Just curious if anyone has tried Lipo Flavonoid as a solution to ringing in the ear?

We both have it and in addition my wife has Menieres.

There are good and bad reviews on the "Internets" and just I would check here with all the medical experts on the board.

Well, that's what we have been told also, but now they are advertizing this as a solution. Just thought I'd check.
There are a couple of people in on-line reviews who claim it worked. More who say it didn't.

I haven't tried it, but I'm going to keep an eye on this thread to see if it worked for anyone. That ringing is so annoying.

I have it bad in my right ear. I did a series of treatments with a structural integration person who used the Rolfing method. When she worked on my neck and right shoulder my ringing went from a scream to a dull buzz. It lasted about 2 days. :( Darnit.

I found some info on google that I tried....50mg zinc daily. I've been taking it for a little over 6 months now.
My tinnitus, which what ringing the ears is...hasn't gone away, but it has subsided..at least it doesn't bother me as much as it used to...I can go to sleep at night....
Google zinc and you will see what all it does for you..It's healer....good for the immume system.
It's not expensive....usually comes in 100 or 200 caplets per bottle.

    Wow, This thread is timely.

One of my friends had an MRI about 1 month ago and his ears have not stopped ringing/buzzing. Heaid the MRI machine was so loud. He never had a problem with ringing in his his ears prior to the MRI.

He has been to 3 specialists here in Connecticut as recently as 6 days ago and was told as mentioned above there is no cure for this.

I'll keep an eye on this thread too.

    Thanks for the link, Joe...Interesting...

The ringing in my ears started when I was taking a medication a few years ago....it was one of the stated side effects..I thought that when I stopped taking the med the ringing would go away, but it didn't...I doubt that there is anything that will make it go away completely, but zinc has helped me - some - at least enough that it isn't so annoying.

    Ringing in the Ears

I am now 89 years old and can't remember ever not having head noises that the medical people call ringing in the ears. Went thru many tests over the years and nothing was improved with the treatments recommended. I feel the noise I have is not in the ears, but somewhere else in my head. Although there are times when it is more noticeable, I have learned to accept it and ignore it. I have lived quite normally but it is a nuisance. Doctors don't seem to have a clue but don't hesitate to make one think they do and happily take your money.

I have a bad case of it. I can't remember when it started but it seems to have gotten worse. My ear doctor told me to stop drinking coffee but I was drinking decaf and it didn't help so I just started drinking regular again. My audiologist told me to try white noise but I stop that after a while to when it didn't help. I would give a lot to get rid of this.

My ENT said to try it. The idea behind Lipo Flavonoid is the B vitamins. So if your tinnitus is due to a lack of one or more of the B vitamins it could help. He said to give it at least 3 months of 2-3 doses a day. It didn't help me. I am pretty sure mine is sinuses and/or stress.

I noticed that mine gets better if I use a netipot (as designed) once in a while, and if I am all caught up on schoolwork and work isn't overwhelming and my kids are not making me insane.

Sonya - did you talk to your doc about how the Rolfing helped? I am wondering if yours maybe neuro related.

I did, but she didn't seem interested. We had other stuff to talk about she thought was more important. I'm going to bring it up again next time though.

It's surprising that so many of you have this problem. I've been taking lipo for about 2 months and it hasn't made any difference so far but maybe it will for you. It can't hurt to try; nothing else seems to work!

    Joe,

Would you mind sharing a few more details regarding your wife's Meneires condition. I also have it and am curious as to what the doctors have done to help her. Thanks.

The ENT did a day-surgery procedure on her ear. It was 1988 and sadly the details now escape both of us.

Prior to the surgery, she would get these bouts of dizziness that just disabled her. The only thing she could do was lie down on her side and stare at an object sideways for sometimes several hours at a time. Totally disabled her at work at times.

All we recall is the surgeon went in and did something to the tubes in the ear. She still occasionally gets a little dizzy, but nothing like the past. No longer disabling.

Sorry I can't recall more details.

    Thanks, Joe.

I suffer the same symptoms that your wife had prior to her surgery. My ENT has given me anti nausea meds that work pretty well ... Unfortunately you have to wait until an episode occurs. I will ask about the surgery. Thanks again.
