If you could choose between a comp in a Paris blue room and a Flamingo Go room -- which would you pick and why?

My husband has both offers -- he wants to stay at Paris, my dad likes the Flamingo. My husband is 37, my dad is 71. Yes, they have to share a room (snoring serenade)

We are MLife pearl but we have no comp offers in our accounts right now. I just want to get sometihng booked on comp in case MLife doesn't toss us a bone this fall.

    Which would you pick?

While neither is really my taste, I think Paris is the nicer of the two.

I am staying at the Paris this week for the first time and also had the option of staying at the Flamingo. I was nudged to stay at Paris so I am. The benfy of the GO room is that its relatively newly remodeled. The blue room however is the same thing you would have gotten in 1999 when it opened. Paris is 390 st feet while Flamingo is 350 sq feet. I also like that the Paris has a separate stand alone shower from the tub...not sure if Flamingo does.

I will however attempt to get myself a Red Room upon checking in. They remodeled the top 5 floors several years ago and the Red Rooms are a little more modern with a flat screen TV.

Paris, hands down. You have a decent chance of a $20 trick upgrade and I wouldn't stay at Flam while all the construction is ongoing - they've had problems with the electric going off for extended periods of time.

I hate to be of no help here, but I actually alternate between the two exactly rooms being described.

    Flamingo advantages:

The beds will be a bit more comfy in a GO room (pillow-top), however if you receive a new bedding room at Paris, they are tons more comfortable than the old beds (in November I received one with nearly brand new mattress - not sure if all have been replaced).

Easy strip access (although seriously Paris is really really really good too!)

Margaritaville close (that's a big point for me as I like to eat there - including breakfast w/20% off with CET card)

Flat panel TV & iPod dock (not deal breakers for me - I only use TV to fall asleep to).

    Paris advantages:

Quieter casino (noise-wise) unless you get up near the music (end near TR desk)

Easier elevator access (like spokes of a wheel)

No chance of construction noise with Linq construction

More privacy with a 'real' bathroom door (might be a benefit for 2 guys - GO does have it's own stand-alone shower though also)

Paris buffet (seriously my favorite - bff's fav is PH's - so CLOSE also) & easy access to Earl of Sandwich

I was just at Flamingo in March & will be at Paris in September (missing my July trip!) - generally go back & forth. The deal breakers for Flamingo right now would be noise potential from Linq (ask for a southern strip view room to avoid it) and the less privacy with a GO bathroom (co-worker & I were fine in March but 2 gals vs. 2 guys - however it did wake me when she showered early in the morning).

Yes, the Red is a nicer room at Paris but I have read of actually very little success with the $20 trick on that (and it hasn't worked for me a couple of times although I was given strip view). I prefer the Red beds but am still comfy in a normal blue room & actually like the lighter wood tones in those rooms. So I wouldn't count on the $20 trick.

The GO room is one of the coolest rooms I've ever had in Vegas. But the Flamingo is kinda crappy, not the best amenities or restaurants, and with the construction, it's not perfect right now.

Paris has a lot of amenities, and a great location, a better casino, but those rooms aren't as snazzy, and they are a little old, but not crappy by any means.

I'd probably go with Paris, overall, it's just a nicer property.

Paris is the most convenient when it comes to elevators, very close to the casino floor. The only time it gets alittle loud is when a band plays at the bar in the evening otherwise it's very quiet.

This maybe good for your Dad but a boring atmosphere for your Husband. They can walk right next door to Planet Hollywood if they want a more lively scene.

The rooms are nice, we've always received Eiffel Tower view.

I normally stay at one of the two locations in either a luxury or GO room. I like both properties but honestly Paris has a slight edge with me. I like the GO rooms better than the luxury, but I think overall that Paris has a slight advantage with it's layout and definitely has better food choices. If it's the fall when they are going, i like Paris's sportsbook better too

    For 2 guys

Paris for sure--room is bigger, blue not pink:eek:, and bigger. Plus the GO room bathrooms aren't very private--it has a sliding frosted glass door; I think it just has a shower, with clear glass, too.
Plus you minimize the construction effect.
One note--the $20 trick is not known for success in Red Room upgrade at Paris; not saying it won't happen, but highly unlikely

    Paris vs Flamingo Go Rooms

If it's important to you (it is to us), the Flamingo Go rooms have a coffeemaker and fridge in them. Great having a fridge this time of year.
