    My Trip Report

This was my 6th trip to Vegas and 4th with my GF. She is 29 and I'm 30. I will keep it simple. Feel free to ask any question.

This was oour first stay at the Flamingo. It was originally 4 comped nights, but flights were MUCH cheaper if we flew out one night earlier. I called Flamingo and the added the night on July 4th to my comp. The crazy part was the night of July 4th would have cost the same price as my other 4 nights combined! 5 free comped nigths and I'm happy!

    July 4th

Our flight left Detroit at 9:30pm. We were at the Flamingo by 11:15pm with a $16 cab ride that included tip. 2 people infront of me waiting to check in. I was comped 5 nights in a deluxe room with a King bed. When I got to the clerk, I asked if I could please have a room with a fridge. She says, "that should not be a problem." We get to our room and BOOM a GO ROOM for free without even asking!!! Unpacked, did 1 quick lap of the hotel and went to bed.

    July 5th

Up at 8:30am and got ready to go to the pool. We arrived at the pool at 9:30am and easily found chairs. We each had a few breakfast beers. After the pool, we showered and headed to the Grand Lux at the Venetian for lunch and to pick-up our Jersey Boy tickets for the next night. After lunch, we caught the shuttle at Harrahs to the Rio to catch the 1st day of the WSOP. What a very cool event! We saw a few well known poker pros such as Phil Hellmuth and Doyle Brunson and I got my picture taken with Comedian Ray Romano and NBA player Shawn Marion. after walking around the WSOP, we used a 2-for-1 coupon to see Penn and Teller and it was TERRIBLE!

    July 6th

At the pool by 10am. Watched the soccer and then Flamingo Buffet for lunch. Took an afternoon nap and then headed down to the IP at 4pm to make some baseball bets and drink some $7 pitchers. Chipotle for dinner and then on to Jersey Boys. When deciding what tickets to get, I read on here that they like to move people from the upper section down to the lower section and THIS HAPPENED for us. I had bought the cheapest tickets ($62.50) and they moved us to Row K in the Orchestra ($150+ tickets). FANTASTIC show!

    July 7th
Another morning at the pool, watched some more soccer, followed by the Harrahs' buffet for lunch. After lunch, GF wanted to go shopping and I didn't. She went shopping for the afternoon and I headed back over to the Rio for Day 1C of the WSOP. Saw many of the big name pros playing such as Hellmuth, Duke, Esfandiari, Cada, Dwan, Sexton, Chan and Canada's own Daniel Negreanu. We met back at the room at 5pm, had some drinks and went down to MGM. Played my favourite game, THE PONIES, and went and saw Ka with the $50 deal. We both did very well at Planet Hollywood as we gambled on our way back to the Flamingo.

    July 8th

Slept in today. Headed over to Ceasars for breakfast/lunch (ie. arrived at 10:45 to pay for breakfast, but to eat lunch). Also used a $5 off coupon. After lunch, we caught the ACE and headed to the Outlet Mall. Bought a few items and then caught the Ace to Freemont Street. Ate dinner at Binions Cafe and then caught a cab out to Cashman Field to watch the Las Vegas 51's baseball team. They are the AAA team of my favourite baseball team, the Toronto Blue Jays. It also happened to be $1 beer night and I did what every good fan does on $1 beer night and drank 1 beer per 1/2 inning. After the game, we caught a cab back to Freemont and toured around. Cuaght the Ace back to the Flamingo and was in bed at 2am.

    July 9th

6am came way to early, but we had to get moving for our 9:15am flight. Flight landed 45 minutes early and now we are home safe and sound.

Yes, they are up at the Sports Bar, but if that bar is not open you can also get them downstairs at the bar across from the Tiki Bar that is in the middle of the casino. You can actually get 2/$12, but I'd rather pay $7 each and drink cold beer.

I've stayed at Flamingo 2x - both in deluxe rooms , first time in 2007 was great , 2nd time last yr in July, not so great , had a bad room experience!
but I love the casino for playing the slots
