I noticed on the total rewards site that you can turn your Rewards credits into free play. My question is how do you do that and what the rate is? I'm assuming its 1 to 100 so that my 7200 RC would = $72 in free play?
Your RC are for the most part 1:1 at all restaurants, bars, gift shops. They are 2:1 at some non Caesars owned restaurants (I've mostly encountered the 2:1 outside Vegas) and when converting points to cash (again properties outside Vegas) or to free play.
Using TR points for food is better, as 100 points = $1 in dining credit. There's no way I would blow 7200 points for $36 in free-play, when I can get $72 in food credit.
Ok getting a few conflicting answers here I'm confused :confused2: So for dining and stuff like that 100 rewards credits = $1? Is that right?

yea I just can't get to being ok with getting 200 RC's = $1 in free play when you can get it 100 RC's= $1 at hotel, gift shops and food. Ill buy dinner for my friends and just have them pay me most of the time to get my value back
What you have to remember is that when you spend RC's for hotel charges, food, etc, there's already a profit mark-up built into the prices of those things. So you're spending $100 of Rewards Credit to get something that cost the hotel $50 (just as a rough example). When you convert it to a cash equivalent, there isn't a built in markup.
Don't forget that there are quite often coupons for food to make your RC go that much further. It seems silly to use RC on something that is 2:1. It's hard enough to earn comps as it is at CET for us table players compared to MGM or Wynn.
Can you use RCs for alcohol at a casino bar in Vegas? I can't use them for alcohol in my home state but I am not sure if it a state law or a CET rule.
If your play warrants a host picking up the tab for food and beverage, then spending the RCs 2-1 on freeplay may very well be worth it. I charge everything to my room. The host will then deduct from my RCs first, then comp the remainder. In that situation, turning your RCs into freeplay at 2 to 1 the night before you leave makes perfect sense.
I could see that backfiring on you depending on how much you charged to your room and how much you converted into free play. The host picking up an extra $50 above the points you've earned no problem. Cashing in a few hundred in points then asking to have your few hundred in F&B picked up...your play would have to be well beyond the points you earned for that to happen.
Unless I hear otherwise from my host, and I haven't in 4 trips since they rolled out this program, I'll continue to go that route. Because CETs policy is to always deduct RCs on checkout first, you can lose a lot of RCs that could have come from your hosts discretionary comps instead. My last trip as an example, I was under 300.00 in RCs coming in. By the last day I was around $500. We billed about $400 to the room. Had I not cashed in for $250 FP on that last night, it would have all been wiped out but 10000 RCs and no host comps would have been applied. I'm not saying this is the best route for everyone, but it's far from silly to use it if your ADT and host allow for it. I'm sure Caesars crunched the numbers on this before they rolled out the program and are aware people will use RCs this way.
