    My Trip Report

    TRec/03

I am probably forgetting some stuff & have some of it out of order but I am still running on empty and am trying to recall everything from memory as I don't take notes. So here goes nothing.....

We headed to Toronto & to a restaurant called Casey's on the airport strip. It is just a ritual we have gotten into before a flight. We had a nice dinner and a 20 oz beer for the flight. Said my goodbye's to Dan & headed into the terminal for the long wait. NO PROBLEMS clearing customs. He asked the usual questions then told me u go girl, have a great time & I hope u win big. I thanked him and con't on. Did have to have my suitcase screened. They asked me to lift it up on the conveyor belt. I said u got to be kidding it is so heavy. He said no problem and called another guy over. They put it up on the belt for me then when it came through the other side lifted it off and took it over and put it on the belt that takes it down to where it gets loaded on the plane. Again I thanked them then headed for a place to sit and listen to my cd's. The flight was delayed a bit but made up for lost time in the air. Ace was right and it was a rock and roll flight. At times they made the attendants sit and buckle up. I lucked out and had the row to myself once again. I stacked three of those little pillows behind me, took off my boots, stretched my legs out and listened to my walk man. When we got over Lake Mead the pilot banked the plane and I was looking face first into it. I was saying wow how cool but other's were not as impressed as me. Seems they didn't like being in that position. Landing was bumpy as always but it wasn't long before I was walking up that ramp and into the airport. Next thing I hear is there she is. My friends were all standing there waiting for me. Lots of hugs and some tears and then off for my luggage and to the car. Terrill made sure she got a car with a CD player in it (wonder why?) She said we r going by way of the strip so u can see the lights and be welcomed back properly. I put in a CD cranked it up and as we were passing the welcome to Vegas sign Elvis came on singing Viva Las Vegas!! I started the chant Let's get this party started and we were all ready for one hell of a time. We phoned Danny as we were driving up the strip to let him know the trio & Nancy's mom were together again & we were headed for the hotel. I checked in with no problems, freshened up and headed back downstairs to meet up with T & N. We watched a light show then headed to the Plaza for the 50 cent drinks. Once we got our drinks we called Les. Neither of them had the pleasure of talking with him before and he was in rare form as always. N and I were enjoying our beers but T said her whiskey was awful. The waitress said yeah it is kinda like liquid diahera if u r use to the good stuff. I said she's use to Crown Royal she went and got a bottle of it and poured a double and said oh my I guess I made a mistake and gave it to her for free. Nice lady, nice tip. We left there as the smell was overwhelming that night and headed back to the LVC where we sat at some slots ordered some drinks and laughed our a$$es off for hours. It was just too good to be back together again. I put $20 in the machine and cashed out at 125.00. It was now after 6:30 am my time so we decided to call it a night and meet up the next day. I crawled into bed thinking I was going to have a nice sleep. How wrong I was that damn phone rang within an hour of me laying down. It was Dawn she and Les had conspired as he promised HE wouldn't wake me up. I couldn't get back to sleep so finally got up and had a shower and headed to Carson St to meet up with the girls & mom. After we ate we headed to the first of a long list of meets. This one was at Caeasars. We had a nice group of people enjoyed a drink and some laughs and then when it was over I headed to Victoria Secret. It seems I am hooked on this store. I think we should open a franchise here in Oshawa. I bought some glitter lotion and some unmentionables then we all headed back downtown. T & I headed to Binnon's snack bar for a burger, then to La Bayou for yard longs. We decided to go see Elvis at the Fitz and called the others to meet us. Steve Connelly is excellent and if u ever get a chance go see him. He plays well with the audience and we had a hoot with him. I was the lucky girl that he called up to receive the scarf he was wearing. I also was the lucky girl that got the hug and kiss to go with it . He also does a part in his show where he sits and plays the guitar. During this part he sang Happy Birthday Patti and then Love Me Tender. I was in my glory & grinning from ear to ear. From there we headed back out to FMS and T and I stayed to listen to the band playing & the others headed to gamble. T & I caught up with Mom & N at the Nugget bar and sitting in between them was Butch. More hugs and kisses and drinks. Mom called it a night and the rest of us headed back down to Binnon's where T and I had been earlier listening to a band they had in for the rodeo. We partied and danced for hours and I thought we wore poor Butch out. B went to the Golden Gate to play BJ and T & I & N headed to Mermaids so T could get a deep fried twinkie. While we were there they gave us free shooter size samples of all the frozen drinks they sell. They were very tasty. Poor T was feeling no pain by this time and decided to call her daughters. I had to get on the phone and assure them Aunt Patti was taking good care of their mom and would make sure she got back to her room ok. They were laughing as they never heard their mom drunk before. We went dancing on FMS and & some people joined in. A homeless man kept coming up to me and pointing at a little white mark on his arm and saying Iraq. I didn't know what the hell he meant so I saluted him & in turn he saluted back. Then he said $5.00? I told him to follow the lady in the glitter jacket as I was pretty sure she was rich. He did but returned wanting to dance I told him no that I was with my friend. He kept coming back so I put my arms around T and said I'm with my bitch. He seemed taken back a bit...lol. We ended up back at the Golden Gate and caught up with N & B. N said she needed her bed and would take T back with her. I stayed with an inebriated B as I wasn't sure he could find his way back. He was down over 300.00 and I finally convinced him it was time to leave. I got him across the street and he sits at another table. He made back all but about $30.00 and I said to the dealer whatever that colour thing is do it he's done. I got B going in the direction of the elevators but he veered off to the escalator as he wanted breakfast. He got his food. I told him it wasn't his order so he started fluffing it up to return. Then he tried to pay the cleaning lady for his meal. TOO FUNNY!! He had told me earlier he was across the hall from me but I thought he was pulling my leg. He wasn't. I got him up there and put his key in the door and it opened. He was directly across from my room. This was to be the start of a very interesting week!! I crawled into bed at 7 and he phones to thank me for making sure he got to his room. I fall to sleep and within an hour the phone rings and it is Paula. I was so incoherent I'm sure she thought I was polluted. I think she said something like r u ok and I will call back another time. Sorry Paula.

Payback time for me. B had told me he had supplies in his room but no fridge. I had a fridge but no supplies yet so I thought I would bang on his door and get some juice. I got his hung over butt up and it turns out he forgot he hadn't gotten the supplies yet. But gentleman that he is he went down he hall to the pop machine and brought us back diet pepsi's. Pop for breakfast another first for me. We met the ladies & did some errands then headed to the meet at Main Street Station & the slot pull. We had alot of fun then headed into the brewery for some food and drinks. We met up just before 2:00 and by the time we broke up it was after 5:30 we were just having way too much fun. Thank you Pat & Marge for buying me what had to be the world's biggest salad.

Tonight was the night T & I were celebrating our birthdays and getting all dressed up. Originally we were going to go down to the strip but decided we would go back to see Elvis instead. That way she didn't have to drive and she had told him the night before we were coming back. He welcomed us back to his show, commented on how nice we looked and flirted the way he does in all his shows. We were rockin on and having a blast. He hands out a scarf in some shows and stuff hound dogs in others. He said whoever yelled the loudest and waved the most would get a dog. We we right up front and I said I would like a dog. He looked down and said this one is for u baby and then he signed it after the show. He spoke with us and took some more pics then he went and brought back a cutie little girl and introduced us to his daughter and his wife. They are such a nice family. We really enjoyed meeting them. We left the showroom and ran into the other 3 and made arrangements to meet up with them later on. T & I wanted to go get changed back into our jeans and she said she needed about an hour to re-group herself. I had been running the poor thing ragged. While I was freshening up Tom called and said he had spoken to N and that we were all meeting up so I met him in the lobby and we headed over to get T. We all met up at the bar in Binnon's. A security guard that had his eye on T the night before spotted us and came over and bought her and I a drink and chatted with the group for a bit. Then he returned with drink vouchers for T and I and told us to enjoy our evening. We thanked him then we all headed to the back where the band was playing. Grabbed a table and had alot of laughs and some drinks & caught up on what everyone had been up too. I grabbed B and got him up to dance to what had to be the longest song in history. He kept saying does this ever end? It was a really fast song so I kept tapping his chest to keep his heart going as he thought he was going to die. The last song of the night was a real fast one so we all got up as a group for that one. We had a really good time then I called it a night.
I smartened up and put a hold on my phone so no calls could come in before 10 a.m. Thanks for the idea Danny.

Meet 3 at the Monte Carlo again a great group of people & alot of laughs. After the meet Butch, myself, Charlie and Tony decided to walk up the strip. All of us except Tony were staying downtown & we we undecided if we would grab a bus or share a cab. On the way out the guys decided they were hungry and into the Boardwalk we went while time share people were trying to hussle us. The guys opted for the 3 mini burger and fries special. I had a glass of ice water. From there we stopped at the Bellagio to watch the fountain show then we said our goodbyes to Tony who was heading to Harrah's to meet up with his wife and surprise her with a take out order of 3 mini burgers & fries. I thought we were going to get a cab but B comes up with the brilliant idea of going to the Ho as they have great odds. C says sounds good to me we can walk. I said do u guys realize how far it is from here to there? They were convinced it was close by so off we went. Part way there they realized it wasn't so close afterall.....lol. B wanted a slot card so the pit boss had me take his id up to the slot department and get one for him. He said just tell them I sent u as a temp pit boss. I said first I got to babysit this guy for a few days now I have to run his errands too....lol. Both of them sat at different tables and both hit hot dealers. C got out not to bad but B wouldn't give up. Everyone at the table left but he was sure he would win the next hand. He ended up playing one on one and the dealer even looked at him and said if I was playing against me I would leave. He still hung in there for a few more hands. He lost big time. We convince him it's time to go back downtown and head over to the Stardust to grab a cab. 45 minutes later we get a cab and r headed back home. B is in his rare form once again and is making comments to the cab driver. The driver asked me how I ended up with a man from Iowa who kept insisting he was from Idaho and a gentleman from California. As he was asking me this his cell went off and he started saying oh yes I have your wife in my cab and she's with these two guys and she's oh wait how much did u say u were going to tip me lady.......lol. He had me in stitches. B however got hit upside the head with a book when he told the driver I was staying in his room. By this time C & I were referring this to the cab ride from hell and I was begging the driver to hurry and get me back or to open the door and push B out. I figured if one of them reached back and opened the door I could shove him out. I said that's it no more babysitting and I mean it this time!! We get to the LVC and run into Tom playing BJ. Charlie & I left B with him and went out and watched the light show and then a mechanical bull ride. Later on Tom's friend Brian showed up & we all headed to the El Cortez and the 1.00 craps table. T tried explaining the game to C and I but we weren't following him. So he said put a dollar here and I will show u what to do. C caught on fairly well but I wasn't doing so great. I did get a turn at throwing the dice. My first roll was fine but my second wasn't. The worse thing one can do is two rolls and I did. The stick man said since this is your first time did u want me to go upstairs and get you a copy of the video. They all thought that was funny. I have to admit I did too. Then they told me to throw my chip to him as I said I couldn't reach so I did. Then he explained I was to toss gently that throwing was just an expression. WHOOPS!! Les u would have been so proud....hahaha. However I was the only one who left with money I won $22.00. We all left there and went back to the LVC and sat at a BJ table where once again the lessons started. Thankfully the dealer was patient and everyone at the table knew each other so that when I did make a mistake or had to ask a question no one got mad. I had a habit of hitting when I shouldn't have. It was getting late so I said my good nights & headed up to bed with a few extra dollars in my pocket. We had lost B by this time and assumed he was over at the Golden Gate.

Next morning there is a band on my door & B is there 3 sheets to the wind. Seems he was at the Golden Gate the night before. He met a lady there and was coming to tell me he was getting married and I wasn't to make any plans for Friday as I was standing up for them. This man is something else. I told him he needed to go to bed and that I would luv to meet his lady friend later that night as he had a date with her. I was on the phone with LvNorm making arrangements to meet with him and his lovely wife Andrea when there is a knock on my door. Again it's B. he said your line was busy and we r downstairs waiting to take u to eat. I said who and he said the boys. I said B u were suppose to meet them hours ago and go out he said well we didn't and they r so come on. I though ok I will humour u as I was getting ready to go eat then go to the strip. Sure enough he wasn't lying. Turns out they were missing one of the guys so Brian suggested they take me to eat with them. So off to Main Street Station and a very nice brunch. I was going to go get the bus but Brian said they would drop me off. As we were walking to the car we ran into the MIA guy. We all went to the Monte Carlo and they decided to go to the meet. Unfortunately the pic Pat took didn't turn out so we don't have one of this meet. I was going to go to the MGM & NYNY after the meet but the Iowa Gang invited me to hang with them & be one of the boys. So off to the Luxor where everyone but myself and T lost money. We didn't gamble we had a beer and watched D the world's fastest finger at video poker. From there we headed to park the car back at the Queen's then went to the El Cortez. I walked in with a bottle in my hand which is a big NO NO in there. No glass of any kind is allowed only plastic cups and beer cans. Did u know Corona comes in a can with a lime slice?....lol. I went up to the bar as instructed to pour my beer in a glass when this very inebriated man wanted me to stay and visit. I told I couldn't as I had friends waiting on me. He asked where and I said right there that one is my husband. He watched as I walked up to poor Brian and put my arm in his and said hey hubby. He said we r married I said we r now and he caught on and put his arm around my shoulder and said that's right she's my honey bun were married. We took our honeymoon picture out on FMS at the giant Christmas Tree. Such a nice man. B, T & myself headed for a BJ table and more lessons. D was at the bar playing video poker and B was wondering around somewhere. T was having a terrible run at the cards and when it con't here he started pouting and said a few things then apologized to the dealer saying it wasn't her it was him. We told her he really was a miserable man and not to pay him any attention. Then when he left told her otherwise. Brian or my hubby as he is now called con't on playing. He was helping me but I ended up loosing my money. I teamed up with him & ended up getting $10.00 of it back. We found the others drowning their sorrows at the bar and then headed back. I said goodbye to D as he was flying out early in the morning and the rest of us went to the LVC. B & I hit the slots and I won I think he did too. T hit the BJ tables and B went back to the Golden Gate. I said my good nights to B & T and goodbyes to my new hubby as he was flying out sometime around lunch the next day. Now that I got to be one of the "boys" for a day I know what goes on during the "INFAMOUS BOYS TRIPS" and might be willing to share for the right price Thank you guys you were alot of fun and it was really very nice of you to let the Little Canuk hang out with all of you. I had a great time.

Went to Main Street Station Seafood Buffet and met up with Norm and Andrea for supper. We had a really pleasant time, great conversation and lots of chuckles. Pat sorry your foot was so bad and u and Marge didn't end up making it. We had a a really nice time. Later that night I got some more BJ lessons but lost my $100.00 fairly fast so that was it for me. I think I needed my new hubby back.....lol

I wanted to say thank you to the lady who booked my reservation with a small token. So I got some flowers and asked T to show me where the offices were. I went up and her boss had let his staff leave early. I had missed her by about 15 min. but he said he would make sure she got them. I shook his hand and introduced myself to him and we started talking. When he found out I was from Canada he started talking hockey and about his son who plays. While we were sitting there he has a screen on where we could see the whole casino. He was zoomed in on the tables. It was so cool I had only ever seen that on TV before. He said look there's Mr. K. I'm thinking MR!! T came in and the gentleman asked how it was going and he told him he was having a bad run at the tables then he asked me and I said I'm not a big roller so things r going fine for me. That I was very happy with the hotel and how nice everyone there was. He asked if there was anything he could do for either of us and I said no thank you that I was fine. T said a better run at the tables would be nice. Then he said well I would like to treat u to dinner. Pick a time and I will take care of the rest. We thanked him then went to phone Danny & Bev to see if they minded us going on a date...lol. Bev told Tom to have me give him a hug for her and Danny said to enjoy the meal. We met at the elevators later that evening and headed to the restaraunt. We walked in and said we had reservations and the head waiter said welcome Mr. K come right this way. We didn't say who he was. (again with the Mister!!) We were taken to our table & had linen napkins put on our laps. The the head waiter welcomes us to the restaurant and says everything has been taken care of for us and he had been given instructions to take care of us & to start us off with appetizer and finish with after dinner liquors & we were to order anything we wanted from the menu. We looked at each other when he left and said DAMN!! We started with a pastry seafood appetizer. I was in charge of ordering the wine. So the waiter brought me a sample. I swirled, sniffed and swished it....lol. and said it was wonderful and thanked him. He returns with a bottle and removes the cork & puts it in front of me & says please test this one too as it is a fresh bottle & I want to make sure it is satisfactory for the lady. I did the same routine & again thanked him and said it is excellent. They then came to the table and made our salads. We both ordered surf and turf. The fillet mignon & lobster (which was removed from the shell) was melting in my mouth. The meal also came with an assortment of breads, rice and vegies. They brought the desert tray and we narrowed it down to 2 and then I had the waiter choose for us. He picked a hot blueberry cobbler with strawberries and whip cream. God it was to die for!! Then it was time for the after dinner liquors. I ordered an ameretto on the rocks thinking I would get a small liquor glass oh no no no I got a large glass full. The waiter suggested something that had 3 letters in it for T I can't recall the name but it had brandy, cognac and something else in it. It smelt really potent. T put a cigarette in his mouth and before he could get his lighter they lit it for him. It was an excellent meal and I got to know how the other 1/2 lives. We were treated like royalty. However I refuse to call him Mr.....lol

After dinner we went to play BJ time for more lessons. I still was having troubles on some stuff. & to wait for B to return from his date. He took her to see Randy Travis. We had a great group of people at the table and one of them ordered a round of tequila shooters for the table. This man and his lady friend were down over $1000.00 from what we seen (don't know what they lost before we got there) plus when he left the table to get more money or go to the mens room he would hit a $25.00 min. table on his way back. I ended up $100.00 ahead & I think T got back most of his looses. Next thing we hear is someone singing Randy Travis songs and there's B standing behind us. He said he had a great time and another date the next day. We gabbed for a bit then said our goodbyes to Tom as he was heading home late that night. Thanks for the "date" Tom. Now I know how they treat high rollers!! I never heard someone called Mr. so many times. I was waiting for a chauffeur to show up and say Mr. K we have your limo waiting to take u to the airport and the bellman has already got your bags for u.....lol

The next day B and I went for breakfast and he bought a gift for his lady friend and I went to get a thank you card for the gentleman who set up the wonderful dinner as I wanted him to know how much I appreciated it and how nice it was. Later Jim met up with me. We had made plans to hang out Sun. and he would take me to the airport that night to catch my flight. Butch had to play dad and come check this young man out to make sure I would be safe. We had drinks with Jim and with B new friend. Then I took J to Binnon's for something to eat as he had never been there and that way I got to say goodbye to Mel and Al. I had been in there another day and spoke with them and gave them some pics. They told me last trip they would remember me but I didn't think they would. Not only did they remember me they knew when I was there and I was the hockey lady. These guys r something else and really good company and very entertaining. We left Binnon's and walked outside into a wind and rainstorm from hell. (the second one of my trip) The vendors were trying to close down and their stuff was blowing away on them. We made it back to the LVC and played some slots. I won $100.00. When the storm stopped I grabbed my stuff and went to say goodbye to B & his friend. I had to promise him I would call when I got to the airport as he knew I had a long time till I left. Then we hugged and had another teary goodbye.

Jim & I went to the Bellagio and met up with Morpheus and Carla. Had a drink and gabbed for a couple hours. I looked like a truck had run over me and then for good measure backed up and did it again. I was looking rough and running on empty. They offered me the key to their room at the Aladdin to go rest and Jim had offered me the key to his suite at Mandalay Bay and said he would phone up in time for me to catch my flight. I thanked all of them but said this is my last night in Vegas and I'm not wasting it sleeping. We said our goodbyes to Morph & Carla and headed to Mandalay Bay. What a beautiful suite. Then we headed over to the Luxor as Jim was hungry again. Had a nice conversation then it was after 10 so we headed back to Mandalay Bay for the car and off to the airport. Jim u r truly a gentleman & I thank you for keeping me company all that time and taking me to the airport. I really appreciated your kindness towards me. I'm glad u were able to win some silver strikes.

My 11:15 pm flight was delayed till 11:45pm I got through security but had to go twice as my bracelets and boots set off the alarm. The security guard said he would give me two chances then I was his. As promised I called Daddy Butch and told him I made it safe and sound and was waiting on my flight. We spoke for a few minutes, started to get mushy so said goodbye. I landed in Toronto at 6:37 am. The door to the plane had to be ode-iced to get us out. Then we ended up in baggage claim for an hour as the cargo door was also frozen and jammed. I ended up sitting crossed legged like an Indian on the floor next to the carosole waiting. I cleared customs again with NO PROBLEMS and found Danny standing waiting for me when I came through the doors. Someone had told him the problem inside so he knew that I was fine.

I had a wonderful time, too many teary hello's and goodbyes (what else is new eh!) and added another volume to my book of memories. It was great seeing my old friends and making some new one's. I can't wait to go back again. Here's praying for a good airfare for May.

What a fun sounding trip!! When are you going in May? I didn't quite catch where you stayed downtown - was it Golden Nugget?
