Quite the Trip - Trip Report 6/14-6/23

Great trip…. All names have been changed to protect…. us.


This trip report will be up for a couple days


First off apologies for the daily trip report, and me not keeping up with it.
I went out with my parents (different room), O (college buddy), S (High School Buddy), and myself L. We also met up with S’ two college buddies out there. We’re all in our mid 20s. 25 to be exact.

O and I were flying together on Southwest at 6:15 from BWI. S was flying separate on a connecting flight through Atlanta. He left before us, so we got to the airport about 3:00 to go to DuClaw to grab a burger and a beer pre-security. We now heard from S that he missed his flight. Airtran pulled out early, and he was at the bar till the last minute…not a good idea but I guess he got lost up in time. He was put on standby but he wouldn’t get there that night. His connecting flight would be gone by the time he got to ATL. We’re now through security having a beer to see if he can get on his standby, but no success. At least we all got to have a few brews together. O and I decide to pitch in with S and buy a new flight out tonight so he gets there. We hit up the wine bar to grab a wine and a beer, and then board our flight. I poured the gin shots in to my Nalgene and bought an orange juice to drink on the plane. No problems there, as O did the same. S made his flight, despite a medical emergency on the way there, but he did make his connecting flight….His luck wasn’t so hot so far. O and I grabbed a taxi, the cabbie asked me which way to take which I thanked him for. We took the strip to THE Hotel. Checked in and basically passed out until 3am. S got there and we finally woke up and went down to the 24 hour grill (cant remember the name) at Mandalay. We hadn’t yet had a beer in Vegas, so it was funny to watch the drunks. The food was decent diner food, and had a few Sam Adams, and a peach long island (seemed girly but got the party started).

We went back up to the room and we wanted more beer, but there wasn’t any bars open. We checked all of Mandalay Place. So we all went in to buy 5 Stella’s from room service at 4:30am. 50 bucks with tip wasn’t a good deal, but it was our first day. So we all had Stella’s while the sun rose outside the window. Jumped in the deep tub at THE Hotel. It was relaxing. We were hungry so we ran across the street to get a 18 of beer and a 350ml of Svedka. We spent some time up in the room and then headed down to the Wave pool. Then we played at the Casino that overlooks the pool, a bit roulette and VP. After that my parents came up to take a look at the hotel room, and then drove us over to go to the Pepper concert at the pool at Hard Rock. It was awesome. The 35 dollar Monster and Vodka was ridiculously expensive but it got the job done for sure. Jumped in the pool a few times and then back to the concert. Went back to THE Hotel after that.

Saturday:
Got up to grab some breakfast so we went to Ri-Ra at Mandalay Place. Irish bar was a great place to start the morning. After that we went down to the pool. We met up with S’s two college buddies actually before breakfast. They were at the Mandalay Bay, but it was time for us to check out, so I actually dropped my luggage in my parents car to unload later. This is where I left my phone (you’ll need to know this later) I also put my wallet (minus my credit card and ID) in a hidden pouch that I didn’t know I had in my suitcase. See where I’m going with this?.... We met a nice couple there and we all hung with them. They bought us a round, and so forth. We’re now checked out so we headed to the Wyndham. After unpacking my bags, I realized I lost my wallet and phone. I called the one credit card company and canceled the only card I had in there. Long story short I found my wallet and found the phone and all was well. I think we went to Toby Keith’s for dinner on Sat night.

Sunday:
We got up and got ready. Headed to the Hofbrauhaus for the Germany game. I’d say all of the local German population was there. My buddy was an a$$ and wore his Italy Jersey even though they weren’t playing but I had my Schweinsteiger jersey on that had just came in the mail before I left. Was a great game, and had 4 liter beers. I liked the seasonal Dark Hefeweizen. We then met people and hung with a bachelor party all drinking from das boots. Next was the stein holding competition. I came in third, and O almost won, and should have, but the judge didn’t see who lowered it first. A great time was had there. We then went to the Hard Rock to gamble, and hang out. We ended up hanging by the pool and I believe going to Ellis Island that night for the steak special.

Monday:
I got up and got a workout in, finally. Then grabbed some lunch, beers in the cooler, and went to the pool. I was down with my parents and my buddy O. We met up at the piano bar later that night.

Tuesday:
I went to the pool during the day. I believe we went to Fremont on Tuesday night. We went to the bar at MSS to have the Pale ale, which wasn’t half bad.

Wednesday:
I believe this was the day we got really messed up. We drank a bunch in the room. Wine pong… Went to the pool and relaxed for quite a bit. My parents got us all tickets to Tony and Tina’s wedding. I’ve seen it before and loved it, but this time it was at Bally’s. Better location. We walk in and there is this stunning girl in white sitting at the table. Thinking she’s part of the show I make no notice that she’s looking at me. I’m there with my boys and my parents. So my mom went over there to talk to people, and her mom and my mom started chatting it up. Next thing I know everyone is dancing, and her mom comes to ask me to dance. Of course I do. Her mom already loves me, and her sister does too because we all went out that night. Now S stayed in, but O came out with this girl and her sister. We went to Margaritaville on apparently rap night? I was confused as to why they would play this but it was fine, and then to Toby Keith’s after hearing she likes country music. Did some dancing there and I walked her and her sister back to Mandalay Bay.

Thursday:
I invite her to the pool at the Wyndham. Chilling at the pool all day, and then we went out at night. Took my dad to Hash House and to check out the M Resort for his Bday. Met up with one of S’s friends who lives in Vegas and got him punked by security at Carnivale Court. Quite funny. The girl and I kept staying out, but my buddies went home. We went to Gilley’s but it was empty so we walked in and left. I have no clue if there was any cover anywhere, because with her I wouldn’t need one, absolutely gorgeous. Went back to Toby Keith’s, then walked up to the Wynn/Encore (she hadn’t been) and got a cab back to my hotel, we stayed up to watch the sunrise. I walked her back to her hotel on Friday morning.

Friday:
I told her I’d stay in contact with her, and she said she might come out to see me sometime. I cabbed back to the Wyndham to meet up with my buddies who were just waking up so we had some beers and went to the pool. At night I went out with my parents to the strip and walked from Harrah’s to the Wynn. I went home to meet up with my buddies but they were sleeping, so I got one of them up to pregame and go out, but we ended up passing out.
Saturday:
We got up in the morning had breakfast and got ready to leave. Went to the airport and had some drinks. It was a blast of a trip. Drank a lot, relaxed a lot, and partied a lot.

Oh and also the girl I met at the Tony and Tina’s is actually flying out to hang with me on Friday… Who says what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas?

 

I missed some parts but I didn't realize it sucked that bad....

 

Give it time my man.

 

Lol I worked so hard trying to remember what happened. I wasted most of it away with drinks

 

I often wonder how so many ppl on here remember every minute detail LOL I usually can't remember what I did a few hours earlier

 

So what.....at least you got the girl.

So a bit fuzzy but fun! Hope the girl looks just as good outside of Vegas! LOL!

 

It doesn't stay in Vegas, I was out at Carnaval Court celebrating my 30th birthday last year and met a guy--we are getting married on October 12.

I recorded a few slot machines I played one night. In the morning I was watching them over breakfast while showing my wife and didn't recall how they got recorded because I have no recollection of playing them.

Thanks! We're having a blast already planned a second trip...who ever thought... Las Vegas as a place to meet a significant other hahaha.
