After my Dec trip, I am downgrading to a trip a year. I am starting a very rigorous program at school and will have to focus. To that end, I am curious about how comps (or even discounted rates) have worked for people who take only one trip a year? My assumption is that comps dry up and you lose "cred" with your fav casinos, and so you decide not be loyal to any of them. It's peculiar but after all my trips and research, finally finding some favs, I may not benefit from concentrated play because I am decreasing the amount of trips.
With CET, the rates/comps in the calendar stay pretty good even if you go infrequently. I can't speak for other chains/hotels though.
With CET, I believe you lose credits each six months. If you have their credit card, and make at least one purchase on it, you keep it all.
I haven't been to Vegas in over a year and I am still getting comp offers from all the properties... in some cases the offers get better as more time passes. Who can figure it out?
Excellent!! I'm glad to hear this. I have lost comps after not using them for a few months and the same I heard from someone else.
We normally go once a year. Have gone twice in the past and have a 2nd trip planned this year already. Since we are part of MLife our offers continually dwindle, but if we plan it properly there will be an offer that eventually comes in for 3 free nights.
With Boyd, our tier (status/card) points drop off every 12 months after earning them. But we retain our "slot points". Those are the ones that can be used for drinks, food, gift shop, etc.
I started going once a year and then got derailed (long story). I was never comped. For several years I got email and a few snail mail offers of discounts, especially when the economy went in the toilet. I would sit at my computer crying because I couldn't go. I can't comment on comps because I don't know. But, you'll get some kind of discounted offers for well over a year. I know you had talked about not trying for comps anymore, just trying for good deals. You'll be OK. Just do yourself a favour and get a Vegas only email address on gmail. If you get the offers in your regular email and you can't go, you'll upset yourself for no reason.
Very good point. I figured now that I love and can feel loyal to a few props, I would focus a little play between them. Let's see how this goes. Playing for future comps can be a vicious cycle but seeing comps/discounts for months when you can't use them and then them disappearing when you are ready to use them is kind of vicious lol.
Hey Now! we haven't been in 2 years, and still get room offers from Boyds. Sign up for the BConnected online and you will get 2 nights comped.
