    My Trip Report

Yep, after a long period of time in the hospital after being sandwiched by a hit and run jerkoff, i'm treating myself to Vegas.

Im doing a "Poker Only" trip this time (Yeah, mostly because I can sit down for hours at a time...) and hope to report back on the rooms that I think are the friendliest to the player.

So, on Nov 1-3, I will be in my element... Anyone else going then? Always love a table partner to chat with!

Glad to be back on the greatest Vegas board ever...

Damn Jer, I miss you by a week. I would have loved a partner to sit at the tables with. I will be there from the 7th through the 14th, so if anyone would like to meet up let me know.

    Jer,

Sorry to hear about your accident. I can't think of a better way or place to spend some much deserved recovery time. I hope you win lots of $$$. I'm sure that'll speed your recovery. Do you drink alcohol while playing poker? I know it's not the smartest thing to do, but I do enjoy my bailey's on the rocks when I'm sitting at a blackjack table.

Okay, I just booked at the Paris...

Anyone ever play poker there? I'm looking for a simple 3-6 hold 'em game and besides the 30 minutes of poker at Binions in July, its been ages since I have played in Vegas.

    Any suggestions?

Jer! I told you that anti-Raider karma was gonna catch up with you! Dammit! Quit messin' around! You probably blinded that driver with sun reflecting off your powder blue throw-back!

I'm fairly certain that Paris does not have a poker room...if it hurts to walk, you may want to reconsider (or at least call them to confirm). My favorite poker room is the Mirage, and they have $3/$6. Monte Carlo also has a nice friendly poker room, and they even have $2/$4 (along with micro brews...I think you're followin' me). Flamingo has a small poker room, and I understand Luxor does too, although I've never played there.

My advice: Vikedin and a beer. [IMG]

I'll be there about a week later....save some of those chips for me!

Yeah, the Paris has NO Poker room... I thought for some reason there was! So those reservations were cancelled and now I am on a mission to stay downtown.

I can get the ElCo for 49 a night in the mini suites, the Nugget for 79 a night, and Binions for 59 a night...

    ??????

Im going to test my new strategy in hold em tonight at the Barona Valley Ranch Hotel and Casino. I will let you all know how it went, I can't wait!

    Jer-
Are you sure you can have a Saturday arrival at the Downtown places you mention? My info suggests not. Might wanna check again. I don't think I'd stay at Binions for that price although if I got it in the $25 range I might. I think the rooms in the ElCo Towers are worth the money but somehow can't see Vegas Jer staying there. I'd suggest you go the Nugget if they will let you check-in on a Saturday. Just my thinking. [IMG]

I know for sure you can check in at the Fitz on a Saturday--we did a couple weeks ago. But it was $99 for one night....

Avoid Binions... I got a nice email from Mikey explaining the perils of their rooms. I guess if you don't want to walk, Binions is an option...

Yeah andsen, I can check in those places on a Saturday. It took some sweet talking at the ElCo, and the other places are okay because of availability.

I have heard some things about Binions as well, so I might just have to cross them off my list!

    Thanks for the input! [IMG]

    Hey Jer...

I agree 100% with your signature line. I got rear ended at 96 mph 2 years ago. The idiot was drunk, unlisenced, and uninsured. Why? Because of his 2 previous DUI's.

Another reason to stay downtown, you don't have to drive anywhere.

I can tell you from personal experience, the rooms at Binions are definitely NOT worth $59 per night.
