    My Trip Report

Day two actually started around 2pm. Its anmazing what some curtains can do to make it feel like it is still night! [IMG]

We all got together and went down to just putz around for awhile. I cashed my ticket and the same guy was at the window that gave me a hard time for picking Indiana. He mumbled, "Nice pick" and actually cracked a smile. I then told him about my side bet and he wished he was there to take that bet also. At 10-1, losing $75 with the chance to win $750 is nothing according to him.

Jesse and John had TREMENDOUS headaches from the festivities from the night before. "You know what they say cures a hangover Jesse?" said John. "SCREWDRIVERS!" exclaimed Jesse. [IMG]
We started talking and they were telling me about the four people they booted from the craps table for trying to rack up comps by splitting the pass and don't pass lines. The pit boss was just standing there watching as these guys would put $100-300 down on alternating turns. After about an hour, the pit asked them where they were from individually and one of them actually said San Diego, where we are from. The pit asked where in SD because he had family there and the guy just said, "San Diego." Jesse and John started to chyme in that they were from there and the guy got really nervous all of a sudden. Once the pit saw that, he walked over and whispered to the guy and they all immediately walked away from the table. After they left, the pit said two can sometimes get away with it, but four? Not a chance. :(

We ate at Calypsos again, free is a good thing... We had heard that there was a "Batting Cage" type place somewhere in Vegas that was pretty cool. I asked the concierge at the Trop and they had no clue what I was talking about. Oh well, more drinking and gambling I guess. We decided to hit downtown. It has been awhile since I have been there, but it is pretty cool nonetheless. Hit the 'Shoe for some craps, but the atmosphere wasn't doing it for us. I can't really explain it. People were hitting points, but no excitement. We started trying to get people to get involved, but to no avail. After a little while of this, we headed back to the strip.

The strip was getting more and more crowded, as the night progressed. The "California crowd" as some of the dealers commented. We just laughed and said we must have not gotten the notice because we got there a day early!

We decided to go play some 3 card poker again and I hoped we got lucky again. We hit the Bellagio and sat in the first three seats and played for awhile. My first hand was a straight, winning me $225 but after that there was really nothing. After losing that and another $100, we decided that this wasn't the game for us. We decided to go to the Paris, simply because Jesse wanted to see the waitresses in the french uniforms. This place is small and cramped when the masses come in. I played craps for awhile while the guys played VP. I got to roll and did pretty well, pissing off the idiot who was on the darkside. This other lady got mad at me for not rolling numbers in the field. I let her know that I have no control over my dice and stared at the pitboss and got a smirk! The minute she left I rolled 2 12's and 2 10's... Ha Ha...

I asked the Pit for some buffet comps and he gave me a hard time but finally came through. 2 was all he said he could do and I made them for the breakfast in the morning. 3 great buffets for the price of one is excellent in my book.

After that, we mainly just walked around and tried to find some fun stuff to do. Club 2K was hopping at the Venetian, so we checked it out. 10 minutes after we got in there, a fight broke out. The HUGE bouncers took care of it quickly and all was settled in a matter of seconds. Time goes by quickly, we were talking and staring, drinking and then it was 1:30am. We decided to head back to the hotel and call it a night. I ended up spending $100 in the club, how I don't know. [IMG]

    Last day to come

What does it mean "splitting the pass and don't pass line"? I don't want to sound like an idiot, bu I am very new to craps.

    Tracy,

Splitting the pass line and don't pass line means that you play the pass line, your buddy plays the don't pass line, and share in the profit/loss. Theoretically you should break about even.

These guys were doing it to make it look like they were gambling a lot, just to get comps, from what I can gather. Casinos frown upon that.

Tracy, Mikey is right. People think they can go and rack up comps by doing this and get caught rather easily...

Don't try this at home folks... [IMG]

    >>We had heard that there was a "Batting Cage"

You might be thinking of All American Sports Park, next to the Callaway Center...a few blocks up from Tropicana on LV blvd. A friend of mine told me they have the yards of famous parks you hit into. You know, it might be closed...the parking lot was empty when I was there last month.

    Obviously Vegas veterans. outstanding.

Man I hate that. Craps is all about excitement. If you're not yellin', high five'n, and laughing with the dealers, you might as well be playing black jack! A couple of buddies of mine and I opened an empty table at the 'Shoe one night... well..morning...and started making noise...people came from everywhere, and in 10 minutes the table was packed and we were all having a great time. For me, that's the best part of craps.

    >>pissing off the idiot who was on the darkside

    It's just wrong. 'nuff said.

I have got to run into in LV sometime Jer, and buy you a nice big screwdriver!
