Ugly Bally's room or nicer Flamingo room?

I already have a Bally's south tower room booked for a cheap price for the last two nights. Was going to spend downtown the first three nights.

    HOWEVER,

I have reconsidered and want to spend the entire 5 nights on the strip. I want to avoid IP and Harrahs due to the construction. Here are the prices I'm looking at, including tax.

    Bally's south tower $380

Bally's north tower $500 (I would not want to pay that much more)

    Flamingo Fab Luxury $475

    Flamingo Go Deluxe $515

I'm still confused about the differences in the Flamingo rooms. It seems the Fab Luxury has a view...but does it also have the larger flat screen, the second TV in the bathroom, the iPod docking station? We're a mother and son so we don't want any un-private bathroom doors either.

My hours have been cut at work so budget IS an issue; however, this is our first trip to Vegas in five years and don't really want an ugly room either. We do probably spend more time in the room than most people to relax and appreciate comfortable beds and nice TV's since we have neither at home.

    Please give me your thoughts.

judging by your title, you kinda are already leaning a certain way right?

i've never stayed in flamingo, but i can tell you that bally's south tower room isn't pretty. don't get me wrong, i love it! but we rarely are in our room. i thought the room was perfectly adequate. the tv was old (not flatscreen), but the beds seemed to be comfortable. i'm not very picky about beds though. i'm ok sleeping in a sleeping bag on the ground when i go camping, so you might want to get more opinions on their beds.

we got bally's for 5 nights for $220 (yes, that includes taxes)! but that is sun-thurs. it will be more expensive on the weekend. do you use smartvegas.com at all? that is where i found a promo code that got us the $44 a night rate.

i'm surprised that flamingo is more expensive than bally's. every time i've checked rates, flamingo was cheaper (not by much). for our dates, we could have booked the basic flamingo room for $35 a night, but we like bally's a lot (the hotel and the casino).

    good luck!

Do you have a TR card? Did you log in and click on "Reservations". That seems high for Bally's South....I got a granddaughter and 3 friends (with only a couple points on their cards) 5 nites in March (Spring break) a room for 5 nites for $188. by going thru the reservations tab. :)

My TR card is out of date. Three of the Ballys nights are under $50.00...I didn't think that was bad. The Friday & Saturday are a little over $100.00 each.

Unless it is a very busy time ballys will upgrade you to a north tower room free at check in

It's Sept. 6-11. Not sure how busy it will be. There are Gay Pride activities that weekend.

oh darn! sorry i don't have any other sneaky ways to get good deals.

we were actually at bally's last sept. 11-14. we couldn't check in until about 6pm, and there was nothing available to upgrade  the clerk told me a convention had just checked in and pretty much gobbled up all the rooms. he was nice and gave us a fridge though . and we'll be at bally's in two weeks. i just checked the convention calendar, and there will be a piercing convention checking in on the same day we are! so i want to make sure we get there early to check in! good luck!

That is opening weekend of the NFL season Ill be there the same weekend At either Bellagio or aria 9/7- 9/10 then caesars 9/10- 9/13 Ballys will most likely upgrade you to a north tower room free or with a $20 at check in.

I just checked the convention calendar and they do have some things for that time period but when I click "more details" it goes back to the same page and doesn't say how many people are expected.

What do you mean your TR card is out of date? Did you check anyways? My MIL hasn't stepped foot in a CET property in 3 years and she got 4 free nights at Harrahs this past trip, and she is an ulta low roller. If you didn't check the calendar logged in, please try. Fri and Sat will probably not be free but your other nights will be.

I got my TR card either 6 or 8 years ago. I did try to enter the # and it did not recognize it.

    I vote for Bally's
    Location wins for me.
Had 2 bad experiences @ Flamingo.
    Dirty room when checking in.
And AC and heat wires crossed in room.

well i actually don't know what the correct website is to check these kinds of things. i looked at two sites when looking at my dates, and they list number of attendees. when putting in your dates, it doesn't look like much is going on.

Does anyone know the amenities in the Fab Luxury or if the Flamingo bathroom doors are too see-through?

We stayed ( for one night) in the Fab room in February, we did move due to the fact that the room was noisy and actually dirty. We did get upgraded to a Go room for no charge. The bathrooms in the FAB room we were in had not been upgraded at all. The usual old room. We are going to try again in November as the price was right, hopefully the room will be cleaner than it was in February!!!

I just stayed at Bally's and Paris and I would tell you to pick Flamingo or Paris before Bally's. I was in North Tower. Room was huge but bathroom was very plain. Paris is much nicer. Flamingo GO rooms are great too. I was comped for my stay as well for a point of reference.

I stayed at Ballys South tower New Years Eve and it was better than I expected. I was assuming it would lower than low end lodging. It wasn't Caesar's Augustus, but it was more than adequit. Casino wise I was in Paris more than Bally's.I have never stayed in the Flamingo.

I'm still here...haven't booked anything else yet.

Hard to believe that price would include Friday & Saturday but it appears that it does for my dates. For that price it's hard to turn down.
