5 nights in late August for $153 total including taxes. Basic rate was $27.30/night in the South Tower. I'll try for an upgrade at check in but at these rates, it would be hard to complain even if it fails. This is even less than what I paid last time I stayed at the off-Strip Travelodge.

All during the week? Was it an individual offer or an advertised rate? Congrats on the win. Got my 5 nights, over a weekend, for $224. First win of Vegas! Great location

    Gotta luv it!

Vegas rooms are still one of the best values in the world...129/nt for luxury rooms? I've paid that at the Hampton elsewhere.

I should have mentioned that it's for Su-Th. It was one of their promotional offers but not not an individual offer.

    Ballys

Ballys is a great deal on their rooms if you book the week or day that has the special lower rates.

Two weeks before your arrival date they will send you a special offer e-mail to upgrade for $10. more per night to the North Tower. Lucy

The $10/night would actually be worth it but I'd rather take my chances on getting a free upgrade or using the $20 trick at check in.

@ raraavis-- $220 for 5 nights at Bally's is still an awfully good deal. That's roughly what I paid when I was there in May.

I remember paying $25-30/night for a mid range Vegas hotel in 1977-78. After adjusting for inflation, that would be the equivalent of $88-106 today.

It's funny the way the mind works when paying for hotels in vegas. I went to Boston last year and paid $189 a night for a bed n breakfast room. It was clean, but outdated, no AC, had 2 beds and a couch and TV. just a place to crash, and me n my buddy loved it. Same thing in NYC back in 06, i paid $199 for a small outdated room at the new yorker right by Madison Sq garden. I liked it there too

Now, if I was given either of those same rooms free somewhere in Vegas, I'd prob hate it, and if I had to pay $189 a night for a badass room at a 5 star hotel(wynn, bellagio exct) I'd bitch and say no way. Pretty odd

:people try to tell others about something good to pass along and there are always those who have to criticize and make dumb comments.

If this is one of their recent promos, gambling losses wouldn't even matter. Those are offered to everyone.

Were they a Ballys gambler, they would probably have a room for 0.00.

Enjoy your trip!!! Ballys is a good hotel.

    lmao!

    That is me EXACTLY!

And this is a rate I get emailed all the time--and the only time we gambled there was when we had $25 free play coupon from the American Casino Guide!

And yes, I get comped rooms--but I play poker...haven't had a losing year since I began playing poker:Þ
(I have to take an annual solo trip to do this...while I am always up, DH isn't, so we typically break even as he is no allowed to tap into my winnings...oh, well, it IS more fun when he is there, if not more profitable!)

They are 1970s rates because you are getting a 1970s room

well, they haven't been renovated, and the north tower rooms have. i think that's a pretty good reason to say the south tower is crappy
