    Hello everyone.

I am planning Aug 30 trip for 5 nights. I always stay at PH but this time I wanted to try something different.

I do like PH but the pool is bad and not inviting and I heard Rio has good pools.

How is the pool at Rio? also how is the Crowd overall?
I like the fact that PH has 20's to 30's single crowd. does Rio have that or is it mostly families?

    is Rio a party hotel?

    Thank u

Rio isnt a party hotel. It doesnt have the same vibe as PH, but the pool is decent.

I would look into the dayclubs if you're looking for a pool party atmosphere.

Personally I thought the Rio was becoming a little long in the tooth the last time I was there. Place is in bad need of some spritzing up, especially the casino.

If you're looking for a party Vibe. Cosmo is another good one. Check out Elara as well(the old PH towers). Different place to stay but still in the same vicinity as youre familiar with.

    Thanks worldtraveler661.
Cosmo is nice but expensive. I am getting comped at PH, Paris. Rio Etc etc "Caesars is not comped"

to be honest I gamble a lot so paying for a room is not an option especially i got used to not paying and I travel to Vegas and AC a lot.

I like PH because of the vibe, free rooms, crowd, mile shops ... i just wished the had better pool.

I stayed at Elara 4 month ago and their 1 bedroom is amazing :) but then again they want $650 "5-nights" for the suite without the upgrade. tipping $50 gets u the 1-bedroom upgrade.

I was curious about Rio because from the pics the pools look good but it seams like it is not a fun place to be overall and so many people complaining about the rooms being old etc

Back to PH I guess. Thanks

Have you tried calling the marketing or host of another casino to see what they will do for you? I heard a good vibe hotel is the tropicana, cool pool and the crowd you are talking about. Not on the very high end so they may want your action...

once youre used to the PH vibe and you like that, you wouldnt want to be at Tropicana. :p I feel thats a step down.

rio is a bit off the strip ... unless you've been to it before and you enjoyed it so much that your thinking of just staying there and not leaving ??

other then that i wouldn't stay there.

    I definitely like PH better

Loved the Rio's HUGE rooms--great for a family of 5! Shuttle was nice, but you can wait up to 30 min.
Of CET properties, Flamingo has the best pool after Caesars, probably followed by Rio.
BUT you can use ANY CET pool--so stay at PH, head over to CP or Flamingo for the pool.

Thank u all for the Advice.

KKB, that is a good Idea to stay at PH and check out Caesars Pool .... wish I wasn't lazy thou ... I will end up staying at the pool of the hotel I am staying.. lol
I never been to Rio thenuke1 ... only saw the pool pics online and heard they have an adult pool with good music etc

Porstaker, I want to stay with CET because they been loyal to me and always hooked me up in AC "I live close to AC .. driving distance"

Thank u all, I already booked the flight and happy to be going to Vegas again. Happy Gambling everyone and good luck :)

Been many years since I have stayed at the hotel, but I didn't get a bad impression of the casino at all last year. I am interested in checking out their new drink service system, see if it really does make it more efficient.

As for the OP, from what he says, seems like he would be happier at PH, although I am guessing the $$ is more. I would check prices through TR, and see what the rates look like at all the CET properties for my dates.

Rio isn't a party place during the weekdays but I have never been on the weekend so I don't know if it still changes. I remember leaving on a Thursday and there was a significant difference in age between the people getting off the elevator and the people getting on.

    Flamingo Option

How about stay at the Flamingo so you can use their pools and play at PH for the vibe? Not to far to walk or stagger back.

I'm a big fan of the Rio pools and ``suites,'' but the Vibe and casino action in general leave me cold. What I've been doing lately is stay and swim at the Rio, play VP at the Gold Coast, and absorb the Vibe and the restaurants at PH. I also have some luck at the PH craps tables.

We've stayed at Rio about 6 times

Seems to be going downhill overall, but I would say if you want 20-30 party action it's there on the weekend. The circular bar near check-in is pretty lively and there's a club there that attracts a lot of locals and Metro Cops.
Theres a new Asian restaurant there if thats appealing to you.
The buffet has a locals promo going so the lines can be very long.
To me its just location mostly, easy highway access and Gold Coast next door.
Also, its easy to get to banks, local restaurants etc. without strip traffic.
Good place to stay if you rent a car, easy in and out.

Only ever stayed at Rio with a car and we liked it. The rooms are a bit worn but are still in line with the quality you would expect at a mid-tier property in Vegas. We would be placed in the "not-lazy" category and end up packing a lot into our time in Vegas. If I were going to just stay at the hotel, I would probably not choose the Rio because I don't like the casino very much. We do enjoy hitting the Voodoo lounge each trip, but we like it mostly because it's not the huge party spot it used to be. Now it's just a cool place to hang out, dance, see a band, etc. If you're already using CET in AC, should be no problem comping you for a Vegas trip. We don't gamble nearly as much as most people I know anymore and are still getting comped in both places. If you do end up staying at PH this trip and can manage to peal yourself away from their 'awesome' pool area, take a ride out to Rio and just check 'em out. Look at a room... walk the pool area... go up to voodoo.(just go to the desk and tell them what you want to see) Have a great trip!
