Just found out that my wife and I are going out to MB for a quick 2-night trip next weekend. Just a regular room at MB (any suggestions on floor/room/view?)

We also have a little F&B, so any recommendations on MB eateries would be great. We are willing to try about anything, but generally don't go for the high-end places. Maybe $25-40 per person for the meal and a pop/tea. Are the restaurants in the mall between MB & Luxor covered with F&B credit?

Going out to enjoy the heat/sun/beach/pool as the school year has ended. The kids are going to grandma's house for the weekend!

Burger Bar in the Mandalay Shoppes FTW! You can use Express comps, room charge or F+B credit there too.

They also have a new pizza place next door to Burger Bar but even though I eat for free at MB I haven't tried it yet since I don't think their small ass slices are worth $4.95 each.

Thanks, gang. Are all the restaurants in the mall covered by f&b? I've been to burger bar and will definitely go back next week. Also will probably try border grill.

Rooms ending in 2-and-an-odd-number have the best views, looking north up the strip.

I think it depends on the place and their relationship with the casino, as with all restaurants in the casinos, right? I think RM is covered too (based on a memory of a conversation with a friend last time we stayed at MBay...) but I'd check before eating anywhere:peace:

Hussong's is great at MB place.

We were there recently and before we sat down we asked if we could charge it to our room at MB (as we had a F & B credit). They assured us we could, so we had a great meal (I love the fajitas and margaritas).

When the bill came, they suddenly couldn't charge it to our room because the computer was down. We explained that the reason we ate there was because of our comp and we had to charge it to our room.

After a bit of a wait, the manager contacted his GM. They contacted MB by phone and we had it charged to our room.

From my understanding, this computer connection between these restaurants and MB/Mlife goes down regularly. But they acted like we were the first patrons that insisted it still be charged to our room.

Good news, if we were the first, Hussong's now knows how to do this.

We've always liked Border Grill @ Mandalay. It's a bit further back, closer to the convention center.

Yep, we like the margarita-based fare, so we're looking at Hussong's, too. :drunk:

We don't get comps, so we like the places that have Restaurant.com coupons - in the past, LOTS of MBay places have availability....I think I have one for Hussongs - we didn't make it there on our last trip....Raffles for breakfast is a good coupon to use.

We've used F&B comps at RMSeafood.

The Red White & Blue resteraunt is awesome inside Mandalay Bay. Very good food and excellent service! If you want to fine dine, check out the MIX at the HOTEL next door. The place is on the 64th floor and they have balcony tables. The food and service are top notch. The view is breathtaking!! Dinner for two will run you at about or under $100.

IMO Red White and Blue is horrendous. I've been there 2 times and the service was horrible both times. The food is mediocre at best. Last time we were there it took 15 mins just to get a waiter to take our drink order (Coffees), another 45 mins to bring out breakfast and the place was pretty empty.

A couple came and sat down across from us, 15 mins and no one came by their table, they asked us how long we had been there, we told them 15 mins just to take our order of coffee and we were waiting over 30 mins for our food and still hadn't received it. They promptly got up and left.

The manager comes over and asks us where they went, we told him they got sick of waiting for someone to come by their table and they left, he said something derogatory and walked away.

Read their reviews on YELP, 90% of them are bad.

RW&B serves decent food with quick service at the bar in my experience. Watch some sports have a beer and some pub food it's fine - not fine dining.

Border Grill is my favorite restaurant on the planet!! Yum. It's a good lunch place, and they have a great sunday brunch.

Stripsteak is also great, yet pricy. But it's worth the price.

Also.. almost all the MB restaurants on are on restaurant.com some good savings there!

Wow, I guess things have certainly changed for the worst since we have been there:eek: Glad you brought this up, because we were about to go there on our next trip coming up. Looks like I will be headed else where. We haven't been there in quite a while, but when we were there everything was awesome and I am a very picky eater. Thanks for the heads up:thumbsup:
