I have been to Vegas several times but I'm yet to go to the Fashion Mall or the Outlet's. However, I want to do a little shopping on my Oct trip.

What is your "must do" shopping?

    Thanks in advance!

I don't have any "must do" things, just observations since my wife likes to go shopping once in a while.

The Fashion Show Mall is really like almost any other mall, just bigger and a few more higher end stores. Big thing is that its generally a lot quieter than a typical mall in another city.

With the outlet malls the store selection is very similar between the two - there are lots of stores that are in both malls. The southern mall is enclosed whereas the northern mall isn't, but it has a few more higher end stores than the southern one does.

For overall deals, neither of the outlets is better than the other and they don't really have super deals like you might find at an outlet mall in another city. Then as long as you know what you are buying, IE: if you like Coach purses for their style and quality and you go to the Coach outlet and see a purse that looks just like the one selling for $40 more at the Coach store in Fashion Show Mall - the one in the outlet store isn't the same item thats just "on sale" because its at an outlet: its more like a company sponsored cheap knockoff of their own product.

I'm not knocking shopping in Las Vegas - as said, my wife likes to go shopping from time to time in Las Vegas because there are a lot of stores there that we don't have up here in Canada or some merchandise that never gets released here. And with the outlet malls I'm just saying that a lot of people find deals if they are looking for them, even if the deal isn't really there... and cautionary because if you like so and sos brand of jeans, as an example, because they look good, they are durable and they are made in America the ones at the outlet mall are likely going to be lower quality and mass produced in China with cheaper materials even though they will still have the company's official brand on it legally.

I like to go to the Bath and Bodyworks outlet at Primm. The have the previous season's home fragrances at 75% off. Like to stock up, especially all the harvest pumpkin and Xmas oil plugins. Friends say my home has distinctive scents the same way casinos do, and that's why. They're quite expensive otherwise

The wife's favorites are the shops at the Palazzo, followed by Crystals.

    What is your budget?

Jilly from Philly buys his wife super expensive gifts like a $25,000 watch.
    Am I right Jilly?

I am a frugal shopper and I go shopping at Ross Dept. store located across from the Monte Carlo Hotel. Great buys for me.

I love the $10. stores located at the Excaliber, NYNY, and Treasure Island.
I buy me some watches, fashion jewelry, scarfs, tote bags, purses, etc.
    Every item is really $10.

I shopped at Hanes outlet and bought me lots of cotton underwear and Bali's bras. 40% off which is a great deal. I also bought me some blue suede shoes at the Naturalizer store at the outlet South. I prefer the indoor outlet.

I love to WINDOW SHOP at the most expensive stores and just be a looky loo. I almost got tempted one time and wanted to buy me a pair of Prada shoes at Norstrum store in the Fashion Mall. But I have nobody to impress with showing off expensive shoes.lol. I buy me shoes that fit well and keep my feet safe from the elements. I usually pay $45. for my shoes.

I can't help being frugal and El Cheapo. I was raised that way by my Momsy.
If I became a millionaires I would go buy me the Prada shoes to impress the other rich people at the Country Club.lol. Lucy

    Shop at the ABC STORES

I forgot to add that the ABC Stores are from Hawaii. They have Hawaiian products and Las Vegas products.

I like to buy me the sweet water real pearl jewelry. I also like their canvas
Las Vegas tote bags and purses. Great prices. It's fun shopping there. Lucy

I don't go to the Ross store in Vegas because I can do that at home. And I believe the store close to the Strip is down by Riviera, not by Monte Carlo?

Before I had a Nordstrom Rack within 45 miles, I liked to visit the one in Vegas.

I like to go to the northern Premium Outlets - if I'm shopping for something not at the outlets near me.

My next trip will be close to a "milestone" birthday for me. So it's the David Yurman outlet for me:thumbsup:

Primm has Nieman Marcus Last Call & Williams Sonoma that aren't in Vegas, but that's too far for me to drive just for those two stores.

    Ross Dept. Stores

Vegas does have a Ross right across the street from the Monte Carlo Hotel
and there is another Ross one block before the Stratopheres Hotel
and I think I saw another Ross further up on the way to downtown.

I belong to the Ross Tuesday Club and I get 10% off. I like to go shopping at their stores because they also sell the extra large size clothes. Plus, if I want to return an item I can do it at my Ross near my home.
I bought me a men's leather wallet with a zipper in it to store my large bills in it. It is really nice and fits in my tiny purse.

I can't always find my size at the Ross near my home. Lucy

My wife's goto place is the Shimoni silver jewelry place in miracle mile. They have really good prices and she can spend WAY more time in there than a store of that size warrants. I usually go gamble in PH for what seems like forever and when I start to worry about her i go and find her and she's "almost done"...lol

LOL - Usually the high-end watches are for me - I usually treat myself to one each trip, because there's such a great selection to choose from in Vegas & I'm a watch collector. Last trip the wife only got one too because I had that huge win at the Palazzo.

But normally where the wife kills my AMEX every Vegas trip is on shoes & handbags - you wouldn't believe the bills that woman can rack up on just a couple of handbags or pairs of shoes :faint:

So now the website lists the Showcase mall location, but not the strip mall near Riviera. So did it "move" and the northerly one close? Ah well, as I said - I can go to Ross at home so I don't go there in Vegas.

My husband loves to look at watches in the Tourneau store. A few years ago he bought a gorgeous refurb there. I like popping into Kiehls if we're over at CP anyway (but I usually order their products online)

There's one store I consistently shop when in Las Vegas because they have clothes small enough to fit me (I'm 5'1") and the style is young/trendy. It's called Maude and located in the Shoppes at Mandalay Place: http://www.mandalaybay.com/features-and-shopping/shopping/the-shoppes/?ef_id=8w5OkIMdXjIAAMdx:20120715150137:s

    Enjoy!

    Copy. Ditto. Cosign.

Quite a few Ross' stores in the area including across the street from Circus Circus.

...and live around several more. Those $10 stores are a hoot!
