I know, I know, hocus pocus. But let's play with it.

Which denomination of slots have you had the most success?

$.25 VP and then $1 VP, but only because I play those far more than anything else, so the numbers will of course skew that way. But I don't play games where denominational changes affect the house edge; it's not like slots.

If we're talking about losing, then 25 cent machines have worked magic for me.

It will always be a higher denomination...

If somebody is playing a penny slot at 30 credits a spin and hits a $25 win and then later playing a nickle slot at 30 credits a spin and hits a $100 win... they'll say the nickle slot is better.

In this case the penny slot paid 83 times the player's wager back and the nickle only paid back 66 times, but mentally most gamblers couldn't get past the idea that $100 is more than $25 and look at it from the angle of what they were wagering versus the amount won.

Return wise, it was a penny slot at the RIO. LOL.

I know this is unusual, but we were drinking alot. There were 5 of us and I put $1 on a penny slot. I played only 1cent at a time. Just kept pressing the button every 10sec to a minute. We were basically just getting free drinks and giving good tip per round of drinks. I think we had 8-10 beers each. I wasnt paying attention to the actual winnings or loses. I just kept pressing 1 credit every so often. After over an hour, it was up to $40.00 We were pretty wasted so it was even funnier at the time. I get up to go to the bathroom and one of my friends does a couple spins on full credits. It pretty much wipes out the $40 in seconds. haha. But ya, that was my unusual slot experience.

This was me and I have done quite well over the years with it, but then I discovered the pennies.
I used to turn my nose up at pennies, considered it "cheap" and somehow "undignified," then I tried them....and they're great!
Obviously, make sure you read the rules, because some require max bet to get the free games, but some don't, but DAMN, do I have fun on some of those penny machines.
I have found if they require max bet, you got to play it at max or it's a total waste, if not a max bet required, usually seem to work better on the middle bet available...I fool around with the available bets to see if one pays better than another, and sometimes you'll find one will be better at one than another.

Had my biggest wins on the $1 and $5+, but if I want to clock in some time, stretch out my play or even try to beef up my day's bankroll some, I'll go play pennies...

It's all about finding a happy machine, one in a good cycle
and yeah, they cycle, don't care what the "experts" say.

Percentage wise definitely penny slots, hit $548 last night on a 1.25 bet and last month hit a 300 and 500 on .50 and 1.00 respectively on a Wicked Winnings 2, all on penny slots. Best I have done on higher dollar was last Christmas at Caesars when I hit 880 on a 15 line Cats slot at a 30 dollar bet. I find much depends on the game though, for example on Twin Win I do best taking it to .5 or .10 denomination than I ever do on the lower denoms.Oh and to add last night I was sitting next to a lady playing some Jester game who hit 12G on a ten dollar bet going at .02 denom.

I would say the penny machines but since the total bet is $1 or more does that make it a $1 machine now?

I only seem to win big on $5 slots. I can play along time on smaller denominations but not win big. Just slowly eats my money. I always bet max when ever I play.

Last trip I couldn't win a thing at $25 BJ, but bought in at Sahara's $1 tables for some pre-drinking and was up $10 (10 bets) and 3 Newcastles before moving on.

$50 to $100 at the bac tables once I find out the common distinctive patterns and shuffle procedure of the casino.

Pennies. I have never had luck on quarters and I don't have luck on nickels anymore. My three best wins have been on pennies or two cent slots betting max lines at one per line.
