    My Trip Report

Hello everyone I just arrived back from the Luxor and I will post you some of the highlights.

We arrived Friday night and the airport was pretty dead for 11:30 at night it was a little strange. We took a coach to the Luxor and we stood in line to check in. It only took us about 15 minutes to check in. We stayed in the Jacuzzi room and it was very very nice. We were very pleased with the set up. The room had a huge bathroom, big bedroom and on top of that, it had a second "Sitting" room that was really cool. The rooms furniture and everything were themed which was really cool, and very comfortable. The couch in the sitting room was especially comfy. We had two TV's (However I never watch tv in vegas because it seems that they do not have that many channels) one in the bedroom and one in the sitting room. THe jacuzzi tub was very big and was set up by the window, which unfortunatly, overlooked the Mandalay Bay (not that it was bad, it just would have been better if it looked over the strip. I should have asked, damn!) We were a little tired from the flight so we decided to stay in (no we are not crazy, we were just tired) but we did order room service because my girlfreind was hungry. My girlfriend ordered a philly cheese steak dinner and I just had a couple of beers brought up. They told us that it would be about 45 minutes to an hour. Which was expected since it was a busy time of day. They made it in about 40 minutes and they were extreemly nice, and they bring everything you may possibly need. From ice water to a tiny bottle of Tabasco, mustard, ketchup, etc. They even sent up a USA Today. It was not that expensive and the food was great.

Saturday morning we got up and took a shower. Someone on this site was right, NO HOT WATER. However, if we turned the knob all of the way the temperature was just right, not hot but warm. We looked around the shops for a while and then decided to eat lunch. We ate at the Luxor Pyramid Cafe in the casino. The service was a tad slow but it was busy. The food was pretty good and the price was reasonable. After lunch my girlfriend wanted to get her nails done at the salon so she went off and I went off to gamble. Again, someone on this site was right about the Luxor casino, I could not win at all!!! I went through $40 in blackjack quicker than anyone could. It is not that I am bad at blackjack, I was not getting any good cards at all. It must have been the curse of the mummy or something. I played 25 cent slots waiting for my gf. I actually won $10. After I met with my girlfriend I tried playing bj again and lost again. Not so quick this time but still lost. Nothing much happened untill 10 when we went to see Blue Man Group. The show was very interesting. We had a lot of fun and I highly reccomend seeing it. The tickets, however, were a little pricey (about $90 a ticket).

On Sunday everyone was leaving, so the casinos and the strip was dead by 6. I have to say that I lover being in Las Vegas when it is less busy. There is a lot more things you can do since you do not have to wait in lines. There was also a lot more room in the casinos. We went down the strip and gambled mainly in the Aladdin where I won all of my money back playing a nickel slot machine!!!! I won $109 playing the slot machine where the jackpot is diamond jewelry. I did not hit the jackpot this time but I kept winning and winning. Nothing else really eventful happened on Sunday, just gambling, shopping, and drinking. I went to the Excallibur and lost a little bit more money so I ended up down about $35, so not bad!

Monday we did more of the same. Checkout was easy since I did it right over the TV. The held our bags at the front desk until our flight at 6:30p. My girlfriend purchaced and antique egyptian necklace/amulet from the store by the casino. (I don't remember the name of it) It was really cool they had a lot of pieces that were very interesting. The piece we purchaced was from 1300 BC!! I hope it does not have a curse.

Flying out of the Airport on Monday night was a piece of cake. Walked right in, no lines anywhere!! It was an excellent trip and I hate being back to work. I can not wait until I go again. Any suggestions for hotels the next time?

P.S. All of the information I have recieved on this web site has helped a lot, I thank all of you for your posts!

Sounds like you had a good time. I mean who wouldn't in Las Vegas? LOL

As for your gambling in Luxor, it probably just wasn't your lucky day(s). I mean I was at the Trop in April and we weren't lucky either but I would stay there again, just gamble somewhere else.

Again, glad you had a good time.

Did the couch in the sitting area fold out into a bed? We are taking an adult child with us next year and haven't decided on one room or two. The extra room seems like wasted money except for once in a while.

No, it was just an ordinary couch but it was really comfortable but it did not fold out. One could definitley sleep on it, just a tad small compared to a bed. The room had a door connecting the room next door but I am not sure what kind of room it was. My guess would be a standard room.
