    My Trip Report

After 6 straight weeks of unrelenting process failures, just everyday things that all of a sudden just could not go smoothly, jetted from MHT to LAS this morning for 5 nights at THEhotel and 5 nights at Caesars.

Went right: on my way home from work yesterday, a T-bone accident right in front of me. Not involved.

Went right: Bought the SWA ticket in December with early bird, for a different itinerary. Checked in yesterday and got B4 B4! are you shittin' me? But, got the golden seat and middle seat was empty. Flight pushed off on time, flight time was 4:55, which is awesome.

Went wrong: got a sedan at the airport, told the driver I wanted to stop at the Vons on Tropicana on the way to the hotel. I was thinking of the Vons at Maryland & Tropicana; he was thinking of the one in Santa Monica CA.

Went right: So we're a couple of miles west of the strip and I spy an Albertson's. "Albertson's will do," I say. Load up, head for the hotel, get there within the 1 hr. $43 + tip, about the same a cab would've been, cheaper than a rental car. I actually had a Vons delivery scheduled, but then they decided not to deliver on the 4th, and the website wouldn't let me cancel the order (see process fuckups referenced above).

Went right: The lone guy at VIP check in said my reservation set up was for the front desk, but didn't kick me out, lol.

Went wrong: didn't get the room I wanted. I probably could have waited and gotten a better room, but I had perishables that needed to go into a fridge. I think this was originally a slow week, but a couple of events got moved or added that I think upped the occupancy. Room's fine, I usually have a V suite, but it comes at the expense of storage space, so it's a tossup. The view I have sucks.

Went down and signed for front money. Three craps tables working, two, count 'em, two of em were $5.

Getting organized to hit the casino. Hoping to run into shifter and/or Natedogg at some point, although from the sounds of their trip reports, it may not be at MGM.

Could have been worse. One of my buddies brought his brother on a trip in the mid-2000's and apparantly he and my sisters ex-husbands cousin got a little too drunk and hit it off, decided to split a street walker.

Long story short, during some tag team action they decided the tag out was unnecessary. A few minutes later, the infamous "T-bone accident" occurred and forever redefined this term for our crew.:evillaugh

Good luck on your trip and looking forward to following this trip report!

Lol, if THAT had happened in front of me, 911 would not be called.

Went wrong: Went to the MLife desk to get my freeplay loaded, veteran (I've seen her before) desk rep says specialty machine "may exist" but says they don't have a list, suggests I go over to the high limit slots area and ask there. Two reps at high limit slots deny all knowledge of "specialty machines" and suggest I ask at the MLife desk.

Went wrong/right: Couldn't download any freeplay to a SuperTimes Play 8/5 JoB machine outside the high limit area so just played $40 and broke even. One machine wasn't touch-registering my holds. Do I have cold fingertips?

Went OK: Moved to a jammed $10 craps table, up and down. One kid hadn't played before, he had a pass line bet; after the point was set he put his whole stack on the pass line, stick advised him the correct way to play was to put min on the line and the rest on odds. Next roll - Yo Eleven, Kid Wins, Kid Wins!

Entertaining session. Shot 3 times, only one short one, but I always bet for the dealers and none of those paid. Girl shooter has a nice long roll, I wasn't spreading a lot of bets around, so I didn't make a lot off her roll, but threw her a green for karma. About a half hour later after a couple of bad suck outs, me and the guys at my end of the table are pounding on the rail and I decide to color up. I hear a female voice "Are you gay?"

I look up and see her looking at me, so I look at her quizzically, and then she gives me a thumbs up. Then I realized she saw me pounding the rail and had said "Are you OK?" But everybody else at the table heard what I heard, so much hilarity ensued.

Colored up -$130, considering one bet was a last second $100 odds bet booked while the about-to-be seven was in the air, not bad.

Lol!!! Too funny! Hey...I'll be checking into Four Seasons Friday night. I'll be in high limit slots hopefully getting handpays from freeplay. :)

Went right: $300 freeplay turned into $285 cash out on a $1 Triple Diamond 2-coin with no premium for playing the two coins.

I admit Triple Diamond is probably not the best low-variance game to use this on, but when you find a $1 machine that doesn't pay a premium for max coin, you tend to plonk down at it.

VP paytables in the same area sucked, 7/5 for triple play JoB at $0.25. Just as well, since I suck at VP.

Super Times Pay near the high limit was OK I guess at 8/5 for Job, but you have to play 6 coins instead of 5. According to the rules, Super Pay is supposed to kick in once every 14 hands or something. I think the math is probably bad on that. You give up 11% (8 vs 9) on the full house, plus you're paying 20% more (6 coins vs 5) for the privilege? But 7% of the time the multiplier kicks in. I dunno, that's why I don't play VP, give me a 1,000 play and let me get it over with, lol.

    THEhotel infrastructure report:
The wired internet jack in the wall is totally punched out, which is not the first time I've run into that at THEhotel. Supposedly they're renovating this year.

Speedtest.net pegs the wireless at 3.85mb down and 11.62 up. Will be interesting when I try to grab the local Boston broadcast portion of the July 4festivities off of Tivo.

Went right: Ordered jambalaya to go from Red White & Blue (it was the 4th, remember?). It had a few clams in it, which scared me, because people from New England know what havoc a bad clam can wreak. But it was actually good, if way overpriced. Ate the clams and survived.

While waiting for the food order, did a hit & run on mini-bacc, a shoe that had a player run in the first few hands at which point I arrived and then went total chop. Bet the chop, with a dealer bet on the first hand, one hand one way, next hand the other for 8 hands, bet the chop all the way and got up to leave + $200 right as they were bringing me the marker. Decided to keep and cash in the chips for some VP/slot play, which was a mistake.

After taunting the jambalaya clams, headed back down and got totally T-boned on machines, 8/5 triple play JoB and that same Triple Diamond $1 machine just mocked me. That's what happens when when the first day adrenaline is coursing.

Minus $985 for the day and only about 1/2 the usual tier credits/express comps, etc. to show for it. Within budget, no prob, but this is why after getting several hours out of your system on the first day and you're even, you should go watch Didiyaer Snyder in a bikini on MLife TV instead of pushing it.

Gonna have to pay a little more attention to the whole tier credit thing today in case they've decided to screw the machine players as well.

Went right: First day loss recalc'd at only minus $485 due to a $500 TITO strategically hidden down my balls.

Went OK: 9:00am roulette. Buy in for $200; early hit, then skipped with $100. Nobody ever bets the even numbers except in the 30's - why?

Went wrong: I spent $30 for a panama hat I thought would look cool. Every asshole in Las Vegas has the same hat.

Nothing like the 11:00pm cuppa joe in Vegas.

Hit a $25 craps table, up and down, kid next to me was from Chile, was trying to get his American swearing down.

    "Sit" he kept saying.

    "SHIT" I instructed him.

    "SIT"

"In the South of America; they're polite, and they only say Shit in extreme circumstances. In the North, this is what we say when the seven happens:"

    "FUCK YOU, YOU MOTHERFUCKING FUCKER"

So at least he has that going for him now.

Minus $500 on nickel Davinci Diamonds, the fucker. :drunk:

Hit that nickel Davinci Diamonds machine again today, only cost me $300 to win $895 on a bonus that kept retriggering for I think 20 spins overall.

Kept my cool despite the fact that Macker's mom was riding the little light on top of the machine, wicked hahd.

    HAHAHA

Not sure which I like more the Macker's mom reference, or the Boston accent. I played golf in Joisey weekend before last with 3 Boston guys and the accent was classic!

Just came up from House of Blues in MB - went down to see the Rev. Horton Heat, security line up out the ying yang and they want $200 bottle service, which, with all due respect to the Rev, makes me think Carlos Santana is in the house.
