I am on a major cheeseburger jag lately and looking for some input on good old fashioned cheeseburgers and fries.

No filet mignon or kobe beef, just good a standard greasy gut bomb at a decent price.

    Any suggestions?

    Dirty greasy spoon cafe

If your in the mood for " standard greasy gut bomb at a decent price "
Why not try, The Heart Attack Grill, if you don't mind the few extra calories. That's pretty much all the sell, cheese burgers, hamburger's

Absolutely ditto. The Binions burgers are overrated. I keep trying them, expecting to be impressed, and i've had them at the bar and the diner, and still, i'm baffled as to how slightly below average they are, yet they receive praise all around.

The burger at 777 is great. Add an order of wings.... Dyno-mite!

We were under the impression last summer that the meat they make the Binion's burgers out of had been downgraded.

Something was just not as good about them. I didn't even bother last trip.

Same here - plus who the hell wants potato salad with a burger - what am I at a picnic? Fries baby! You need fries and the Binions counter just doesnt have them.

Please tell me I am wrong.

Mermaids for fries for sure and Burger and fries (garlic fries-app) at the 777!!!

I get a Binion's cheeseburger everytime I go downtown and have never been disappointed. To be fair I have not tried some of the other recommendations from downtown. I have however tried the burger at a couple of the strip so called high end burger joints. Give me a Binion's cheeseburger everytime. Some of the other recommendations to sound very good though.

PS; I get frys with my burger at Binion's every time.

I can completely understand getting a Binions burger over BLT Burger or Holsteins based on price, but saying that it's a better burger based on merit alone? C'mon man.

Both BLT and Holsteins know how to make a mean burger. I'm talking best i've ever had. For the price, there are better options, but they do make some juicy top notch burgers compared to Binions, and everyone else in the Burger world. :nworthy:
