    My Trip Report

ugh... is that my alarm going off?

We roll out of bed at 5:30 wash our face (and teeth) and head out of the room with our stuff. Stop at my buddy's room. They hadn't packed last night and had been up a while. Maybe he should have pissed his wife off too =)

We check out (painless), grab the car and head back to the aeropuerto. We don't think we have time to stop for breakfast, so we fill the tank, drop the car off and catch the shuttle back to the terminal.

We get there and there is noone from the airline there. Great.

Just when we are getting comfy, someone shows up and we're the first in line. We get our bags checked and head through security.

This is when things get fun... As I bend over to get my shoes off, my jeans rip. These are super old, super comfy Levi's. They had started to grow small holes around the corners of the pockets, but they were still ok. Well now there's a big hole right in the middle of my ass. Luckily I was wearing plain white boxers instead of my lucky Scooby Doo "I Ruv You" boxers with the huge Scooby head on them (TMI, I know).

We wait for something in the airport to open food wise. The booger fling and pizza slut open up. My wife goes and gets us two personal pizzas ($5 each! That's a steak dinner at EI!). While we are waiting for the plane, the freaking slot machines are going off in the terminal. It seems like they are broken because people keep winning jackpots on them! We say one lady hit 1600 quarters, then hit 500 quarters then hit 120 quarters. She finally walked away from the machine. Other peopls kept winning too.

The airplane is late. We were there 3+ hours early. We are quite ready to leave the airport.

Finally it gets to the airport and we get to board. We didn't get the bathroom row this time, but we didn't get a good plane. This plane is ooooolllllddddd. No air vents above you old. Bad pressure seals on the doors old (more on this later). Every time I cough, sneeze, wiggle or lean back, the lady behind me's tray drops down old.

I've left my magazines in the luggage, so my wife takes pictures of hoover dam and the grand canyon from the plane. I take out my cards and proceed to play blackjack the entire flight home. The lady next to me was pretty nice and taught me how to play Let It Ride. That does not seem like a low roller game though... $15 out there at a time? What do I look like Mark Cuban?

We get to Dallas and now I get to walk of shame it through the airport with my rear hanging out. My wife starts to complain of an itchy eye that's tearing up real bad. Great.

We get our bags and head home ready to crash a little...

But our fun hasn't ended. Her eye is getting worse. At 9pm on a sunday we head to the emergeny clinic. Her eye is oozing snot and is all red. It appears that the funky pressure in the cabin (we had trouble clearing our ears because of it and our sinus infections) caused her to get pink eye. We've got a ski trip planned for christmas weekend that we have to fly on again (not Funjet this time thank goodness!).

We get her meds and head home. We got to bed. The end.

    Summary:
Flight - Not sure I'd take funjet again. Can't beat the price, but what price is safety? Those planes were old and not maintained well.

Hotel - The Orleans is a pretty nice hotel/casino from what I can tell. Cheap! Pretty good gambling (low roller) and the cocktail waitresses had no problems remembering where I was

Golf @ Wolf Creek - A bargain at 2x the price. Seriously an awesome course and worth the 2.5 hours round trip and 5 hour playing time.

The Strip - I'm underwhelmed because I can just see all the money lost into the hoover machines paying for the marble and glitz.

    Downtown - Burn it.

Ellis Island - $4.95! Are you kidding me?

In-n-Out - dat's a good daeth burger and good real fries

    Gambling?
I ended up $85 (all tips to cocktail waitresses and the dealers are included in this).

My wife ended even (she put the dollar she won at BC into the slot at the airport).

My buddy says he ended up flat, but he keeps crappy records.

His wife lost a lot into the slot machines... she sure can hit that "MAX BET" button fast.

    Would I go again?

Sure, but I would need to find more low roller places to play... and I'm not sure what else I could do there? Just gawking at the casino's doesn't do it for me [IMG]

I felt dirty when I had $5 out there in one place (at times I had $40 on the craps table, but I pulled those bets down might fast if they didn't hit).

Too bad you didn't have any fun downtown, but good job at least trying it. I know what you mean about the "high roller" $5 table, I've done at the El Cortez, sittin' over with the big spenders. ha.
