We like to have fun here to ya know. We are new to the board but not to VEGAS BABY. We stayed downtown the first four trips and loved pace of the crowd there, then we got daring and have enjoyed the last four trips to the strip. We have our flights for Sept. and I can't believe I'm saying this, My wife and I can't wait for summer to end(as soon as it gets here). We are not big gamblers, we like VP and my wife loves the penny ones. She can never figure out why she comes home with empty pockets. My favorite place to gamble is "RIO", I don't know what it is but I always seem to be able walk out of there up a few peso's, I guess I should hang out there more. We both love just walking around and seeing the sights and preformers and the "I SHOULD NEVER DRINK THAT MUCH IN PUBLIC" people, my favorite. I'll post some of our interesting and funny stories later. Right now I'm going to continue to empty some aluminim cans so I can recycle them and save the environment.:drunk:

Welcome to the board. I'm going in September as well, and I too hate to rush the summer, but can't wait to go.

I also am going in September--and YES, I 'm a fellow cheesehead!! Go Badgers!! Been there 11 times now. I think I'm doing the Golden Nugget this time. Stayed on the Stingy strip on the other trips. I also like the VP and the crazy pennies. Not a High Roller at all really. I agree with some other posters in other threads--I'm not gonna get rich but, I go for self entertainment, relaxation, the food, the drinks(somewhat), and to feel like maybe I'm actually pampered a lil bit. I haven't made reservations-yet, was thinking mid Sept.:drunk::nono::evillaugh

Don't want to hijack the welcome thread, but if you like VP, Golden Nugget isn't the place to be playing.:nono:
    OK, back to welcoming Swigs.

We are heading out Sept. 12 - 16, after the kids go back to school. Were not so fond of going for adult fun and having a bunch of screaming kids at the pool. We go to get away form our kids and grandkids. Don't know where we are staying yet, we'll see what free stuff comes our way. Go Badgers, Go Packers.

Thats really close to our timeline. Trying to get a cheap flight but, 400 bucks a piece is too steep. Travel agent said they should go down to around 325 out of milwaukee but, If its a 100 bucks cheaper a peice, I'll fly out of the twins. O'hare is a nightmare--maybe Madison will have a deal--we'll see. As far as the VP at the nugget, no, I'll probably Mainstreet or I hear the Cali has decent VP:beer:

Frontier flight prices are coming down, booked our flight leaving on a Saturday morning and returning Tuesday evening for $250 RT each.

While you are out there, the Packers play on Thursday night against the Bears (Sept 13). Strongly consider hitting a "Packers Bar" like Rum Runner (my favorite location is on Tropicana, across from the former Liberace Museum). Nothing like being on vacation and watching a ball game with 200 of your best friends that you've never met.

Another great Packer/Badger bar is Big Dog on Rancho, near Santa Fe casino.

We'll keep that in mind, If the packers only win 2 games a year, you hope its the two times they play DA BEARS. We all know they will win more than two though. We got our flights from southwest for 378, if they go down,I think they fix the difference. I hate waiting on flights, I would rather pay extra knowing I have a seat when I get there. I've drove to O'hare twice to canceled flights when I got there. Always fly from Milwaukee now it's only 25 min from home.
