    Hello all,
My Dear wife and I are taking her mother to vegas next month, We have booked a 2 Bedroom penthouse suite at the Mirage.
My question is where do we check in at. The main check in counter, Or does the hotel have a Lounge for penthouse guests, I saw somewhere on line that they have a Invited guest check in, But am confused.
Thanks for any input you can offer.

according to the Mirage website, when you book a Penthouse suite, you are able to use the invited guest line.

You get to use the VIP lounge if you book the Mirage's "Suite Life" package. I didn't know you could get a Penthouse suite without booking this, but I may be wrong. Anyway, it's not that great of a lounge and it's not open very late so you're not missing much. If you want to see some pics of the one we had (D-16) there's a link to my FB album in my TR:

you can always cancel your reservation at rack rate if you find a better deal. the VIP lounge is generally reserved for players.

I'm guessing, but that means that you'd check in just to the right (20 feet) of the main checkin counters. I've not seen a line there while I've toiled in the regular mosh pit checkin.

I understand from reading here that high rollers check in @ the VIP players lounge, but don't believe that would apply to your penthouse stay unless they tell you so. You could always call to confirm...but you're not missing much. Splurge on the limo and you'll never even notice that you missed a lounge check-in.

I have stayed in the 1-br penthouse. Pretty amazing room!

As usual.. we booked under one rate and then we noticed a lower price/sale/promotion and called the hotel about it. It's never been a problem for them to honor the lower rate.
@thread starter... keep an eye on rates and if you see a better price offered through the Mirage, call them on it!

We checked in through the regular check in. One thing I REALLY dislike about the Mirage check in is they have a line for each check in associate. Normally check in's have 1 big line and it splits off when you reach the next available check in associate.
The Mirage has a different line for each check in person. So.. it really sucks when the line your in does not move and you watch the lines on each side of you move quickly! We got stuck behind some family that must have been talking to the check in girl for nearly an hour. We were pissed since check in line took over an hour when it was 15 min for everyone around us!

I do not know of any penthouse lounge but when you get off the elevator on the penthouse level there is a small open lounge-like area with a very small bar and some seating w/strip view. The bar itself was closed but it was a nice private area to "lounge".

Negatives about our penthouse stay at the Mirage...
    Check in line delays.
Our room key got deactivated. Took over 1/2 of waiting outside our room door to fix it.
A woman (some kind of host/staff) opened the door to our locked room thinking it was an empty room. We were shocked!
Never had those problems anywhere else but I will still stay/recommend this room!

both the B and MGM are the same way. in fact i've never seen a hotel in Vegas that had just one big line.

So then what is the room to the far right of check in counter.
Or directly to your right as you enter the hotel going toward the check in counter.

there is a VIP lounge for check-in. but whether or not you can check-in there depends on whether they put you in the system as VIP. generally that's reserved for players on a comp.

Harrah's and Bally's both have a single line, when you get to the front you go to the next available clerk. Maybe it's a CET vs MGM thing.

Sorry, Dale. Here's a direct link, hope it works - they're supposed to be public, but with FB who knows what the heck has changed with that site since I posted. The Mirage room pics start about halfway thru the album if you can get on. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.431480866863674.106383.100000052937574&type=3

I would call the Mirage and ask directly how you are showing in the system - it can't hurt, and (as I've said elsewhere) their customer service reps are really nice. :peace:

Have you stayed at THEHotel? They have 1 long line that splits off when you get to the next open clerk.

Thanks for the update! Did you e-mail them asking about the limo and check-in, or did they e-mail you proactively?

Dale - if you've never been VIP at the Mirage before, a nice perk is you will notice when you check in they have coffee, waters, juice and snacks in that VIP lounge. You can visit that lounge anytime during your stay so if you're out and about on the casino floor and want something, just pop in that area. We used to be real regulars at the Mirage before the big casino & hotel remodel so they seemed to just recognize us but if they ask, just give them your room# and you're good to go.

Sounds like a very cool room....enjoy your trip! Dino

This is pretty much the policy of all MGM Mirage hotels when you book one of their higher-end suites. The same is true of the Sky Suites at Aria, the SkyLofts at the MGM, etc. Anyway, the Mirage is a fun place and the penthouses are beautiful. They have great food and the use of the VIP lounge is actually a pretty nice benefit. As someone mentioned above, they have all kinds of snacks and beverages in there. You will almost certainly be given a VIP line pass for the buffet and Cafe as well.
