Great pictures, spent quite a bit of time in my early 20's around a few of those areas.

Very impressed with image quality. The photographer must have been using a HD camera. :wink

I know you're joking, but from the article:

O'Sullivan used a primitive wet plate box camera which he would have to spend several minutes setting up every time he wanted to take a photograph.

He would have to assemble the device on a tripod, coat a glass plate with collodion - a flammable solution. The glass would then be put in a holder before being inserted into a camera.

After a few seconds exposure, he would rush the plate to his dark room wagon and cover it in chemicals to begin the development process.

I love the part about the "dark room wagon".

The Paiute Indians live in Las Vegas presently

I wanted to go so bad to the "Pow Wow" this week-end on May 26-27th.
The Paiute Indians and some other Indian tribes are going to be there.
Location is north of Snow valley golf grounds. Just 20 miles out of Vegas city.

Thank you so much for the photos. It gave me great joy to see the beautiful landscape and mountains. Plus the Indian photos.

Some of my ancestors were Shoshones. Some of them moved to Texas and became known as the Comanches. The Indians of Vegas can tell I am part Native American by looking at me and hearing the sound of my voice. That is what they tell me. I always look for them and I say hello to them.
My great grand-parents were from the Wild West in the 1800's in Texas.
My grand-father's name was Wheeler, born in Texas.
I like checking out my ancestry on the websites. Plus, my dad and my mom would tell me about my ancestors.

The Daily Mail is one of my "go to" online newspapers that read, they will frequently feature photos that are not available in the US.
