Yaldain, unfortunately there is no monorail from the airport to anywhere, so that will not be an option. The monorail runs only along the strip.

As for NYNY, I like it. I have only stayed there once, quite a few years ago, but make a point to visit the casino any time we are in Vegas. My recollection is that the room was a bit on the small side, but otherwise fine. There are quite a few different options for food, in all price ranges.

I am sure others who have stayed more recently can give more info on room choices.

The monorail doesn't run from the airport (and I don't mean "it doesn't go to NYNY", but that there is no monorail to the airport at all, to any property).

As for NYNY itself: its an OK place, I like the casino (though my wife doesn't). Lots to see and do in the immediate area.

They try to go for the younger crowd on weekends so there is lots of loud music and the bars can get crowded at times.

There is a pretty wide variety of food/dining choices here from bar food, pub fare, good mid to high end restaurants and an upscale food court.

I've never stayed there, so can't comment on the rooms other than they are an MGM resort so the rooms should be a good value for the money spent.

As said before the room I had was on the small side but was nice... Usually a pretty busy place with various eating options and minutes away from MGM montecarlo and Excalibur

It's the only place I stay. Staff is really nice. Is clean. I like it because of its location. Easy access to a lot of hotels. Great mix of people.

    Have fun.

My only complaint was that the room felt smaller than every other property I've stayed at. I like the casino though and can't beat a slice of pizza at 4am. I would stay there anytime I got a nice rate.

I've never stayed there, and I have not been in it on my last 2 visits...but I always liked NYNY. years back when I stayed on the south end at Luxor/Excalibur I enjoyed gambling there. Plus lots of decent cheap dining, and good bars to enjoy. And riding the roller coaster is always fun.

Shuttle Bus for $6 is the best way to come/go to any strip hotel from the airport imo

It's not very exciting, probably why we don't talk about it. But it's perfectly OK. Nothing wrong with it.

There is only monorails in between the hotels. have to take a cab or a bus to get there from the airport.

NYNY is one of our favorites and we stay there almost every trip for at least part of the trip. As others have said, the selection of food is great. They have several fast food places (pizza, sandwiches, fish, etc.) to more expensive places. I know there is a steak house there, can't remember the name, that I want to try when we go in a few weeks. We have saved up enough comp dollars (or whatever they are called) to go for free this time. We also like to gamble there. They always have affordable table games and they will count mine and my husband's play together. Not all places will do that.
The rooms are kind of on the small side but we are literally only in there to sleep and shower so it doesn't matter. They are always very clean and look updated--not run down. I know that we have to pay the extra fee, but I do enjoy the newspaper each day and the "free" internet. We also get to print out our boarding passes for "free". When we are staying there, we rarely stray very far away.
Someone else said that the pool isn't very good. We don't usually go swimming while there so that is one thing I don't know about. We are planning on giving it a try when we go later this month though.
NYNY seems to me to be a comfortable middle of the road kind of place. Not as high caliber as somewhere like the Bellagio but not low like Circus Circus.
There are not any monorails that go to NYNY at all. We always take a taxi if we aren't renting a car. It just seems quicker than taking a shuttle (we have done that before too) and I don't want to miss a second of my LV vacation. :)

NYNY is a decent place. Very short walk to MGM and Excal with connection to Luxor and MB. Short walk outside and into Monte Carlo and Aria.

The Italian restaurant at NYNY is great. Lots of other basic choices.

Rooms are just fine - not great.

Decent place. I guess I do not need to talk about monorail, but I will say a cab for us is the quickest and easy way there. Must be just over $10, tops. No traffic at all.

I love the NYNY. By Vegas standards it is relatively small, but it is easy to get around and has a great vibe. The rooms are definately on the small side, but they are very nice and the place is kept up well.

I love the pizza place by the dueling piano bar. You cant bear pizza at 2 am. Also, America, the Coffee Shop has good food and it doesnt ever seem to be crowded.

We have never stayed there and usually only do a walk thru. Last fall we were there with our daughter who is a senior at LSU. LSU football just happened to start playing when we got there, and of course, we couldn't get my husband to leave. He sat in the sports section (don't know what it is called), which he enjoyed, watching it on the big screens, while daughter and I gambled. I found that drink service was as good or better than we had at any other casino. In fact, while she was playing roulette, and I only watched, the service was as good as if I was playing, too. Of course, I was bankrolling her, and they probably knew that. Hey, LSU won, and daughter and I bet on them and won a little extra money. Wish we had bet more!!

We stayed there the past couple of trips.
Had not used the pool, but it looks like a basic pool.

Here is what I like about NYNY.
    - Plenty of places to eat right there.
    - The restrooms in the casino have cup holders.
    - Love the Coyote Ugly drinks right up stairs
    - A good selection of slots and usually a good number of the newer machines.
    - Just a short walk from the room to the casino. :nworthy:

What I don't like is the bathroom in the rooms. The bathrooms are poorly designed and the same regardless of the room you get.

I love to gamble at NYNY, so that's why I also always stay there (easier and quicker to find my room after an all-nighter). As said before, there is a good vibe there, and a younger crowd. I'm no spring chicken, but would rather be around a young crowd than a geriatric one!

Also, the layout is great, and the casino is just the right size to me. I get lost in Mandalay Bay, MGM and Ceasars!

If a small, standard room bothers you, then upgrade to a Marquis Suite, they are pretty nice and I think reasonable. If a great pool is important to you, then you will probably be happier staying somewhere else!

    Have fun!!:drunk:

I have stayed there my last three trips and really like the casino and restaurants. I also prefer the location as it is centered around the other MGM properties.

America seems to have many mixed reviews on this site, but I have always had good breakfast food there and the country fried steak smothered in gravy with a fried egg on top at 3am is one of my favorite meals after a long day of booze and gambling.

    I've stayed there twice.

Like everyone else said, the rooms are a little small, but it's nice. The casino and bars there are fun, too, and the location is excellent.

It isn't my favorite place, but it is very nice. The last time I went was for a bachelor party, and it seems to really fit nicely with that sort of crowd ... late-20s, early-30s.

Be a jerk like I was last time I stayed there, and when you check in, ask the lady at the counter if the statue outside is the real Statue of Liberty. It isn't, but a bit of trivia ... the postal service used it instead of the real statue on their forever stamp. (true story ... look it up)
