No joke! I had a dental checkup last Monday (a good one); and as I told the dentist, I can't believe I actually come here twice a year when I haven't had a full physical in over 32 years! Checkups are the worst – fear of unknown and all.

I surgically had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed, 2 at a time back in the 70s. Gums never receded properly.

I'll never forget it. It was like a scene out of an old western. The butcher, err, dentist had his knee on my chest and a needle nose pliers in my mouth, pulling.

I go 2x per year for checkups and cleaning, but I still breakout in a sweat in the chair. Silly I know, but memories linger. Different dentist now, other butcher was an oral "surgeon".

God, I LOVE my dentist and have referred four other people to him; they all love him too. No anxiety here.

A lot of dentists have issues, I went to a dentist that started wearing a full surgical mask(way back in the 70's, before it became popular), I thought it was strange but didnt say anything of course, I found out later he had tried to kill himself and shot himself in the jaw.

I think I was violated the last time I went to the dentist.......my shirt wasn't tucked in when I woke up.

Topps Baseball Card Bubble gum destroyed my teeth.
Okay...that and not brushing much as a kid.
    .
When I leave the dentist chair my shirt is soaked !!!!
    Seriously....drenched !
They have to wipe down the chair !
    .
2 decades ago I had some oral surgery.
After alot of novacaine -- the surgeon was getting
pissed and was yelling at me "open your mouth !...FURTHER !"
    I stopped him.
I slurred + dripped my reply "I can't even feel my mouff ! How
would I know if it's open or closed ? !!!!":grrr:

I can relate, as my dentist for the past 30 years retired a year ago. Other than an IRS audit (which I haven't yet had the privilege of enduring), I'm not sure there's anything scarier than going to a new dentist. I had this unwarranted fear of him yelling, "My God, when's the last time you've had a check-up? Your entire mouth has to come out at once – or something to that effect!" No problems, but it's always frightening. Actually, I don't mind those rare instances when work is needed; it's what the exam may reveal that always worries me the most.

    I love my dentist

Yes, I really do love my dentist. He is so cute and has a great smile.

I call him Dr. Mo Magic because he works really fast and never hurts me.
I will be seeing him tomorrow and I plan to take him some sun flowers. He
    likes sun flowers.

My family doctor became sadistic because when he game me a shot he jerked the needill sp around and asked me if it hurt. I wanted to scream
with the pain. I never saw him again. I heard other people tell me he did
the same to them and they also dumped him. Yikes. Lucy
