Currently we are planning on staying at the Bellagio, however a lot of people have told us to get a cheaper hotel so that we will have more to spend on gambling.

After the Bellagio, what would be the second best hotel to stay in?

How old are you? You're coming from the UK for your first time, right? I doubt you'll spend enough time in the room to notice the extra comfort. I stayed in Hooters my first time and had a blast. I'd probably go for Planet Hollywood if you're under 40 and Paris otherwise. Both opposite the Bellagio so the location is good.

How many days and what is the total cost?
If this is your first trip, nothing wrong with getting a nice room.
But if spending $200/night, you can easily get a really nice room at another hotel for much less.
On the other hand if you are getting a deal for $50/night you may be best to stay there.

Too many variables to give an easy answer.

It all depends on what is more important to you - hotel or gambling.

Vegas is the perfect destination because there is something for every budget. The location of Bellagio is perfect because it is central to all of the other properties, but if saving more money for gambling is more important for you, then I would have to say that the regular rooms at Bellagio are fine, but not much different when compared to similar rooms on the Strip.

I recommend going online to a site like www.tripadvisor.com and looking to see what people are saying about the various hotels before you make up your mind. You can also use a site like www.smartervegas.com to get discount codes to save $$$ when booking a room.

Just my opinion, but part of the fun of LV is being a baller, whether you really are or aren't.
Live large! Be a baller! Be a pimp!

That said, don't go from the penthouse to the basement. If you're going from the B, go down to a nice room at Caesars, Paris MGM or as said, if you're younger, get a nice room at PH.

Hard to say that is the best. Tell us more about YOU. What you will be doing? Where you will play. What kind of room at Bellagio. Food, entertainment plans. Car, no car. How many nights. What sort of hotels do you usually pick.

We are 21. Yes we are coming from the UK.

The trip is for 14 days but we will only be in vegas for 9 nights. When I checked the price 2 weeks ago it was $1820 including the daily $25 charge, but yesterday when we booked it, it went up to $2050 including the $25 charge.. it used to be $189 for a room on friday but now its changed to $229.. or $249.. cant remember, but we booked it anyways yesterday..

We will be giving off the impression that we are high rollers, we were going to get a penthouse suite at the bellagio for the last 3 nights.. but in the end decided against it and chose to gamble with it instead.

We will be doing a lot of stuff, (as mentioned in my intro thread) we will play everywhere.. Bellagio, MGM Grand, etc...

Its a Deluxe room, but hoping to get upgraded with the $20 trick..

Hadn't really thought about the food... I'm a fussy eater.. so it will most likely just be mcdonalds for me.. lol..

Yes we have a car for 3 days.. and then for another 4 days when we leave vegas.. its a chevy camaro..

    First trip to vegas..

I'd make the switch to Planet Hollywood for at least part of the trip. Since you are there nine days, why not do five at PHo and four somewhere else? If you don't mind moving, it might be fun to have a couple different experiences there.

You could get a GO Room at The Flamingo for probably half of what you are paying at B. What are your dates?

Damn right!!! Coming from the UK, I'm guessin' you don't do Vegas a helluva lot... do it right and the Bellagio is a beautiful property to stay at! The money difference between there and some of the others isn't really that great over the others mentioned. You could save significant coin by dropping down to Excaliber or NY/NY, but I'd only do that if budget is really, really slim and every nickel counts.

I also encourage you to stay on the strip and not get talked into off-strip joints like Palms or Hard Rock. I'm a HUGE Hard Rock fan, but would never recommend it for you. Location, location, location is a key component for your trip!

Sometimes it is a big difference.

A regular room at Bellagio is nice, but not way different than say Paris.

Let's say it $100/night, which I think is high... to me for a 3-4 day stay ($300-$400 difference) the Bellagio "experience" in room, property, etc. is vastly superior to Paris or Planet Hollywood. It is true, others may value those funds for entertainment and not see it that same as I.

as someone who is a tad younger than most here staying at the Bellagio was really nice. Everything from the room to food to service was outstanding and I don't have any complaints about that. That being said our previous 2 trip to Mirage and Cosmo we liked more because we felt we fit in better. At the B we were definitely in the miniority as the majority of the people there were much older than my wife and I. The pool while nice quiet and relaxing might not be what a 21 yr old is looking for you. Also another thing we noticed is that we spent alot more than we had planned on food as the B has no cheap dining options for a quick snack or anything.

All this being said, your not going to go wrong with Bellagio it is the best hotel on the strip, but it's really up to you based on the atmosphere you want and what you want convienently near you. Personally you might be better off at Mirage or MGM that both have better options for younger people. You might also want to check out Planet Hollywood as it's the only place that Ceasars hasn't completly ruined yet.

Being 21, I'd probably pick something else. Bellagio is a little stuffy. I'm 27, I've stayed everywhere. I'd personally like something a little more fun.. hip, and also with 5 star hotels, it's 5 star EVERYTHING, 5 star food prices, 5 star shopping, 5 star gambling... sometimes I can afford the room, but then I end up not doing anything in the hotel because it's too pricey for my budget.

I'd maybe go down to a 4 star, the have more price sensitive amenities and options for a younger crowd. My first choice is always Mandalay Bay, MGM Grand, Planet Hollywood, Paris. The youngest crowd seems to be at Luxor. While a far cry from Bellagio, it could be more fun... Also, I'd say in any 4 or 5 start room in Las Vegas with no questions asked. They are all nice.

One of my good friends, who is 22, booked a trip to Aria this summer, and I told him the gambling minimums are $25 a hand, and all the restaurants are 5 star... and he's like all bummed that his friends picked that (he said he just wants to gamble a lot really).

I reserve the 5 stars for when I go with my family and Mom and Dad pay for fancy meals and gambling ahhaha.

    Hi,

I agree with Wigwam, pick a different hotel and I think Planet Hollywood would be a good choice. It is a younger scene, from what I have heard and I have heard nothing but nice things about the place.

Save your cash for the gambling, eating, shopping, shows etc.

Money can go fast in Vegas, unless you win of course (I never win at casino's LOL) but still love them.

Hope this helps and you are going to have a blast.

Ask awy if you want to know what to see etc. The members of this board have much valuable information.

If you're 21 and you like the club scene and you want to be a baller, then there is only one place for you: The Cosmopolitan.

It depends on what kind of Vegas you are looking for. If you're looking for a fun party atmosphere, that's certainly not the Bellagio. For the price you mentioned below you could probably get the Wynn. Planet Hollywood is nice, but you certainly won't have the atmosphere of opulence that the Bellagio or the Wynn would give. While the wife and I are a bit older than you (30) we think that the Wynn is a good mix of luxury and party.

I also enjoy a nice room when in Vegas, but I usually stay away from places like Wynn or Bellagio because I enjoy casual dining more than fine dining. The nicer places tend to have less options for dining for me.

Definitely dont stay off-strip, that would be a waste for such an important trip. If you want to save a little, look at Paris, TI, MGM, or Planet Hollywood. They all have nice rooms, and would be cheaper than Bellagio. My first trip I had a strip view at TI, and I thought it was amazing.

Bottom line, have a great time.

I'd have to second the Cosmopolitan, and there is a promo on their site for buy 3 get the 4th free, basically you would pay for 7 nights there and get 9. Plus it is brand new and everyone wants to be there, balconies on the room! Try the $20 trick for the upgrade for sure!

In my opinion, I save the money for gambling. I had booked the Cosmo first for my trip next month, total cost was $850 for four nights, not bad. Then I saw the promo for Bally's at $220! 1/4 the cost! I said f'it I am using the $300 to gamble. Money isn't tight for me, I think my overall budget is going to end up around $2500 for 4 days, but not baller status. Splitting the room is $110 and airfare was free, leaving me a good amount to gamble and eat with.

It all depends on you and the crowd you are staying with, you can access any hotel/club/restaurant/scene/etc on the strip if you are staying on the strip so no worries where you end up! Just have fun!

    When are you going?

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone, now I really cant decide, and only 20 days left... Bellagio is already booked.. but how about 4 nights at cosmo and then 5 nights at Aria?

Is Aria good? are these hotels both better than the bellagio?
