    My Trip Report

Left early Saturday morning for the 3.5 hour drive to the Palazzo. It was raining pretty hard and there were many accidents on the way.

Our invite was for 2-3 or 4 nights at the Palazzo. We choose 3. It included a Big Game Party, can't use the name Super Bowl.

Check-in was fast and we ended up with a room on the 37th floor over looking the Wynn golf course. What a view. What a golf course.

Wife played slots and I found a small bank of OK paying VP. I got lucky and hit a royal and quad aces with kicker for a nice start. There's not many fair VP machines at the Palazzo. There is a bank of eight machines not too far from the club desk. I seem to remember Game King.

Later in the day IllMarty showed up and we went to my room and had a drink or two before heading back to the casino. We played 21 and both of us made a little score before calling it quits for the night.

Sunday, IllMarty came down fairly early and the three of us headed for the El Cortez and had Prime Rib. We each had the large cut and the taste was excellent. But when the bill came, OMG, it was $34 total. Not each but total. I love Downtown.
Wife went to play slots and I showed Marty a game called, Three Way Action. We each put in $100 and I lost all of mine and he cashed in for $300. It's a fun VP type of game.

Now it's almost time for the Palazzo Big Game Party. It was included in the comp that they had sent me. So, Marty and I (wife stayed at El Co) headed to the party. The hotel had 3 or 4 parties going and the one that we were invited to was the bottom level. Another words, the big players had better parties.

The room was set up great. Plenty of tables with goodies on them. They had bars set-up all over the room and food stations throughout the room. Food was, various sandwiches, tacos, hot dogs, ice cream station serving sundays, all kinds of bagged chips, etc. They had 16 LARGE screen TV's. Not a bad seat in the house. It was a great job by Palazzo. Never a line of any kind anywhere.

We both won our Big Game bets which made for a great game. It was a great game even if we hadn't won. We played a little and I lost and I'm not sure how Marty did. He left fairly early and I played some more with a small profit.

Monday we were invited to Tuscany by our friends that are locals. She has a ton of food comps so we had steaks and stuff in there nice restaurant. Food was very good. After dinner they had to go home and Jennifer and I played there. Their VP machines have very good payouts but not for me. In about 45 minutes I dropped $300 on quarters. Time to go back to Palazzo.

Well, I'm still ahead of them so I play. I tried some 1 cent 50 play VP and did OK. The guy on the other side of this bank of machines was playing 1 cent, 100 play and it dealt him a royal. Payout was $4,000. Nice.
I'm still ahead so I head to the tables and lo and behold my lucky streak ended. Nothing I could do was right. I kept trying though. Ended the trip down four to five hundred. Still OK for all that time.

The only gripe I have at the Palazzo is the cigar smoke. One guy sat at my table and lite one up. I just quietly left and went to another table as I normally do but that cigar smoke seemed to fill the whole table area. They need more air vents to suck that stuff up and away. Many players left the area including me. I'm sure they will do something to help that out.

Great fun, great friends, great party. That's good as it gets. Oh, winning would have made it better.

OMG is right, about that El Co dinner tab. What'd you do, splurge on wine or something? lol.

Sounds like a good time overall. Although I'd think you were really headed to the Plaza and the cabbie just misheard you, but you drove, so I don't know what the excuse is?
