The way I cope is never leaving on a trip without another one booked for future travel. That way when I get home, and start feeling withdrawals, I can just look at my calendar, and start counting days. I already have trips booked through Feb, sadly none to Vegas though....yet.

Drinking heavily and Vicodin helps :evillaugh Online gaming helps out, sure it's not real money but you can at least practice what ya like, DW and I also practice our counting strategies we use at least twice a week for our Blackjack play. We usually schedule our next trip ASAP also so we have that next adventure to look forward to and plan. Outside that, yeah medication.

The way I cope is to start planning my next trip. I check SW everyday for any sales and then frequent this board and other Vegas-related websites to get my fix until the next trip. I keep making lists of things I want to do in Vegas or restaurants I want to try. It is a never-ending cycle for me.

Pretty much exactly what I do. I stalk the airlines sites for sale prices, read the LV Sun, LV forums, news etc and keep notes on my phone for my next trip. I have found the notes helpful while I am out there to remind me of things I want to do.

Its easy to get off track out there, so the notes and extra planning have been helpful.

That's exactly what I used to do as well. Plan the next trip and have it scheduled before leaving on the first one. Then it turned into two trips prebooked, then three. Then I moved from Florida to the west coast so I could be closer. Now I go every month, and I've got my next four scheduled and paid for. LOL. Beats having that nagging feeling when you know it's around the corner.

I do it by reading this board and planning my next trip. Which cannot be soon enough!

I think they might have read that as having another Vegas tripped booked (you meant any trip, not just Vegas) for future travel and then you stated no Vegas trips booked. I read it wrong the first time too.

The way I do it is try not to plan for the next trip right away.

We always have a trip scheduled or at least in the planning stage. Far far less often than in the past will it be Vegas, but always readying ourselves for the next getaway(s). Travel = sanity.

Some things that finally helped me cope (lol):

-book a future flight before even going on a trip
-if I have a future flight that I am waiting impatiently for, I book a meantime trip
    -reading books about Vegas
    -VMB
    -watching movies about Vegas
    -playing simulated games
    -planning for Vegas (second-for-second)
-the best antidote for me was moving to a place that offered me the goodies of visiting Vegas (which was not actually gambling for me though I enjoy to play) including nearby (and concentrated) dining, cheap entertainment/shows/movies, weather!!!, pools, super cheap shopping, excellent CHEAP nightlife, etc.
-another antidote for me was finally working doing what I loved...now everyday is exciting like Vegas lol And since working feels like fun, I feel like my paycheck is a jackpot! lol

Much the same as above. I have a file folder. I check here daily several times. I keep notes on things I learn or places that sound interesting. I visit Kayak.com and keep an eye on prices, and when SWA extends their reservations systems I start checking hotel and flights. I am divorcing and losing most of what I have spent my life acquiring. I will be free to take off more frequently if I can afford it so my yearly trip may blossom into 2 or 3. I am always planning what I want to see and do the next time out, that is how I cope!

The nice thing about planning the next trip before the current one is that you don't have to feel compelled to do everything at once and exhaust yourself, then leave with some regret that you still didn't do such-and-such. The city isn't going anywhere, and it doesn't cost you anything to earmark a future date and start organizing. Gives you a little relaxation when you're actually there. Take in some things that have limited opportunity (a show that's about to close, a casino that's on the chopping block or getting run down), etc. I'll always regret not making it into the Stardust before the implosion, but set aside other things to visit Frontier before it closed.

After each trip we plan on when to take the next trip.
In the meantime we watch the boards and do continued research and update the To Do list for the next trip.
Oh, almost forgot.....we figure out how much to add to the Vegas budget while we wait. The longer the wait, the more time we have to add and the larger the budget.
So, the advantage to spacing out the trips is that the budget is larger.
