I'll be in LV 6/27-7/2. I can get 5 nights comped for the following and am having trouble deciding which to choose:

    Harrah's Classic and Premium room
    Flamingo FAB Deluxe
    Ballys South Tower
    Paris Luxury
    Planet Hollywood Hip

My preference is probably Flamingo, but i've not stayed in the FAB rooms yet. I know they are refurbished rooms. Are there any other choices substantially better in terms of room? What are the chances of booking Flamingo FAB and getting a free upgrade to a GO room? Or Ballys South and upgrade to North Tower?

The chances of getting an upgrade to a GO room or a Bally's North tower room depend on a few variables. Of course, a nice tip to the check-in clerk can help get what you want.

I don't really know anything about you and your room preferences, but if I were to be offered a Flamingo FAB room for free, I would be quite content.

Oh, I guess I missed Planet Hollywood on your list. In that case, I agree with Pinedream.

Thanks for the feedback so far. My fave location is Flamingo/Bally's, but if other room choices I've listed are significantly better, that's what I would like to know. I've stayed ay Harrah's base rooms, but I don't think I've stayed in a premium room. I've never stayed at PH.

Harrahs premium is a classic that has been more recently redone...coffee maker and flat screen. Bally's south is the biggest but would go with Paris Luxury, is IMO nicer. Flamingo is one of my favorites due to being closer to the main intersection (overpass) and quick exit to the sidewalk. PH I never stay at just because I am older and try to avoid the party crowd. They all have their benefits/detractions...go with location first and work from there. Which casino do you spend more time in? I tend to gravitate towards Harrahs, Flamingo, Paris but that is purely my preferences. Bally's has great size rooms, just not my favorite casino to play in.

I'd go with Paris as my first choice and then Planet Ho as my second.

    First choice: Paris Luxury

Planet Hollywood. However, if you are going with a significant other, then it would be Paris.

The standard Paris Luxury rooms are the original rooms from when the hotel opened, if I'm not mistaken. Pictures I've seen from my research seem worn down (relative to newer rooms like PH, Flamingo Fab, etc) with the armoire/tube tv deal from the 90s. Granted I've never stayed at Paris, but I've done a lot of research over the years and it's never been an option for me when making a list in my head. Red Room is what you'd want to upgrade to if you wanted to risk it.

I came across this problem for my trip in July. Was also comped for 5 nights for all the choices above and went for the Paris. I def agree with the outdated rooms but did verify they remodeled the top 5 floors in the last 5 years. Also verified this through recent tripadvisor.com and youtube videos. So I will shoot for one of those....

Don't get me wrong, I love the overall Planet Hollywood Property. But, the basic hollywood hip rooms were a disappointment to me. They were dark, and the windows were small and needed cleaning. I did move after the first night to a resort room, and the resort room had bigger windows, was larger, and had a big bathroom.

This trip I opted for a Paris Red Room (the remodeled rooms on the top floors), and I am looking forward to staying at the Paris. The rooms look nice, and I have always enjoyed the fact that the property isn't a hike to the strip. Plus, it is connected to Bally's. and right next door to PH.

I don't think you can go wrong with Paris....Just try for a Red Room.

I've stayed at Planet Hollywood, Paris and Harrahs, and that's the order I would rank them in. Can't comment on the others, but that is my rank based on hold old the rooms are and the overall cleanliness of the hotel/rooms.

    Tough to answer.

In terms of how CET itself values them, the PH and Paris rooms are the most expensive, so you could call them the "best". But Ive stayed in a Hollywood Hip room, and it was nice, but not huge or breathtaking. Just a standard room in a nice property.

Its worth noting that the pools at PH and Paris aren't as done up as the Flamingo one (but also less crowd/noise if you're looking to avoid that).

Also worth noting that "Fab Deluxe" has no strip view. The ones with strip view are called "Fab Luxury".

If it was me I'd take the Paris comp, but thats because I'm slowly trying out new hotels every trip, and thats the hardest comp for me to get of the listed properties I havent stayed at. Flamingo/Bally's/Rio comps are more common. But if you're not trying to "collect em all" that likely wont matter.

Having stayed in all of these

PH rooms are considerably nicer than the rest--though not necessarily the largest. MUCH nicer than Paris std rooms (feels like grandma's guest room--NOT the feeling I am looking for in Vegas) Having read many many threads here & at trip advisor, the $20 trick seems to nearly always get an upgrade to a resort room at PH, but is a no go for a Red Room at Paris.
(btw, if my significant other booked Paris and tells me we could have stayed at PH, I'm ticked...)

PH. I like the whole place better than the others on the list.

Call me crazy (or old school), but I love Caesar's. The rooms are decadent and the facility is central to everything (Bellagio, Cosmo, Forum Shops, etc). Yes, the place is massive and no matter how much you eat you will lose weight just be walking around the casino, but it has everything you could possibly ask for.

Stayed there for a conference last year for 4 nights and would not hesistate to go back. The eye candy at Pussycat Dolls on Thursdays nights/weekends is a plus. Gigantic sports book and every new slot machine in existence. Bobby Flay's Mesa Grille and Shadow Bar make it a winner in my book.
