    My Trip Report

Hi, just got in to Las Vegas today and spent the day at Venetian gambling, mainly slots. The trip report for today is posted along with photos, on my blog. Tomorrow is the last day for G2E (Global Gaming Expo) and since I'm registered for it, I hope to finally get to it for the first time. The main point of the trip was to attend the Grazie VIP Gift Party this year which is this Friday.

In addition to the live trip report, the older section of the blog contains trip reports that talk about the slot tournaments at Bellagio, Aria and Venetian. I also have the room service menu for Bellagio posted there which is accurate as of October 2010.

First day of trip report which is mainly me just playing various slots.

Great TR so far, thanks for sharing!

I try to make it to G2E myself every year, and would be there right now if unfortunate circumstances had not prevailed. I'm looking forward to your observations when you get to the exhibit floor.

I also found your HL slot adventure interesting... Dollar 3 reel machines are pretty much my limit, and it was interesting to read about the swings you see at higher denominations. Your win for 1100 must have been quite a relief, and nicely right under the tax reporting level. :)

    thebucket,

Sorry you missed G2E, it's really fun.

I'll be updating the blog with photos and the events of Friday by tomorrow noon before I head out. Currently I'm running on only 2 hours sleep and hope to catch up. Here's a small preview.

Today at G2E was a blast, lots of new slots coming out that I think are promising and IGT seems to have the ones I like the best. I was disappointed with most of the ones that WMS is currently producing and I used to only want to play WMS slots.

Aruze Gaming had a Cinderella slot that I loved, with lots of bonuses within the main bonus that were so much fun.

I'll give more details on the blog, but the slot that both men and women should like is the "Hangover", based loosely on the movie and styled similar to Sex in the City.

Other news that I found interesting is that IGT will be releasing more of their older games as apps for the Iphone and Ipad, starting with Kitty Glitter in about a month.

Gambling today was just losses at Venetian, Wynn and then M Resort. However at the last minute I was rescued by a hand pay on penny Wolf Run at Palazzo.

How did you get into the G2E? Is it open to the public? Or are you employed in the gaming industry?
    Thanks

Ant, it's not open to the public that I know of. Player's Life was giving out some free passes courtesy of WMS, however I got my free registration from a friend who arranged it.

Anyone interested in the Grazie Gift party this year, I uploaded a short summary and lots of photos of the VIP version of it I attended last evening. The only thing I believe that might be different for the VIP version is we got in a day early before it opened today for everyone else. :)

The rest of yesterday's activity will be written later tonight. I'm just checking out now to go to the airport to return home.

Great pics! Thanks for sharing them. I had a question. I was invited to the Grazie gift thing and will actually be in Vegas for the last day of it, however I am not checking in until the following day on a comp. Would I still be able to attend the Grazie gift event, even if I am not registered at the hotel? I don't have a ton of points (69k) but I would love to see it as I've never been in town for it before.
    Thanks again!
    Liz

If it is anything like Harrahs, you just go in. At HET they have tons of local people with 7 figures in points racked up that sit & do their entire Christmas shopping list from the Great Gift Wrap Up items. I would think???? that Grazie would be similar - they can't not allow their local players to redeem their points.

Liztoybiz, as jgates already mentioned you will be able to get in even if not staying at the hotel. I'm going back in December to use my holiday gift points at Bellagio (M Resort group) and I'm actually staying at Encore that trip.

    Thanks Blackjacknut, Liz and lithelady!

I'll be doing another live trip reports starting December 7th. :)

    Evoni and jgates,
Thanks so much for that info. Anyone know what time it closes down on the 29th? Since that's the last day, I want to make sure I don't miss it. Also, do they tend to run out of everything by the last day?
I can't wait! I get to go with my best friend to Vegas for the first time and I want to show her all my favorite haunts. It's always a gamble taking someone new...
Glad you had such a great time Evoni and I will try to remember to post a trip report.
    Happy Thanksgiving guys!

Thanks Drgar, Mycatspot and Sammowhammo, glad you all enjoyed it.

Liztoyboy, sorry I'm not sure what time it closes down on the 29th. Have a great trip and I would love to read your trip report about all the fun you and your friend will have. Happy Thanksgiving!

Not sure how they stock - Harrah's has pulled items off display as the quantities run out. I don't know then when they get to the December GGWU if they then replace with new items or if they make arrangements to get more of the original. I'm sure that their program runs quite a bit differently. But with HET, you have a TON of things to choose from. The one year I ordered a new Dooney Bag & some chocolates for mom. Last year I bought myself a handheld stick chopper/mixer (love it), and a cordless B & D screwdriver and something else that I have absolutely no recollection of right now!!! Also grabbed a Flamingo fleece blanket with some of the leftover points - you had to take that with you - other items HET shipped to you. This years points will just fade away.........wish they carried them over to the next year. I like HET because you can stay on another offer (I think mine was $75 food or something) and just walk into the GGWU. Wish our local tribal casino did this, but lordie no!
