Has anyone stayed at all (or most)? Are there any you would never stay at again?

there are lots of factors to consider when deciding to stay at a certain property. room cleanliness, location, eating options, gambling conditions etc...

my first trip i stayed at the riviera, a xmas gift from my wife, sometime around 1995. the place was perfect for us. i had a almost nonexistant bankroll. i played mostly blackjack, flat betting $5. each hand was nerve racking since i didn't have much cash. we were there for 3 days and won money every day. hence, i was hooked. the other good thing about being at the riviera was the other low end places near by. my wife doesn't stay up late so after she went to bed, i would travel to the sahara, stardust, frontier, the ho, circus circus, slots of fun and play there. now that most of those places are gone, i wouldn't really want to stay there again. that being said, here is where i've stayed.

    riviera, 1
    nyny, 8 or 9 times
    mandalay, 3
    mgm, 1
    paris, 2 or 3
    ballys 3
    harrahs, 1
    flamingo, 2
    mirage, 1
    planet hollywood, 1

there are good and bad about all of them. my bottom three would be riviera, harrahs, and flamingo. time share people drove me nuts last trip to flamingo. i like all the others just fine and would actually stay at any of them. for my trip at the end of may, we are staying at the encore, the first higher end property we have stayed at. i'm not sure how i will like it, i find, my of the time, the people playing at the higher end places are a bit stuffy for my tastes. i like a talkative, friendly table when i'm playing.

If the pool is important to you then you're not going to be that thrilled with PH's offerings. As a place to stay it's fantastic though. I had a great view from room 2377 all the way down to mandalay bay. Ask for that room :)

We've stayed at the following hotels:

Flamingo: 2 times -- one in a regular room, one in a GO room. GO room was best, of course, and had a gorgeous view of the Bellaggio fountains. I'd stay there again but problem only if comped (we were comped both times)

Riviera: 1 time -- many years ago before we understood the comp system. We always stayed at the Luxor but that particular year we didn't have much money and the best deal we could find was at the Riviera. If only we'd known we could have asked to be comped or for player rates at the Luxor! Anyway, it was okay. We had a rental car and spent most of our time at ... the Luxor! Our room was like something you'd get at a Day's Inn. Adequate for the price.

Paris: 1 time -- this past January. We were comped and we absolutely adored it. We were booked in a standard room but they upgraded us to a Red room and I think it was actually a mini-suite. It was in a corner and had a gorgeous view in two different directions, one of them the fountains.

MGM Grand: 1 time -- we were comped one night and Dr Pepper paid for the rest of our nights (we won a trip to the ACMAs). We had a regular room and it was pretty nice. I'd stay there again but it is huge and a lot of walking to get around.

Rio: 1 time -- this past January. Nice room but it smelled like hamburgers all the time. There was apparently vents below the room somewhere from the restaurants. I would stay there again but if I smelled hamburgers, I'd ask to be moved!

The Luxor: more times than I can remember. We used to love it. Nowadays, not so much because they've taken out so many of the Egyptian things that attracted us and that we loved. We used to even know a lot of the staff there and they would remember us from trip to trip. I miss that. It used to be that even if we stayed at another hotel, we'd still spend a lot of time visiting the Luxor, gambling and shopping and just enjoying it. We went for part of one day this last January and although we enjoyed it, it just wasn't the same. We weren't upset that we hadn't stayed there. I *would* go back, though, if they comped us the way they used to. Right now, I don't think that's going to happen ...

I've been going to Las Vegas on business once or twice a month since the late 80's when the Mirage opened up. I've stayed at most of them and like the others above, even some that aren't around any more. When I started my "per-diem" wasn't anything close to what it is today, so I was at a lot of the lower-end and "locals" properties. Last 10 years or so, I've been able to stay pretty much anywhere, so went up and down the strip.

I've "landed" at the Hard Rock for the last 2+ years, because I like the energy of the joint and it's "easy in and out" for me to get to meetings and not deal with the traffic and congestion of the Strip (which I still love by the way. As much as I travel to Las Vegas, I'm just as excited every time!

I wouldn't go back to Circus Circus... had to stay in their Manor buildings out back one time and that was just yucky!!! Sure do like their steakhouse though...

    Palace Station
    Harrah's
    Flamingo
    Hilton
    M Resort
    Caesars
    TI
    Wynn
    Encore
    Main Street Station
    Luxor
    Excalibur
    NYNY
    Frontier
    Fitzgerald's
    Golden Gate

    Monte Carlo
    Sahara

The only ones we wouldn't stay at again are the ones that no longer exist. But Wynncore is getting the bulk of our attention now.

    Memory lane

    Let's see, south to north...

    Mandalay Bay
    Luxor
    Orleans
    MGM
    Monte Carlo
    Boardwalk (RIP)
    Bellagio
    Rio
    Gold Coast
    Flamingo
    Imperial Palace
    Harrah's
    Mirage
    Venetian

Today, I would think twice about Vegas Club, and Binion's doesn't sell rooms,
but I would happily stay at any of them again. (Especially Stardust, dammit!)

    I've stayed at the following:

    Luxor x2
    Alexis Park
    Harrahs
    Excalibur x2
    NYNY x4
    MGM x4
    Venetian
    Tropicana
    Flamingo
    Mirage x4
    Bill's
    Bally's
    Planet Hollywood x2
    Gold Coast
    Bellagio

Totally agree with both of these.

The only two on my list that I definitely wouldn't go back to are Excalibur (even if comped), and Gold Coast (okay hotel, especially since it was a free stay, but we didn't like being so far away from the Strip).

    My list

Bluegreen Club 36 - My first trip and the room was free from a friend's timeshare they could not make.... rooms were really nice (we had a 2bedroom unit) but I would not stay again because of the location.

Imperial Palace (2 seperate stays 2nd/3rd trips) - During my poor college days I couldn't say no to $20/nt. Sun-Thurs... honestly I didn't hate anything about the hotel, cheap mins, cheap rooms (which weren't dirty or anything), and good eats nearby. I would stay again if I had to... but certainly down on my list after going to other places

MGM - Nice rooms, reasonable price when I stayed... but it was too huge and I really don't like being that far south on the strip. I would stay again if the price was right

Jockey Club (tied for my favorite property) - Price = amazing. Location = Amazing. Lack of casino smoke/noise = amazing (casino floor of Cosmo is only 30 seconds away though). I love the large rooms and the 24/7 pool area. Ususally my first choice when looking to book a Vegas trip over 4 days. I will be staying here again.

Cosmo (tied for my favorite property) - More expensive usually but I love the location, the inside of this place is just beautiful and the nightlife is 2nd to none. I will be staying again.

PH (2nd favorite) - I love having the mall connected (lots of cheap eats), usually when we go to Vegas it is for Miss America so it is very convienent for my fiance' to go to/from, reasonable gambling mins, and it always seems to have a pretty good upbeat vibe throughout the property. I will stay again.

    I've stayed at in order

    San Remo
    MGM
    New York New York
    Monte Carlo
    MGM
    Mirage
    Cosmopolitan
    Bellagio

The only one I wouldn't stay at again would be San Remo/Hooters, other than that i've enjoyed my stays at the rest of the places. I would say that Cosmo was definitely my favorite followed by Bellagio and then Mirage.
