I'm planning a new trip and can get 3 free nights there. I have gambled there before and love their casino. I'm not a room snob, but I do like a clean room to relax in when luck is evading me.

I have stayed at Harrah's twice now

First time in 2008...... had a Mardi Gras tower room, that faced onto the east side (not strip side) of the hotel ........very quiet , had 2 queen beds, lots of room for two persons

2nd time was last month .......had a luxury room , that faced strip and had a balcony, again lots of room for two ppl, with 2 queen beds .....and a coffee pot!! :)

Check out my TR (May 13-18) I have pics there too

I have stayed there about a dozen times or so, and have never had a bad experience.
All the rooms have been clean and comfortable for the price. The upgraded rooms (premium,I believe) have the nicer flatscreens and TV's in the bathroom. The rooms in the Mardi Gras tower are older and most still have CRT tv's, but some also have a small balcony, so it's a trade-off.
I've also stayed in a petite suite, but not worth the extra expense IMHO, a bigger room, but just with dead space, nothing extra in ammenities.

Just got back from my 4th time staying in the Mardi Gras tower always have had balcony, flat screen tvs (one in the bathroom too) and coffee pot. If you stay just ask for Mardi Gras tower "quiet" side this would be the even numbers (the odd numbers are on the pool side and the music from pool during the day/carnival court at night & now throw in the construction noise from the IP very noisy!!) They put us on the pool side first and I immediately changed rooms to the opposite side very quiet over there.

Thanks for the responses and information! I love their casino, so I'll have a great time there. I love the location with Mirage right across the street.

Well, even if the rooms were just so-so, its usually worth it for the location. But their rooms, despite being on the small side, and very basic, have always been clean and comfy in my experience. Won't blown you away, but little to disappoint, especially if you are like me, and mainly looking for a place to park your bags while you party, and take naps.

You forgot to mention the prime location also allows you to collect the most cards for "girls direct to your room" or whatever their slogans are...
Other than that, get a strip view if possible, and spend as much time outside of the room, as the amenities aren't that great, but it's a room, has a bed, and I never felt unsafe. The location is prime for other casinos (Mirage, Palazzo, Venitian, etc.).

I stayed at Harrah's in all three of my trips this year. The first two times I just got the Classic room. Nothing spectacular but the first time which was in February I had a large bathroom. Second time in March it was okay. Yet the third time which was last week was awesome. It was for three days comped and I booked a Premium Room. I was heading there straight after work so I will be arriving late. Got there around 10:30pm/11:00pm. Was automatically upgraded to an Executive Suite on the 19th Floor. Very nice. Has a jacuzzi with free Wifi. Wifi? At Harris? Didn't know they do.

Love the beds at Harrah's. Reminds me of the Sofitel in Montreal and the Wynn/Encore.

I have stayed on the 31, 35 floors of Carnival Tower...MIL was on the 29th floor. We had no problems with the rooms, clean. Frankly, I think that Harrahs gets a bad rap from people who have never stayed there. We find the common areas, hallways, elevators, etc to be much better kept up than those at Flamingo or Bally's.

Ive had some pretty average rooms in my past stays and still had a good time. Just as long as it isn't smelly and dirty I'll be fine. I was at Paris and the room wasn't so hot. The wallpaper was peeling on one wall and the were black marks on the wall inside and outside the room. Same with PH. But, I loved both stays. Just as long as they have in-room safes, I'll give a little on the decor.

I have stayed at Harrah's at least 4-5 times and have never had a problem with the room. They've always been clean and comfortable, which is pretty much all we require. While they are not the fanciest rooms we've stayed in, they do the trick, and the location is hard to beat.

Their rooms are fine. Not overly large, but clean and comfortable.

I've read a number of times that their rooms are small.

Their location is good but I wouldn't say "great" like most people do. I think Flamingo, Bill's, and Bally's are the best, smack dab in the middle.

I found the room very clean...but the walls were paper thin. The old couple in the room next door got up at 5am everyday while we were there and usually had a coughing fit in their bathroom that echoed into our room for a good 30 minutes. We had an incident at the pool where the pool attendant tried to charge us $10 for towels as a joke and wouldn't give it up and this was 30 minutes until the pool closed...just give us the towels already!! And then on the last night, the smoke detector(?) started beeping once every minute at 3am, they gave us a complimentary late check out for that. I thought the room was very clean and could be comfortable, but next time I'd ask to get a room where there was no in the adjoining room.

Their Classic, Luxury, Deluxe are all 350 sq feet...just like the basic Flamingo rooms. Their mini suite is over 500 square feet.
