    My Trip Report

Hubby worked all night (silly Floridians want electricity 24/7 so somebody has to generate it. We flew Southwest non-stop and touched down just after 9am. Didn't get the "luv seat" this time but even better ~ had an empty seat between us. Watched "What Happens inVegas...D on DVd player during flight. No WiFi this time.

Perfect weather!! Short cab line and $15 ride and we are checking in before 10am. Quick and painless! Bell services held our bags and we were at out slot machines. We enjoyed brunch at Paradise Garden - kinda mixed up meal when they are serving breakfast and lunch at the same time - hubby was eating an omellete (sp?) while I have crab legs and mexican. Lots of variety and most quality was good.

Back to our slots for ahile then at 1:30 we were able to get room key. Go luxury with a view is smallish but very nice. As expected bathroom could be more private but overall very pleased with room. I was a little disappointed with the view however. We are directly across from caesars but not much to look at there. We had requested a room further down for a better view of Bellagio and we had specifically asked not to be in the area behind the "Donny & Marie" screen...so much for that request.

Hubby catching a nap so I went to the pool. I had read that this is one of the best pools in Vegas. Really? This is all you got? Keep in mind that I worked at Typhoon Lagoon for 3 years so my perspective is likely very different from most, but I was not impressed. The pool was also very crowded and very rowdy (tried the family pool too) so I gave up on the idea of actually swimming in a pool.

Given the view and the pool, at this moment I am regretting my Flamingo choice and wishing I had done MGM Grand again...then I wouldn't be typing this on my phone either! Next up - Human Nature!

Have a great trip! Looking forward to Flamingo reports as I'll be there for a couple of days in slightly less than two months. Now go win some $$ :wiggle:

Human Nature was awesome last night (as always!)
Got a good night's sleep and bought Harrah's "Buffet of Buffets" this morning. Breakfast at Paradise Garden, now off to Imperial Palace for my favorite slot where I won 2 jackpots last night. No early retirement in my future as I was playing pennies, but slots are funded for rest of stay. TTFN

Jackpots are a nice way to start a trip. Nice knowing you'll be ahead at the end without sweating it thru the trip.

Had a nice breakfast at Harrah's buffet this morning and played slots for a while with no more big wins. Really enjoyed a much quieter pool trip and met some nice folks. Bucket of beer only $20 even at the pool but fewer options than in casino. Patience paid off and got two chaises in great spot where we enjoyed todays fab

ulous weather. We "willed them" to a mom with younster upon our departure...hardly a generous step on our part but she really appreciated it as thet were hard to come by. Very few backsides in the chaises but lots of towels pointlessly catching rays.

Platters, Coaster & Marvelettes overall good experience last night. Not a fan of maitre'd seating...he led us to front and center table, great location and we did tip accordingly (this after paying for VIP seats). I would prefer to reserve a specific seat (sounds like a rerun of my Southwest posts, huh?) No bad seat in this small there. Show was good but certainly nothing to compare with Human Nature. Each group mostly did songs made famous by there namesakes, offering a couple comic interludes that should be left out IMHO. Platters were by far the best with two outstanding performers and two terrific ones. I probably wouldn't do this show again but had seen some of the same years ago at Sahara and thought they were amazing.

Finished our 24 hour buffet with a nice breakfast at Caesar's. Very nice presentation, little better than typical buffet food, extremely strong coffee and excellent service. So we had plenty to eat in the last 24 hours and made this option a great value, but we ate more than we needed! Might do it again, but would plan to to use it for 4 smaller meals over the 24 hours.

Drizzling today which spoiled our pool plans for now. Not sure what the afternoon holds in store...

Super reports so far. Thanks for your thoughts on the b of buffets. 4 small meals sounds like the way to go rather than to stuff yourselves. Keep em coming!

Three more slot wins at different times today! Not much money but it was great fun. Hubby was behind most of the time, but not by much.

Enjoyed some pool time, but water seemed colder today, perhaps because air was cooler. Turned out to be a very nice afternoon.

Deuce is not for us! We bought the 24 hour pass and climbed aboard. To try it out. Upper deck in front seats was awesome. But they made us get out at Freemont. We wandered around a bit, had a couple drinks, then got on a jam packed bus for return. The body-to-body experience with strangers in public on a hot, slow-moving bus is NOT my idea of a good time.

Tonight we are at Harrah's "Legends". Gotta turn phone off and will let you know how it was later.

Looking forward to your Legends review. Never really thought of seeing them before but I saw them once last year outside of LV and was pretty entertained. Tell us which performers they have.

We really enjoyed "Legends". We purchased VIP seats through Goldstar and were assigned just a few rows back from the stage, but FAR left. View was still good until some big dude in a wife beater plunked down in front of me. Despite the contant challenge of having to look around him I had a great time and would recommend this show.

Our performers were Whoppie, Liberace, Rod, Marilyn, Michael and Elvis. They all did a good job. Whoppie was very entertaining and looked & sounded a lot like the original. Liberace was an amazing pianist and did an awesome job (humor was a little tedious). I am not ver familiar with Rod Stewart but audience enjoyed him. Marilyn was so quick with her comic interaction and her singing and imitation were terrific. Michael blew us all away! He wasn't the best singer but he captured the originals body moves and dancing si well that I loved watching him. Elvis did an excellent job with the songs and looked really good but didn't move like the original.

    Legends was fun.

Hubby lost but I came out ahead on the slots pre-show. I lost post-show but still way ahead overall.

Ready to head out to breakfast and enjoy last day. Thanks for following along with us!

Thanks for the live TR. Takes committment:wave:

I prefer the Ace or Gold Line or whatever the heck they call it now, to the Deuce, but it's a lot slower since they rerouted it through the Bonneville transit station.

We thoroughly enjoyed Mac King today! I had told hubby that it was hokey but very entertaining...he LOVED it! What a fun, family-friendly afternoon show!

We had a quiet day today - slots didn't like either of us. Took afternoon nap and packed. I think 4 days are perfect as we are ready to go home.

Dinner at Harrah's buffet was disappointing. Nothing special offered and service was non-existant. Someone named "Cara" signed our receipt and apparently delivered drinks. Nobody refilled our drinks, nobody stopped by table, nobody cleared dishes. We flagged down a server to ask for Cara so we could request coffee. He advised us that he was covering her break...really? I don't hink so. He did bring our coffee and we did leave 15% but with some hesitation.

Off to "Human Nature" for the 5th time.

How was the pool switch at the Flamingo? Is the adult pool still very crowded?
