we may not rent a car on our next trip but would like to check out emerald island in henderson.

how hard would it be to bus it from the strip or if we shuttle to sam`s town how far is it from there? could maybe cab it from sam`s town and back or is it worth the hassle?

    I'm curious too!

Wish I could help you on the logistics, survivor, but I've been wondering about this place myself and we'll have a car.

Does anyone know what the "free gift with sign up" coupon from the ACG gets you?

Also, how's the food in their cafe?

We might check this place out on our next trip.

    Thanks.

    Cheers,
    Kelly

Forget the bus, you can walk in and rent a car at any rental car location, print out some discount and upgrade coupons from many web sites, no air port fees and the like. You can take the 215 freeway or Boulder Highway there, there are a few interesting offerings in Henderson, such as the El Dorado, the Rainbow, Emerald Island, The Joker's Wild, the Klondike on Sunset,Sunset Station, and on the Boulder Highway; Cannery East, the Long Horn, Sam's Town, Arizona Carlie's, and some other ones you've never even heard of.

You can valet a rental car anywhere, who cares if they ding it. Just get the rental car insurance and it's demolition derby!

Just don't get too drunk if you're driving, Vegas is Hard on drunk drivers.

You'll do prison time with a cell mate named Bubba.

You'll see the other side of Vegas. I'll be there, in my cleanest blue jeans and tee shirt, drink in one hand, cigar in the other, banging away on Video Poker, or at the $1 Craps Table at the Joker's Wild.

Don't eat at Emerald Island, try the Rainbow next door. Get a 241 coupon from the local paper in the box outside the door. Try the meat loaf, it's to die for!

I had that same idea my last trip. To rent a car from the airport was only about 12 or 13 dollars a day. That SAME rental car from the 4 queens was listed as 125 dollars a day. That's a HUGE difference in price for the SAME car just from a different location. Sometimes it's cheaper to rent from the airport.

Needless to say I'm still 11 years of trips without a rental car yet. I took the bus to Jokers Wild a few trips ago. Had a blast and went on a long 45 to 50 minute streak where I held onto the dice hitting point after point after point. It was a great way to turn 20 bucks into 50.
