Are there any Top Gear fans on this board?

    Love that show.

For people who are not familiar with it.

It is on BBC America. New episodes are running now every Monday.

I just watched Episode 2 from this season. For people familiar with the show, they had The Stig's Chinese cousin. I was laughing out loud.
Matt LeBlanc was the celebrity guest driver.

There are websites where most television episodes can be watched for free.

Also, there are DVDs from prior seasons and streaming is available at Amazon Instant Video.
    This is season 18.

I like Top Gear a lot. I think I actually prefer the US version though.

That is hilarious considering you are from the UK.

In America, the UK version is more popular.

One of my favorite moments on the show was a few seasons ago when they brought The Stig into the studio and said they were going to reveal his identity.

He took off his helmet and it was someone who obviously wasn't The Stig. I don't want to give away who it was for those that might not have seen it.
    It was hilarious.

Has anyone read any of Jeremy Clarkson's books? I heard his latest is supposed to be good.

I know, but I think it's just over-exposure. I've watched every episode in the UK several times. I do think the US version is more natural as well (although I'm sure it's just as scripted).

They are all pretty good, although most of them tend to just be a collection of his past newspaper columns so if you buy the papers he writes for you can feel a bit cheated.

loads of the uk ones on netflix too.

I prefer the UK one - gave the US one a try but they just didn;t have the chemistry that makes it click.

I may give it another go.

I saw one of the first few episodes of the US version and felt the same way. Then a few months ago, I caught a show and was fairly impressed. The chemistry seems to have improved quite a bit and they look a little more natural/relaxed. You’re not going to confuse them with their UK counterparts by any means, but still quite watchable, IMO.

I love the UK version. But they’ve just become such caricatures that sometimes the shtick gets to be a bit too much. Still a great show though.

We've been watching the UK version for years (thanks BBCAmerica). Didn't like the US version and don't record it any longer. UK version still set in my DVR:peace:

I like the challenges and the specials. If it gets too much car and too little fun, I lose interest:haha:. Only like the UK one..
