    My Trip Report

Yep, you read the dates right, I could leave now and be in LV for just tonight. Talk about being bored at home and having the Vegas bug bad. I am most likely leaving in 15 minutes but vote in the Poll section to get my butt out the door! Thanks and hopefully you will hear from me next from Las Vegas! I haven't been in 6 years!

Please don't take me wrong, as I vote NO. It's always exciting when someone (including myself) wants to go to Vegas. However, you have to drive back tomorrow afternoon. Knocking out 13 hours of round-trip driving time, you will have very limited hours at Vegas.

UNLESS, you can meet Natedog, stay at his Wynn Villa and use his comps for tonight. :wink2:
    Otherwise, it's not worthy! IMHO.

Yeah, to make that trip worth it I would have to have minimum of 2 nights 3 days and drive back at night the third day.

Roller coaster time, dropped 180 at Pai how quickly, then lost 120 in DDB GO, then bought in for BJ at 200 and worked it to $600, made 100, now breakfast at Lucky 7

Pics on the drive thru Utah to the promised land

I know some of you think I am crazy for driving 13 hours for only about 13 hours of fun in LV, but it really was a pretty drive. I can only hope the prettiness sustains me on my drive back.

Last picture taken about 6am, and sure surprised it is in focus because I was not at that time.

Okay, final update from this crazy trip.

Left home at 5:00 pm last Saturday, had 507 mile drive to through beautiful scenery. Arrived about 11:30 pm Las Vegas time, hour time difference nice going there, not so nice driving back. Dropped off bag at my free LaQuinta Inn on Paradise and headed out to Hard Rock for some gambling. Remember, I hadn't been in Las Vegas in 6 years.

Liked some of the renovations at HR but just wanted to drink and gamble, found empty seat at Pai Gow betting at $25 a hand, bought if for $200. My past experience with Pai Gow is that 8 bets will usually last awhile, not the case, dropped $180 in probably less than 30 minutes, should have walked away when I was down $100 cuz I could tell it was just going south.

Switched to DDB Video Poker but same thing, dropped $120 fairly quickly. Had $200 left in my bankroll and decided to play blackjack at $15 a hand. Real quick got on a roll and pushed it up to $600, then breakfast at Lucky 7's, nothing special there. This all took about 4 1/2 hours. It is now about 6am.

Decided to look in at Hooter's Casino because who knows how long is it going to be there, played some video poker but only for 30 minutes, bought in for $100 and walked with 101.25, woot woot, I was on a roll. :D

Headed back to my suite (yes, I got upgraded, I am elite with LaQuinta, are you jealous Natedog? just kidding, I love your reports). Slept till 1pm (elite status gives you late checkout, cheeky). Stomach wasn't doing too well after having drunk entire night away, didn't even feel like breakfast/lunch. Decided I just had to do the drive down the Strip so drove from Tropicana up to Flamingo. Was really really amazed how much the strip has filled in. I lived in Las Vegas from 1994-1997 and the changes are amazing. I can't wait to go back and have the time to explore all the new places that have been built since then.

I decided to run by The Palms where I used to play quite a bit and lo and behold my favorite 50 play Video Poker machine was in same place it always was by the Food Court. Had to play and they even had me still in computers with my current address even thought I hadn't been there in 6 years and moved twice (hmmm, big brother has nothing on the casinos).

Playing 5cent 50 play DDB, turned $100 into $200 and then machine went cold, took the $200 to Pai Gow, started off slow, was down about $150 and was dealt a Straight Flush with $5 bonus bet. Won $250 and it was time to hit the road.

Left Las Vegas at 4pm so basically spent total of 24 hours in town. Crazy, crazy, I know but I was burned out from work and just needed the escape and I worked this entire week with a smile on my face from this escape. Got home about 1am Colorado time, making frequent pit stops along the way, including the In and Out Burger in Washington City, UT.

    Stats
Drove about 1100 miles roundtrip (about 15 hours total)
    Gambled total 7 hours
    Bankroll $500 returned with $780
Gas costs me about $110, rental car Fiat 500 was $80 including all taxes/fees.
    Profit $80
Bigger Profit - Put a smile on my face (get your minds out of the gutter, lol)

Would I do a crazy trip like this again? Probably not, really like to have regular vacation, say 5 days, get to explore all the new things in Vegas and take in a show and eat at some of the nice restaurants. BUT this fit the bill for me right now.

I even had to get in car on Wednesday and drive about 250 miles for a small training I gave, not a problem but this weekend I think is just mellow time, hang at home. Thanks for reading this far, hope it was worth it.

And a side note, got email today from Hard Rock offering 2 nights comp Sun-Thur and discounted rates on weekend, that was fast. Good marketing on their part.

Awesome. Glad you had a great mini trip and hope you can take advantage of your offer before the year is up. It will probably expire before 2019.
