Sorry if the title is somewhat vague. Here's what I'm looking for, going myself just prior to 50th b-day, I've been to Vegas several times and am looking for something different, in a nice room and pool. The Signature was ok, but the big pool was way too crowded for me (and this during the week!) I've looked in to Cosmo but have seen disappointing reviews on the pool(s) Encore is definitely an option, just wish it wasn't so far up the strip, but I can deal with that (don't mind walking!) if people think it has a nice room/pool combo. I'm also considering The Hotel at Mandalay, any input would be appreciated.

The Encore has the best standard room on the strip with Wynn being second. The pool area is awesome as well, the encore beach is on the other side of the casino/property then the regular pools so the noise from there is non existent. Also both Wynn and Encore has their own pool areas and u can use either one, both of them also have a great over 21 pool area were no kids is allowed. I think Encore has an advantage in the pool/room category while Wynn has a slightly better location but also feels a little more crowded.

The pool is much smaller then the other bigger resorts like, Aria, Bellagio, Wynn etc. But i still liked it and it and it never got too crowded when i was there but that was back in 2010. The pool was very quiet and relaxing but keep in mind this was before Cosmo opened so can't tell for sure if u can hear Marquee from there.
Overall is a smaller pool area but still very luxurious fell to it with nice chairs. What impressed me the most was the service since i got free bottled water when i arrived and got to taste some free smoothies samplers every now and then. Don't know if this was an opening thing or if they still do it but the service was the best i received anywhere in Vegas.
