Yes. However, they are not allowed on The Strip or in the casinos.

Naw... though I'm sure there's the odd mosquito, I've yet to see one.

We mostly go in July/Aug and don't recall any issues.
Since they are so small and so hot in Vegas at that time odds are they probably burn up and disintegrate without us knowing.

If they are, I've never been bothered by them.

Oh, they're there. Especially around golf courses with lots of water hazards.

The last thing in the world you need to pack in your bag is mosquito repellent unless you are going golfing.

Let me ask you this: Have you ever seen it sold anywhere on the strip? If that answer is no, chances are you are not gonna need it.

Of all the things to worry about in vegas, mosquito repellant is about the least. How about sunscreen?

Sorry, didn't intend to make it sound like you need repellant, you don't! Just pointing out that around the golf courses they have them at night.
    Just pack your sunscreen!

Yeah, the pesky critters only like to hang out around water, so golf courses apply, but won't find many issues on the Strip. I have never encountered them in Vegas - golf courses included!

Las Vegas has it's own species of mosquito, and they're horrendous. They're mostly found in hotels, wearing cheap sports coats. They have a distinctive buzz that sounds like "free show tickets" or "free tour" or "are you from out of town?" If they manage to get a hold of you they can be very hard to get rid of, and they will try to suck you dry. The best repellant is to avoid eye contact, or use the phrases "I live in Vegas" or "we're leaving today."

    Be safe out there.

There are quite a few diseases I'd be worried about picking up in Vegas before West Nile Virus, that's for damn sure....

Well, it always depends on your risk factors:wink2: (mosquitoes LOVE me, and even where/when people say there won't be mosquitoes, I come home with bites. But I've never been bitten in Vegas)

I've played hundreds of rounds of golf in Vegas, covering every month of the year. Cannot recall a mosquito let alone a mosquito problem.

Probably more mosquitoes near the Strip in the fetid flood control channel that daylights into IP's parking lot than elsewhere.

That's because you weren't playing after dark. :evillaugh

I'm not saying they are a problem, just that they are there and nothing like the amount and the swarms in places that are hot and humid, like here in a month or so. :peace:

    Vampires

Mosquitos like to bite people at night time like Vampires.

They live near water puddles and most likely near water fountains where
    the water stagnates.

Ballys had a note on my window not to open the window because the
moths will come into my room. I was located on the 11th floor and it
was May 9th,2012. Was it a joke? LucyR.
