Walking distance Vdara-Aria/Bellagio

We are looking @ booking Vdara and was wondering how long of a walk it is to Aria or Bellagio? I have a medical condition that sometimes makes walking an adventure if not downright risky. But I like to get out earlier than my wife and this may be an issue with Vdara.

 

Both Bellagio and Aria are a short walk from Vdara.

You can get to Aria by walking the somewhat circular traffic path.

You can get to Bellagio through the back doors of Vdara.

I'd say less than 5 minutes to walk into both properties and both paths are scooter-friendly.

From Vdara to Bellagio you walk out the back door and walk under the Bellagio tram stop. And then past the Spa tower and around to the front desk, then the casino.

From Vdara to Aria you go out the front door and around the OUTSIDE (how stupid by the City Center Designers), to the back door of Aria and you are very close to the casino. The nearest tram stop to Aria from Vdara would require you backtrack to Bellagio, then get off at the Crystals stop, which then involve a long walk into Aria. Or take tram to Monte Carlo/Aria stop and walk back to Aria.

 

Other than the directions given, I would ask why book a place that requires extra walking? Why not book directly at Bellagio or Aria. And, if you will be walking to the strip, then maybe Bellagio vs Aria as Aria is quite a ways to the strip for one challenged with walking.

 

Thank you all. Reply to nostresshere: fair question and I would LOVE to book Aria or Bellagio but Vdara is 60-100$/nt less than Aria and even more for B. We are looking @ 4 nts and weighing savings vs. staying in the room until my wife can go with me. But I do like to gamble so if the walk to one of those casinos wasn't too far, might be able to make it. Plus Vdara is lake view which makes staying in the room a little while longer more reasonable for me. Thanks again.

 

I have stayed at all three and if Vdara is more in your price range, go for it - to get to Aria, when you walk out of the front doors of VDara you just have to go left and walk across a walkway and there is an entrance that takes you right into the casino. It is not that far of a walk and there are no stairs etc.

For Bellagio, there is a walkway from the VDara lobby that takes you to Bellagio. I do have to say that is a bit of a longer walk, because you do end up where the tram entrance is at the Spa tower portion of the resort and you have a good long ways to get to the casino area, but if you pace yourself it will be fine. I loved VDara and I am sure you will too - the one thing you should know is that there are virtually no dining options at VDara except for a small market type place in the lobby and room service of course, but that doesn't matter because Aria and Bellagio have plenty of things to choose from.

If walking is really that difficult because of your medical issue, then concentrating your play at Aria would be the best option because the casino has a lot of great gaming and it is the closest and easiest walk from VDara. You might also want to look into renting a car, even for a day or two, if you can find a good deal (there is an AVIS car rental at Aria) because you would be able to see more of Vegas and try out different casinos without doing all the walking. And a rental car would end up being a lot cheaper than taking taxis everywhere.

Do not take the tram.

I repeat. DO NOT TAKE THE TRAM! It takes way longer to walk to the tram than it does to walk directly to the casino.

 

I agree about not taking the tram, especially when walking is an issue - that tram is not much of a timesaver in this case. Technically it is less than a five minute walk to Bellagio but to get anywhere in the hotel that the OP would want to see is definitely longer, depending on how fast he walks etc. Now that I think of it, I believe MGM properties can arrange for a motorized scooter if that would be easier - you could just call the VDara front desk and ask how much it would be to rent one. Then you could zip all over the place and not have to worry about the walking (especially since it is a serious health issue).

I guess some HIGH floors might look over the top of Bellagio Spa Tower.

Back to your walking issues. Have you considered other hotels - like Mandalay Bay. Elevators come right out close to casino floor.

 

I had 40th floor lake view at Vdara and it was an amazing view. Luckily they upgraded me to corner suite so that made it much better, but I'd say there are many normal lake view rooms that provide a nice view of the fountain show (no sound of course). Obviously the closer you can get to the strip side, the better.

As for walking, I agree Aria is a breeze. Probably quicker from Vdara into Aria casino than many properties are to their own casinos (including Bellagio spa tower to Bellagio casino).
