Wondering whether or not to bring my ipad on this trip? Is there internet access in the rooms?

Yes. Well, technically not free. But, you do get it with your resort fee.

If I remember correctly from my last stay there (March '11) it wasn't wireless.

Interesting point. I wonder how many hotels in Vegas advertise "Free Wifi" on their sites but then include that same wifi service in their list of amenities that the daily resort fee covers... :stir:

At my stay in April '12 I had both wired and wireless options in my room, covered by the $18 resort fee.

I don't actually recall seeing "Free WiFi" on hotel websites - but now I'm curious :ssst:

When I was there a couple of weeks ago it was wired internet only, no wifi.

Ditto for my stay in January of this year. My morning routine was to grab a cup of coffee and sit in the lounge by the HL room and catch up on my emails.

So with the resort fee, the wifi is throughout the hotel? ("sit in the lounge by the HL room and catch up on my emails") and not restricted to your room?

Yes, this is how I remember it.

Of course, the other posters claiming otherwise have me starting to question myself - I do go to Vegas every few months so I suppose I could be confusing this with another property. But if memory serves, I had wifi throughout the property.

Hopefully someone else will confirm...otherwise, probably best to call.

Would there be a place for us to print off our boarding passes for our flights home? Is there an additional charge for this? I cannot download to my Blackberry.

I cannot answer for Monte Carlo. I can answer, as of Feb 2011, for TheHotel, another MGM property - we had wifi in our room and we logged in with our name/room number, wifi was included in the resort fee we paid. We specifically chose TheHotel for a few reasons over Luxor (mainly we'd stayed at Luxor before and wanted to try something new) but Luxor only had wired internet, which is a problem when my husband and I both want to use internet at the same time....

Some hotels will have wifi in lounge/check-in areas, but wired in the rooms. Varies widely, though I think wireless throughout the property is becoming more widespread....Someone once posted about the costs of wifi in rooms, with repeaters and the concrete and all sorts of other variables....

You can do it for free at the airport.

A lot of hotels have "business centers". For a few bucks you can get online, get your boarding pass, and print it.

I would print the boarding pass as a PDF or XPS electronic file.

Then show the boarding agent your computer screen. They should be able to scan it from there.

It will look funny showing a boarding agent your laptop screen, but it will get the job done. I wouldn't care.

Does the Blackberry allow files to be viewed? If so, another option is to attach the file to an e-mail, e-mail yourself, and access it from the Blackberry.

If you were in the lounge near the HL room thats close to the food court... the McDonald's there does provide free WiFi to the food court, so you might have been picking up on that.

There 2 computers across from the bell desk at the front desk to print boarding passes, by the stairs to the self parking garage.

I've seen scanners have issues many times with barcodes displayed on computer screens and phones. I'm not sure of the technical reasons behind it, just pointing it out so that if you haven't done it before, you're not relying on it to catch a last minute flight or something. Maybe others have had different luck.

I'd figure in this day and age, it shouldn't be a big deal to have your boarding passes on your smartphone, so maybe they've improved this technology or there's some sort of app I'm not aware of?

Boarding pass printing is also included in the resort fee.
