Umm, I think Mlife’s IT incompetence just benefited me.

I just called to cancel Aria for this coming weekend. I hated doing it because it was one of those sweet offers I only get during slow periods (this one amounted to at least three times the value of my usual offers and even more than what a host will usually do for me). But, the siren call of Encore was too much for me and I decided to switch to The Steve’s joint.

As I was cancelling, I realized that I would be out in Vegas in September on business. I knew that the offer wasn’t good through September but I figured I’d give it a shot and I asked the Mlife gal if she could just move my reservation to those dates. She immediately mentioned that the offer ended long before then and started to look for other offers. Then she said “well, let me just see if the computer will let me move it”. And to the surprise of both of us, it did! (And yes, I got an email confirmation.)

So, I’m just wondering if I’ve been the beneficiary of one of the (far from uncommon) Mlife computer f*** ups. She never put me on hold to speak to a host. So, either I’ve benefited from a glitch or those casino marketing people have much more leeway in determining what comps I “deserve” than I thought.

Any ideas as to what just happened? Anything similar happen to you?

Anytime I've talked to an Mlife drone they haven't had any flexibility at all. If I have an offer that covers the time I want to be there, then I get it. Otherwise they tell me no. Hosts definitely are different.

I think you just proved the old adage, "it never hurts to ask" and also being polite can go a long way. Nice score!

I actually got a pretty good one a couple weeks ago.

I had booked a room at Aria for June 8th weekend for Fight/EDC weekend. I canceled it a week before and ended up booking at Cosmo since I got a super good rate($145) when it was going for $700 for a reg room that weekend. I was planning to do alot of stuff at Cosmo anyway so it was worth it.

A few days before that, was the whole MGM computer malfunction all over the place. They had people waiting 2-3 hours checking in at Bellagio, MGM, Aria and other places. Fortunately I didnt have to deal with that.

So the Monday I come back from that weekend, I get an email with an apology from MGM/Mlife for the fiasco that happened during the computer issues. For my inconvenience, they were giving a complimentary stay at Aria for my troubles.

I was going back3 weeks later on another Aria booking so I ended up calling Aria that day and using that comped night during my June 29th weekend stay.

So there, I was a recipient of a Mlife glitch and Im grateful for it. LOL.

Mlife is on my poopie list right now. I have a few "comped" offers online, but when I go to book it, I get all the way to the payment page and it doesn't go through. When I call, the people on the phone can't find the offers that I see on my screen. They say it's a glitch in the system. Frustrating.

If I were you, I might be a little worried that they will not honor the exact comps (freeplay amount, F&B) specified in the offer you think you booked.

The person on the phone may not know exactly what she was doing.

Yeah, I won't be surprised if they try to screw me on the FP or F&B or downgrade the suite. But, I will be checking up plenty. I still have to give them flight info for the limo and will probably be making show/dinner reservations at some point as well. So I'll have plenty of opportunities to double and triple check. (Though I certainly wouldn't put it past them to still renege on some of the stuff even after double checking.:rolleyes2:)

Cool, hopefully it will all work out fine. Sounds like a lot of fun.

thinking the only thing that MIGHT get lost is the suite... depending on who is in the house.
