OK, I realize budget and prime rib should never be strung together like that. But we've been on a prime rib kick here at home lately and I figured since I'm busy planning our May trip, I'd ask.

Anybody know of really tasty, affordable prime rib anywhere? I'm not ruling out a buffet, but I'm open to suggestions! Normally, I wouldn't be looking for suggestions for cheap beef, but it does have a certain Vegas kitsch to it, right?

Bill's Gambling Hall used to have a good inexpensive prime rib special.
Not sure if it still exists.

These things can change pretty quickly in Vegas, but the cafe in Flamingo had a decent deal last october.
You got salad, choice of potato and about an 8oz. cut for $8.99 with ur TR card.
Most buffets have a carving station with prime rib, but you never know what ur gonna get, I've had both good and bad at the same places on consecutive days.

I grew up with really good prime rib. All of the prime rib at buffets are a disappointment to me. I think Bills special is after midnight or later, so don't make the mistake I did. Ellis Island also has prime rib if you go that route. 12.99 includes soup or salad, baked potato and a beer or root beer. I recommend paying more and going to Lawrys. http://www.lawrysonline.com/lawrys-primerib/las-vegas/menu/dinner

I'd highly recommend the café at the El Cortez. Their large cut 12 ounce is like $11.95 and comes with soup or salad, choice of potato and a vegetable.

Jerry's Nugget in North Las Vegas.

    Consistently good over many years.

3 size cuts, huge, monstrodious, and cardiologist nightmare!

I believe the El Cortez is currently running their prime rib as a special, for $7.99 ... as described above.

My better pick downtown would be the $8.98 prime rib special at the California Market Street Cafe, salad, large baked potato, veggie ... and, which even includes dessert (cherries jubilee). You will NOT go away hungry.

I've always wanted to try this place (Lawrys). I'll have to put it on the list of options for my trip. I always spot the Ellis Island deal on LVA, as well, but have never tried it out.

Has anyone ever tried the all-you-can-eat prime rib at Mr. Lucky's in the Hard Rock? I've always been curious about the quality.

We've been to the Cortez Room (Gold Coast) twice, after being steered that way by a bellman. Both times it was VERY good... we'll be back again!

BTW - it was under $20... which for any full dinner is a deal in my book!

As mentioned above, the Flamingo cafe has excellent prime rib for a very reasonable price. I had a $15 CET credit to the cafe and tried the prime rib on a whim. Full meal too, two sides, the whole she-bang.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the Prime Rib loft at the Orleans. You don't say if you have a car or where you are staying. If you are staying on the strip, the Orleans offers a free shuttle ever 20-30 minutes that leaves from beside Bills Gambling Hall.

The Prime Rib Loft is my fave prime rib in Vegas. Includes a great house salad, bread, and a side...the baked potatos are huge. With iced tea and a tip my bill is usually $20.... you can pay this with Boyd points if you like. It's sister restaurant is the Cortez Room at the Gold Coast, it was mentioned above as being very good as well.

The cool thing about the Prime Rib Loft is it's on the 2nd floor overlooking the casino. I like to get a table near the rail and people watch over the casino area. When my husband and ids join me in LV, we send the kids to the food court and we get our prime rib fix!

Primarily Prime Rib at South Point is great! Very affordable and one of the best I've had (I've had it twice now).

For buffets, if you like very rare prime rib, Aria has a rosemary prime rib that is excellent. If you want something that will not moo at you when you cut into it, they can gently warm your prime rib in a pan to get it to medium and beyond. Lots of places toss your undercooked prime rib straight onto the grill which, to me, changes the taste too much. I like that Aria puts it in a frying pan in the cold area of their grill and just gently heats it. Although if you want it well-done, I doubt they'd bother and would instead just slap it onto the grill.

I can heartily recommend the prime rib special at EI and the Cortez Room. The thing that really sets off EI is the microbrew included in the price. And the Cortez Room is great because they have both great steaks and prime rib and their prices include soup or salad plus a side. It's actually a great option for a reasonably priced dinner in a setting where you can dress up a bit if you wanted to.

I've been to Lawry's in Chicago. I can see why people see it as expensive and it probably shouldn't be in a conversation about budget prime rib but the food and overall experience is worth every penny you will spend.

    Studio B M Resort

Studio B Buffet at M Resort has all you can Prime Rib after 4 PM. If you manage to slip in before 2:30 on a weekday, it's like $15. There is a lot to keep you occupied during that hour and a half, including some great ethnic foods--ie, Korean Kum-tang (oxtail soup)--and all you can drink beer, wine & espresso bar.
