next several months.

If that doesn't suggest soon-to-be-closing, I don't know what does

    NO reservations Sun-Thurs?
    AND virtually NONE in December?
    Sad...

The recent reviews that I read stated only the north tower is being used during these weekends. If that's where I'm put in September, I'd be perfectly content. Especially for $42 on a weekend night. The rooms are huge, furnished just fine, and has a full bank of working elevators.

I hope they get it up and running soon. That is the one place where I usually will win. Love playing blackjack there!

Let me tell you a little story. I was living in Florida a few years back, and had an intensely realistic dream that I won $140 on the slots in the back area of Vegas Club. Taking that as a sign, a booked a trip for myself and one for a friend in Pittsburgh to join me. We went down to Vegas Club to win "my jackpot". I won nothing, and she won $140 after putting in a one-dollar bill.

I poked my head in there three days ago. It was alive and kicking. It didn't even look that bad, but I did not walk to the back.

They have copied Golden Gate by having dancing dealers. They weren't even that bad looking. I did not check out the rules of the blackjack game though. That's what's great about Golden Gate is that even though it's a party pit concept they still offer a decent game with 3/2 blackjack payouts.

No bum asked me for money either. lol

    Still Open

Yes, it is still open. They had been only booking weekend nights at the hotel, not sure if they still are. The back is totally empty now as far as gaming goes (just unlit slots). Also, Tinocos closed (very sad as I loved that place). But the front is still going along and is still open.
