Table Games Which has better DD Mandalay bay or the mirage?

im going to vegas and I want to know which MGM property has the best DD on the main floor.

 

Of the 2 it's Mirage. They used to be excellent but just have 1 (I think) DD table outside the high limit room now. I think minimums are usually $25 or $50. I do not recall MB having good DD in the time I have been travelling to Vegas!

Bellagio and Aria will have many more good DD tables, usually $50 min in the day and $100 at night. I read that MGM has $50/$100 games.

NYNY has a pitch DD game at $100. TI has a similar game at $50/$100.

Some of my info is dated so hopefully others can comment on any recent changes.

 

when was the last time you played DD at M.B? my buddy did say that the DD at mirage is hand shuffled and M.B is ASM for DD. Does it really make a difference in the 2 shuffles? Are ASMs rigged or is it just like a normal way of shuffling ?

 

All of Tubbs’ info was accurate as of my April ’12 trip. (Though, I didn’t find a S17 DD game on the main floor, but I didn’t really look as I knew there would be plenty of $100 tables in the HL room). You can also find a S17 DD game in the HL rooms at Monte Carlo and Trop, I believe.

I haven’t played at Mandalay Bay since before I could afford to play on “good” DD tables. But CBJN does list one S17 DD game at $200 mins.

The only difference ASM makes is that you’ll play more hands as no time will be “lost” shuffling. Take an extra bathroom break every now and then to offset the extra time playing.

BTW – All of the above info is regarding games where the dealer stands on soft 17 and there are no doubling restrictions.

I would play at either Aria or Bellagio just because they have more tables, hence less people per table. If you are playing with 2 or 3 people on the DD game, chances are you will only get to play 3 or 4 hands each shuffle... I was at Aria earlier this year on a weekday afternoon. For some reason, the DD games on the main floor were $100 min which was the same as the HL, so I ended up playing at HL room. So you should definitely check out the HL limits.

 

This is probably understated about the number of rounds. The last time I was in Aria/Bellagio, they use a notch in the discard rack to put the cut card in the 2-deck games. This notch is about 66 cards deep, so you should expect 4 or 5 rounds before the shuffle with 4 total players (including you) at the table.

Many places put the cut card in exactly at 1 deck. The MGM properties are more generous, at least when they have this notch to position the cut.

Note that many places on the strip deal their 2-deck games face-up. To get a 'real' pitch game where you get to hold the cards, you probably have to go downtown. This doesn't affect your odds, but it's more fun to hold the cards, IMO.

It's very tough to find a 2-deck game at Ar/Bel for less than $50 minimum. CET properties will deal it more often for $25, but you'll get a 50% cut at best.

 

thats strange it should of been 25 during the week. I dont like MGM DD because it is ALWAYS 50 mimimum and will go up to 100/200 depending on demanding of seats. i think MB has 4 DD tables on its main floor and 1 DD in HL. can anyone tell me the lowest minimum the HL DD at MB was when they were recently there? im going to be there next week.

 

Both CBJN and a few posters here said it's 200 at MB HL room, but you can ask them to lower it if it's not busy over there. Give Aria HL a shot if 100 min is acceptable, you will not regret. Also, Monte Carlo HL is 100 as well and you will be the only one playing in there.

 

If you want a DD game where the dealer stands on soft 17, you’ll be hard pressed to find one for less than $50…and $100 is far more likely most of the time.

You can find “lesser” DD games for $25 many places. As mentioned, CET props usually have it for $25 – but they will ALL be H17 and many won’t even let you double after a split. According to CBJN, you can also find $25 H17 DD games at Mirage, NYNY, Luxor, Mandalay Bay, Venetian and Palazzo. Though, I question how often the V/P games will be at the quarter level.

In my experience, Treasure Island’s HL room is probably the place where you’ll most often find $50 S17 DD games at night (plus, it's dealt face down). As others have said, Aria and Bellagio have – by far – more of these tables than anyone else. But, they go to $100+ the instant there is any demand whatsoever.

 

In my experience...

Aria occasionally (i.e. off-peak) has S17 DD for $25+. Expect this only on weekday afternoons though.

Bellagio has the same, although I think they're $50+ only but it might be lower. I've seen it lower a while ago.

Mirage has 1 $25 S17 DD table.

From what has already been posted on this thread, what I have read elsewhere and my (limited) personal experience -

There are no good DD games on the casino floor. Any DD is H17. There may be a S17 DD game in the HL room. If there is, it is $200+ minimum.

 

the peneration is better then the mirages even though the mirage is S17. im staying at MB this weekend. Should I still give those DD tables a shot?
