    My Trip Report

My lovely wife and I went the Treasure Island for a 3 day gambling trip March 28-31. This was a basic trip for us.

    1) We had a offer: 3 nights in a comped Suite, $400 in Freeplay, and $125 in Food. This included the check-in in the VIP lounge.
    2) We arrived via first class flight via Delta. On the Atlanta to LV leg we flew on a 767-300 ER - First class seats turn into beds -OMG! This was nice!
    3) We tried the $20 trick - no go! They were busy and the suites and slammed. We arrived early on Sunday so we took the first Petit Suite available. We could have waited for a higher room and better view -but opted for the first available. (9th floor and view of Trump Tower) :rolleyes2:
Without a doubt it was a nice room and the bed was wonderful.
    4) We ate at the following places: Canters Deli, TI Coffee Shop (3 times for Breakfast), TI Dishes, and California Pizza Kitchen (Fashion Show Mall). I used gift cards at CPK. The final food bill at TI was around $150 - even with us going over the $125 offer - TI host Joy Perrone (sp) picked it all up.
    5) We did go shopping at the Fashion Show Mall -since is so nicely located next to TI. We also went over to the Mirage to do a little gambling. Otherwise we were gambling at TI.
    6) My wife does nothing but slot machines and I do mostly slots, but also did a little Craps, 3-Card Poker, Roulette, and Blackjack. As far as slots go: my wife likes Goldfish, Enchanted Unicorn, and Zeus (and others). We both had great runs at times. I play just about anything on the slots -but like Goldfish, Money Storm, Invaders from the Planet Moolah, Wizard of Oz, and Tailgate Party (Mirage). I tried the Sex in the City game - it was Ok.
    7) Good experiences with the cab drivers - no attempts to take the tunnel.
    8) Took advantage of the VIP lounge - they offer free drinks and snacks throughout the day - The soda are in cans so - we go in a couple of times a day to grab a soda and cookie!
    9) No resort fee for comped guests - but you can take advantage of the "free" stuff - we did not.
    10) No shows this trip
    11) One trick we have learned is to tip at the restaurants in cash - when we checked out the Slot Host made a big deal about how much nicer it was for them when there were no tips to deal with (probably a computer thing) - She was very happy we did it this way and maybe explains them picking up the rest of the food bill. (It could be because of gambling too)
    12) During this trip my wife earned 12,000+ slot points and I earned 7,000+ slot points.
    13) We checked out Wednesday morning around 9 am and headed to the airport. We did a little last minute shopping and gambling. The Security Line was very long - the First Class line made it go a little faster but that was long too!
    14) Hope to go back this summer (June or July)! We will wait to see what the offers are and make plans we they start coming in.

If you have any questions -I will gladly answer

Great report and sounds like the two of you had a wonderful time.
Quick question on the Delta flight as that is the connection I take and always try to get the 767--but wondering if they have put new planes in service as the 767s I have been on did not make into a bed--and was on one in late Jan

We are using an offer for the first time at TI and were told no resort fees will be charged. If we are using that offer then are you automatically able to go to the VIP check in? Also, what did you mean free stuff that you didn't take advantage of, was this besides the VIP lounge?
Thanks, never stayed here and not sure how this place works.

It was a surprise to us - when we rushed to the plane in Atlanta they told us that there was an equipment change. Dont know why or if it will continue but it was a GREAT ride! I am 6 foot 3 inches and this was heaven! The ride back was on a typical 767.

Sounds like the regular domestic 767 had an issue so they swapped it out with a 767 that was configured for international flights. Domestic configured larger aircraft such as the 767 / 757 generally don't have lie flat beds. where as the ones for international travel will.

Thanks. I hope you each won big!!

I think most places comp meals and also list and comp the tips separately. I think it is a nuisance for them particularly when they are comping very generous tips. They don't like people who use markers and tip heavily because then the casino has to pay the tips right away but wait until the marker is paid to receive the money. I think, but am not sure, that it is similar with tips in restaurants since the casino doesn't get the benefit of any "float" or delay in paying the restaurant for the meal. I'm not sure of the details but have heard this a few times about different casinos. I'm told that The Venetian comps both but lists them separately so their computers can keep track of your tipping subtotal as part of your rating-adjustment.

Everywhere I have stayed and used comps to pay for meals the tips were not comped--I have been told that they just don't comp tips--but of course no big deal--and it really is easier just to leave cash for the tips as you go.
